Alex was spending time with Paul as he was getting ready to leave for Starfleet Academy in a few days. She was feeling a bit depressed about it. She knew that time was coming but not this soon. It seemed like one minute, he was only sixteen and now he was eighteen. She had made Paul his favorite meal and was giving him pointers. She couldn't stop hugging him.

"Mom, mom, enough. It's not like you're never going to see me again. I'll keep in touch." Paul smiled at her, "I promise."

Alex smiled back, "You'd better. I love you and I will miss you."

"I know." Paul snapped his fingers, "Oh, don't forget, I promised Brandon that I would spend some time with him tonight before bedtime." He wasn't leaving for another two days but Brandon was having a hard time about Paul's leaving. So he wanted to spend as much time as he could, splitting his time between his parents and Brandon.

Lee had just left his office after doing the normal paperwork catching up on it after following the Admiral around after Odo came aboard. He arrived at their quarters and punched in the code to open the door. The doors opened and he stepped inside:"Imzadi I'm home."

Alex smiled as she walked towards him, "Hi." She put her arms around his neck and gave him a kiss, "Glad you're home."

"Mom?" Paul stuck his head out from his room, "Oh, hi Lee. Mom, do you need me for anything else? If not, I was going to take Brandon to a movie."

Lee kissed Alex back then looked over at Paul:"Hello Paul"

Alex shook her head, "No, you're free to go. But I do need to talk to you when you get back. Is two hours be enough time for a movie?"

"That important, eh? Sure. See you in two hours then." Paul breezed by both of them and left.

Alex looked at Lee and shrugged, "I'm going to miss that kid."

Lee smiled at Alex:"Yea I'm going to miss him too" Sensing something, he looked deep into her eyes:"Is everything ok Imzadi?"

Alex had something to tell him but she wanted it to be at the right time so she continued to smile and not give anything away, "Everything couldn't be better. Why don't you get changed, take a shower or something then you can tell me all about your day."

Lee looked at her for a minute then nodded:"Ok Imzadi, I'll go take a shower and change." He stepped back away from her then headed off towards the bedroom.

Alex was expecting a delivery and hoped she'd get it before he came out. The chime rang and Alex excitedly answered it. The old fashioned bassinet that she had made to order arrived just in time. Once she checked to make sure that Lee wasn't going to come out of the bedroom anytime soon, she motioned to Admiral T'Lar's yeoman, Lan to roll it into Paul's bedroom. Alex thanked Lan. After she left, Alex began to put dinner on the table as if everything was normal. This was going to be a fun and interesting dinner.

Lee stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist stepping into the bedroom, he was almost tempted to just go out in a towel but decided against it just in case someone dropped by or Paul came back for something. He went over to the closet getting out a pair of black dress pants, socks, boxers. Lee then went over to the chair putting on the clothes, he stood up then went over grabbing a red button up dress shirt putting that on. He then stepped out of the bedroom and went over towards the dinning area:"What's for dinner Imzadi?"

Alex turned around quickly, "Oh, you're done." She began to set the table, "We are having prime rib, potatoes, and a banana cream pie for afterwards. How does that sound?"

Lee walked over putting his arms around Alex for a minute smiling at her:"Sounds good" He then pulled away:"What would you like to drink?"

"A glass of ice tea would be nice." She set the food on the table, then sat down in her chair.

He gave a nod then went to the replicator ordering a glass of ice tea for her and a glass of Jestral tea for himself. Lee grabbed both glasses then walked back to the table placing the ice tea in front of her then sitting down with his drink:"So how was your day Imzadi?"

"It was good. I spent most of the day with Paul, helped him pack and did a little bit of bonding. It seems like yesterday when he came to stay with me and now he's leaving for the academy."

Lee took a sip of tea before answering:"Yea I know....time sure does fly by sometimes." He sat there looking at her.

Alex took a bite of food and then turned her attention back to Lee, " I heard that Odo came aboard. I would've loved to meet him but I thought it better to stay with Paul. So how did your day go?"

After taking a couple bites of food, Lee shrugged:"It wasn't too bad, went with General Hurd to take a Vorta and a couple Jem'Hadar on tour of the Star Base."

"Oh really. Sounds like fun." She wasn't a fan but she could tolerate them.

He blew out a breath:"It wouldn't have been as bad if some people still don't tense up when they see Jem'Hadar." Lee rubbed his temples for a minute.

Alex put her hand on his, "People are afraid of what they don't understand. It isn't every day that you see one of them either. You shouldn't let it bother you so much. There's nothing that you can do about the way people feel."

Lee took a long deep breath:"I know Imzadi, I was just caught off guard by the feelings of some of the people. I should have had my blocks up sooner and I also should work on them more."

"I wish I could help you but I'm afterall, only human." She smiled at him, trying to lighten the mood. She patted his hand before removing it, "You could always ask Deela to work with you. She does a bang up job blocking out emotions and such."

Lee smiled at her:"You help more then you'll ever know" He gave her a smirk:"I'll be ok in no time."

"Good." She continued to eat her food.

After they ate half of their supper he looked at her:"So care to tell me about this surprise?

Alex choked on a bite. She took a sip of her tea, "Um, surprise? I never said anything about a surprise. I have...." Her voice trailed off when Paul walked in. Alex wasn't expecting him for another hour.

