Personal Log; Stardate 65041.9. Lieutenant Commander Robert Smith reporting: We're currently on route to rendezvous with the Laffey, Vanguard, and Saratoga before moving towards the Talos Star Group to retrieve Commodore Pike's remains. I've heard alot about Pike's reputation, interesting that we're the ones to bring him home.

Still, I'm uneasy about this assignment, the Talos Star Group has been at all ends a no-travel zone for Federation craft. Hell I've been in space for a long tour of duty; I'm sure Amy back at Starbase is trying to fit in to her new posting. Hopefully the admiral found a place for her talents.

Just got word of a new assistant chief engineer being posted to Starbase 400. Haven't checked her personnel file yet; but there will be time for that later. Still, being posted to Starbase 400 is no easy task so her assignment to be my 2IC of engineering will be a good one.
