Arriving at Talos IV

Location: USS Vanguard/USS Laffey/USS Saratoga/USS Endeavour
Timeline: Current

Lee was sitting in the command chair as the Saratoga and the other ships came out of warp nearby Talos IV. The ships where within sensor range but still pretty far out.

The Vanguard maintained position close to the ships, but so far the ride was smooth.

Lee tapped the comm on his chair:"Ok gentlemen let's see what we can find out before we head down to the surface."

James stood up. "Lieutenant Simms," he said to his operations officer. "Scan the planet for any disturbances that may affect beam down, or anything out of the ordinary."

Yes sir.

James contacted the Saratoga. "Colonel, we're conducting scans of the planet that may affect the beam down. Last thing I want to see is you folks getting in a dust-up per se."

Coleman looked over at Ariel as he stood up and said, "Ariel, lets get a look at the planet so we're not going in blind. Take a look at the scans we took earlier and tie them in with our current scans."

Coleman pressed a few commands as the Colonel came on the screen. Coleman said, "We're conducting some scans as well, since the Endeavor has some special scanning equipment that might be able to detect something before we get down to Talos IV. We're tying in our earlier scans to see if there has been any unusual changes since our last scans and now. Also, we're bringing up the scans of when Commodore Pike was first here in 2254."


On board Laffey:

IT was the following day aboard when the Laffey and the rest of the group arrived in the Talos System. Ensign K'Wor had the bridge. Commander Winter was enjoying breakfast in the mess hall when the call came. "Bridge to Captain Winter."

Despite James's rank of Commander, tradition dictated that the officer in overall command of a vessel regardless of his or her rank must be called Captain.

"Go ahead Ensign."

"Sir we are arriving the Talos System, Colonel Pike is hailing us."

"On my way, All senior officers report to the bridge."

It didn't take like for Winter to set foot on his bridge, K'Wor vacated the command chair to let Winter sit and K'Wor went back to tactical. Standing in front of his chair he told Thorin, whom also just arrived, "Put Colonel Pike on screen."

The screen showed Pike in his command chair, split screen showed the Captains of the Endeavour and Vanguard as saw fit. The other three were seated in their command chairs.

Brandy arrived and relieved the petty officer that was at the helm. Pike spoke "Ok gentlemen let's see what we can find out before we head down to the surface."

"Of Course Colonel, We've been analyzing the logs Endeavor sent us as well as our own. Doesn't seem like nothing's changed much at all on the surface. Just to be on the safe side I recommend all ships in the group maintain Yellow Alert."


Lee nodded to the other CO's:"Very well and the Saratoga will be running our own scans as well. I want you guys to scan as much as you possible can and give me your results in about 4 hours and let's see what we can find out."

Coleman nodded before saying, "Aye sir, we'll keep running scans until we reach Talos IV. Coleman out." Then, he closed the channel to the other COs