Paul sighed as he walked over to his mom, "Hey. What's for dinner?"

Alex set her drink down, "I thought that you'd still be at the movies. What happened?"

Paul sat down in his chair at the table, "Brandon didn't like the movie so he wanted to go home. So I told him that we'd do something different tomorrow."

"Oh, okay." Alex smiled at Paul, "In that case, go ahead and get yourself a plate."

Paul decided to go change before eating. He made his way to his room and disappeared but it only took a few seconds for Paul to come back out and scratching his head, "Mom? Why is there a baby's bed in my room?"

Alex was hoping to wait until after dinner but Paul changed those plans. She smiled impishly, "Well, the baby needs somewhere to sleep."

Paul didn't get it at first,. "Whose baby?" It suddenly dawned on him.

Alex couldn't help but laughed as she looked at both Lee's and Paul's faces.

Lee looked up from his dinner when he heard Paul ask his Mom the question then hearing Alex he turned and looked into her eyes for a moment, his eyes lighting up. He quickly jumped up knocking his chair over, he then grabbed Alex picked her up out of her chair and spinning her around.

Giggling, "Whoa, careful." Paul smiled, "Way to go Mom. Wow, I guess you took my advice." Paul was grinning from ear to ear, "That is so cool. I'm going to be a big brother."

"Yes, very cool. Since you are going to the academy, I thought that I'd use your room for the baby's room if it is okay with you." Alex hoped that he didn't mind.

Paul smiled, "I don't mind. Afterall, I'm not going to be living here anymore. And I'm sure when I come visit you guys, I can stay in the guests quarters."

Alex nodded, "I just don't want you feeling like this baby is putting you out."

"Mom, stop worrying. I'm very okay with it." Paul went and got his food, "I'm going to eat now and let you two be sappy with each other." He picked up his mom's chair with one hand while balancing his plate in the other and disappeared into his room."

Alex just shook her head, "Sappy?" She looked at Lee again with a smile, "We're having a baby!"

Lee stood there holding Alex in the air as she talked to her son, he turned back to her smiling big:"I am so happy that we are Imzadi"He thought about spinning her around more but decided against it, so he just put her down and held her tight:"I love you Mrs.Pike"

Still smiling, "I love you too Mr. Pike."

He looked at her still:"So...who's parents shall we tell first?"

Alex thought for a moment, Yours would probably be easier to get a hold of. Last i heard, my parents were traveling but i'm not sure where. It's been a long time since I talked to them."

He nodded:"Ok we'll go message them" Lee turned around grabbing her hand he then lead her to the other room then sat down at his desk to comm his parents. He reached over pulling Alex onto his lap.

"Now?" She wasn't expecting to tell them this soon.

After a minute his mother answered:"Hello....."

Lee smiled:"Hello Mother, how are you and Father?"

Stacy Pike:"Hello Lee, your Father and I are doing fine. Hello Alex"

Alex smiled "Hi, nice to see you again."

Lee smiled big:"Alex has something to tell you Mother."

Alex looked at him then back at the screen, "I have some great news!" Alex took a deep breath, "Lee and I...are going to have...a baby!" She let out a slight giggle as she watched Lee's mother's expression.

Stacy's eyes got real big and then she gave a almost squeal:"That's so GREAT news! I'm so happy for you two. When are you due Alex? Do you know what you'll be having?"

"I have seven months to go and no, I don't know yet. I'm not sure if I really want to know but that is something we'll have to discuss. I really don't have a preference as long as the baby is healthy."

Stacy nodded:"That's good to know." She then looked at Lee:"I'll inform your father when he gets home from coffee with his friends, we'll try to be there for the birth Lee."

Lee smiled and nodded:"Ok Mother, talk to you soon" He then cut the connection:"So when do you want to contact your parents?"

"There's no time like the present." Alex didn't have to wait long to reach her parents. Her dad's image was looking at her with a smile. "Hey honey, look who it is."

Alex mom squeezed in next to her father, "Hi Hon, Lee. You're both smiling so it can't be bad news. So, what's up?"

Since Lee put her on the spot with his parents, she decided to do the same, "Lee here has some fantastic news. Don't you dear." Alex said playfully.

Lee looked at Alex giving a slight chuckle then turned back to look at his in laws:"Well Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, the good news is that you two will be grandparents again, we have just found out that Alex is pregnant."

Alex's mom clapped, "Oh my god, congratulations you two. I was starting to think that you were never going to have another one." Her dad put his arms around his wife, "It's true. That's all she's been talking about since you got married." Her mom rolled her eyes. "As soon as you have that baby, I will be on the next shuttle there. I can't wait."

Alex chuckled, "I wouldn't have it any other way mom. When it gets close, we'll give you a heads up."

"Okay dear. Lee, you take care of my daughter and that baby she's carrying. Love you both."

Lee nodded:"Don't worry I will take good care of Alex and the baby. Love you also."

Alex smiled, "Love you too."

Her dad leaned in closer, "Congrats again. Give Paul a hug too for us. And tell him congratulations as well. The academy, he's growing up."

Alex nodded, "Yeah, he's not a kid anymore. I'll tell him. Talk to you later." The screen went blank. Alex turned to Lee, "I have a feeling that we are going to be bombarded by family when this baby comes into the world."

Lee chuckled a little:"That's a very large understatement Imzadi."

The two sat there looking at each other enjoying the moment.
