Admiral T'Lar just got the list of all the new crewmembers. It had been awhile since they had a Chief Medical Officer.
"Admiral T'Lar to Doctor Thr'elanon. Please meet me in my office at your convenience." Deela waited for a reply.
Thr'elanon's antenna twitched at the communicator. "Admiral T'Lar, I will be there shortly." Shrivol exited his office in sickbay before realizing he had to look for directions for the XO's office.
Meanwhile, Captain Harrison walked into her office, "Hi, I was wondering if we could talk? I'm worried about Lee, this mission."
"Sure. I am expecting the new CMO but after that, we can talk."
Alex nodded, "I wouldn't mind meeting him myself if you don't mind."
Deela nodded, "You know. I think that is a good idea." She got Alex a drink while they waited.
Shrivol arrived at the door to Admiral T'Lar's office and adjusted his uniform and made sure his hair was adequately in place. He pressed the buzzer along the door panel.
Deela put the PADD down as she looked over towards the door, "Enter." Alex stood up to greet the doctor.
Shrivol took a deep breath before the doors opened. He was anxious and it was showing, he walked into the spacious office. "Admiral T'lar. A pleasure to meet you." he said as he moved in front of her desk and stood at attention.
Deela could sense his nerves, "Same here. Please relax and have a seat. This here is Captain Harrison."
Alex smiled at him, "Hi Doctor. Welcome aboard."
While Deela waited for him to sit, "This meeting is strictly to get acquainted with you. Would you like something to drink?"
"Thank you." Shrivol took a seat and relaxed "I would love a black coffee please. I must say I am not used to being on a permanent station so large, even after studying the schematics I am still getting lost."
Deela chuckled, "Yes, it can be quite overwhelming if you are not used to it."
"Don't worry. You'll get used to it after a while." Captain Harrison handed him a cup of coffee and sat back down, "You know, it's not too often we get an Andorian Chief Medical Officer. How are you with kids?"
"I would say better than I am with some adult patients." Shrivol said with a smile. "I usually have to bribe adults with more candy than children."
Deela smiled at Harrison, "You will have to excuse her. She is expecting a baby in 7 months and I think she is a bit nervous."
Harrison rolled her eyes at Deela, "I wasn't thinking about myself. I was thinking about Brandon and Raivyn." She glanced over at Shrivol, "I don't mean any disrespect but I am sure that your kids have never seen an Andorian."
Deela looked over at Shrivol, "She is right but we will deal with that when it happens." She leaned forward in her chair, "What about you? Do you have any concerns? Questions?"
Shrivol chuckled "Well I could use tips on how not to get lost." Shrivol looked back at Captain Harrison. "I trust that you have kept up to date on your check ups." he hoped that statement didn't sound harsh. "My apologies Captain, I just have experience with Captains being too busy to deal with us doctors." he said with another chuckle.
"Yes." She looked over at Deela who knew her oh so well, "Okay, no but I was planning to...as soon as I remember to make the appointment."
Deela couldn't help but laugh at her friend, "I will make sure that she comes see you. And if you need help from getting lost, I can get you someone to give you a tour."
"That would probably be best." Shrivol smiled. "Especially since Captain's oh so seldom refuse an order from an admiral." he said with the hint of sarcasm being evident.
Captain Harrison, "Great, we have a comedian for a doctor."
Deela was enjoying the subtle sparring. Deela stood up, "Well, it was a pleasure to meet you. If you need anything, just ask." She looked over at Captain Harrison, "Captain Harrison, please show the doctor around, show him to his quarters and Sickbay."
Captain Harrison held her tongue, "I'd be happy to show him around."
Shrivol smiled "Thank you Admiral, it was a pleasure." He turned to Captain Harrison and the smile turned into a smirk "Being that a tour is in order perhaps we can start with sickbay. So I can properly map things out, of course."
"Of course Doctor." Alex Harrison got up and right as she entered the doorway, she gave Deela a look, one that Deela knew what it meant, "I'll be back." She looked back at Shrivol, "Come on Doctor."
Deela smiled and shook her head. Her mind drifted back to the matters at hand.
