Deela watched K'Temoc leave. She looked around the room, thinking about K'Temoc's plan. She spotted the toy that she was fiddling with earlier and picked it up once again. She thought about her kids and Earl. She also thought about what was going to happen to them if this goes awry.
Deela wasn't having second thoughts but planning in her head what arrangements she needed to make for her family. If there was any doubt that Mike was innocent, she wouldn't have offered to take the blame as well. She needed to stay positive. She put the toy on her desk and sat behind it to get some things done but was unsuccessful.
The chime rang and Alex walked in, "I hope I'm not bothering you." She walked in and pulled up a chair, "Lee just left for the Pegasus so I thought I'd come and see how you are holding up."
Deela sat back in her chair, "I am doing fine under the circumstances. What about you pregnant lady, how are you doing?"
Alex shrugged, "The morning sickness has gotten worse but other than that, I'm feeling good."
"Good, I am happy for you." Deela sat forward in her chair, "Alex, I was wondering if you would do me a favor?"
Alex smiled, "Sure, anything for you Deela. What do you need?"
"I was thinking about my kids and I realized that if anything was to happen to me, the kids have no where to go. So I was wondering if you would take them in if something would happen to me. We could make it official."
Alex looked at her funny, "Why are you thinking about that? Is there something going on?"
Deela shook her head, "Oh no, like I said, I was just thinking about my kids, life, you know. And since you were here, I thought I would run it by you."
"Okay. I would be happy to if something happens to you god forbids." Alex leaned forward in her chair, "So what about Admiral Bremer? What is going to happen to him?"
Deela sighed, "The Cardassians want to try him."
Alex's eyes became wide, "What?! You have got to be kidding! We should do something! There is no way in hell that he murdered someone, he didn't do it!"
Deela wanted to tell her everything but she didn't want her involved, "We ARE doing something. Do not worry about it. "
Alex voice was still high, "What exactly, if I may ask?"
Deela frowned slightly, "I cannot tell you but I can assure you that everything will work out."
Alex stood up, "Deela!"
"Alex! I am sorry. You worry about that baby you are carrying and I will worry about Bremer."
Alex backed off, "Fine. I won't push." Alex gut was telling her to push the issue but she knew Deela. She wouldn't budge no matter how much she yelled at her. "I need to go. Paul is leaving for the Academy tomorrow and I would like to spend some quality time with him." Alex started for the door and turned one more time, "If you need to talk, I'm here for you." Alex left.
Deela watched her leave. She felt really bad keeping things from Alex but she didn't want her involved. Alex knew too much already. She sat at her console and brought up her will, adding Lee and Alex to it.
It was getting late. Deela got up and left as well. She had two kids that were probably missing their mommy.
