Lt Commander Tressa Brislan
Lieutenant Siaxx Dvald

***** Infirmary - Starbase 400 *****

Lieutenant Siaxx Dvald had to deal with the Chief Medical Officer in her office at zero nine hundred because of a personal problem that had exploded her in her face, her luck with relationships had already been bad and time after time, it blew up because of something or other but most times it was simply her fault.

She feared commitment and what being around others could mean for her but it was also in part due tot he after effects of the Dominion War where he first love had killed himself because he was trapped by fallen debris, she couldn't get and could only watch him burn to death so he took the easy way out.

She raged over his choice to do it for years afterwards and now it seemed she would need to deal with a private issue in public again, it was why she had demanded a transfer from her last commanding officer, it was why she was on Starbase 400 in the first place.

She looked at the chronometer as it read. "Zero Eight, Fifty Three" as she sighed, a nurse came over to her. "Doctor, we finished loading the supplies on the Venator and the Saratoga as requested... what's next?"

"See Doctor Roman for new instructions. My day is about to get ugly."

"You okay?" the younger woman inquired.

"No... and I can't talk about it." she sighed softly

The Ensign nodded. "Alright... I'll leave you to it then sir." and with that the younger woman moved off, leaving Siaxx alone with the PADD in her hands but then Siaxx looked like the picture of something of what not to do, her eyes were dark and bloodshot and she looked like she was well and truly enraged except she wasn't angry, more rather she was exhausted, she had not bothered with any makeup like eye shadow because the dark shadows under her eyes would be telling.

The clock stuck Oh Nine Hundred as she handed the PADD to the nurse.
"Process this please, I need to go see a man about a horse."

The nurse nodded. "Sure." and with that Siaxx went over to the office door where she knew that Tressa was located, yawning as she did so. "Mmm... I hate being allergic to caffeine." she blinked as she zoned out for a moment as she hit the door chime, knowing she needed to get this over with.

"Enter."

Siaxx stepped forward as she shoulder checked the door, causing her to grunt in pain. "Mmm..." she quickly shrugged it off as she caught sight of herself in the bulkhead wall across the room, she must have looked like hell.

"Good morning Siaxx," Tressa said, her expression neutral. "Please have a seat."

Siaxx half sat and half fell into a chair as she sighed softly, her eyes were bloodshot bright blue rather then red as her skin tone was blue. "You wanna see me?" the Bolian mumbled.

Tressa's eyes moved across Siaxx clinically as she sat down, but it didn't take a doctor to see that the woman wasn't feeling well. "Rough night?"

"No... I don't drink.." Siaxx raised an eyebrow. "No... Phoenix and I talked.. most of the night, no drinking and no... no fighting..." she regarded Tressa. "She doesn't have my issues with caffeine so she can down that stuff like its going out of style and I feel like I'm hung over."

"You don't look well, have you eaten?"

"As soon as this watch is done. I'm going home and I'm going to bed.." she commented. "but enough of my issues.... you didn't call me in here for a chat..." Siaxx was clearly too tired for a long winded chat or anything else for that matter. "We both know why I'm here..."

"Well I do anyway," Tressa said as she stood up and walked around her desk, taking the seat next to Siaxx. "I have some questions for you."

Siaxx blinked her eyes open. "Mmmm... what's on your mind?"

"First, why would you ever ask me about something that happened between me and a patient? There isn't a doctor here who would violate privilege, including you. Outside of a medical consult it is forbidden even to ask!"

"Usualy, I wouldn't dream of asking but.. Phoenix has a history and I keep hearing crap about her which is not true, she said she's this dark person but... I know better..." she sighed. "contrary to popular opinion, she has a conscience."

"If Phoenix discusses something that is her right, and if she wanted or even wants to file charges that is her right. I, I'm only human, Siaxx, I make mistakes."

"If Phoenix was going to charge you, she would have done it by now... so I don't think she ever will... but oh you should hear her speak of you when your name comes up in chat... she thinks the world of you." Siaxx slowly smiled. "But you want to know why I'm so angry... and I can't say this around Torilla otherwise she'll go insane and that's enough to terrify me."

"Are you certain you can say it to me?"

"This stays between you and me.... because it concerns Phoenix and her connection to the father of her daughter, Aryssa." she explained. "Warden Yeager is the father and he's coming here at some point in the near future."

Tressa felt a chill run down her spine. "He is coming to this Starbase? Do you know when?"

"I don't have exact dates but... I would like an assignment that takes me as far away from him as possible when he is here.... because my judgement is clouded."

Tressa nodded and sat back in her chair. "I see..."

"You asked what was bothering me sir." Siaxx responded softly. "I couldn't say it at dinner because it would have caused far more harm then good... Torilla would have demolished everything in her path to get to this guy... she's very protective of her friends and family and.... I have been very unkind to her of late."

The human raised an eyebrow at Siaxx's comment. "Based on what I've heard of this warden I wouldn't stand in Torilla's way."

"I don't want to be in the same section for when she looses it.." she paused. "However... I'll ask Phoenix when he's arriving and maybe she can give me better information on the matter..." she paused. "then I can take steps to sort my head out..."

"Do we know why he is coming? Does Admiral Bremer know?"

"All I know is that he's coming... I have no idea why or if the Admiral even knows.. I get the impression that Phoenix and this guy have history." she paused. "That also bothers me... "

Tressa nodded. "Siaxx, I can understand your desire to be away. I think you are due for leave, Doctor, shall we say two weeks? To begin when necessary, of course," she added, typing on her PADD.

"That would be wonderful but.... I can't leave Phoenix here to face him alone." she paused. "I can't leave her to face him alone... he has far too much power over her..."

The human frowned. "I can't grant her leave, but I can speak to her superior officer. To whom does she report?"

"I believe the base first officer.... Admiral T'Lar.." she paused. "But it would not help matters and in fact cause more harm then good.... as I believe the Warden is playing games with Phoenix's family because he wants something from her.." she quivered gently but it wasn't with cold, more rather it was pure stone cold rage.

"That is outrageous!"

"But I do know that I need to do something before the Warden gets here because..." she paused a moment. "When I get done with him.... dreadful devices will be so in use and dreadful acts so commonplace that mothers can't help but smile as they behold their infants quartered on the devices of war." she was quoting Shakespeare but the point had been made.

"We must tell Admiral Bremer, he won't let anything happen to Phoenix," Tressa said, reaching for her terminal.

Siaxx surprised herself by shaking her head. "No... we don't know when he's coming and I don't want to spook him into doing something stupid until after he gets here.... Contacting the Admiral now will only scare him away... Besides... he does have a legitimate reason to be here... as much as it enrages me.... Aryssa... is his daughter."

"He's a rapist! Legitimate reason be damned, I won't let him hurt Phoenix!"

Siaxx nodded as she tiredly blinked her dark blue eyes. "Now you know why I'm so angry about it..." she paused. "if Torilla finds out who this guy is... he won't leave the starbase with his mind intact...". despite the fact it was quite warm in the office, Siaxx shivered. "and you know how she is... she seems to find out everything that happens on base.." she sighed softly.

Tressa just watched her for a moment, thinking it all through.

"You've had a difficult night, Siaxx, I'll cover your shift today. Get some rest, doctor."

Siaxx considered fighting with the smaller human woman regarding work but she in the end decided not to press the issue, despite the fact that it went against her Bolian sense of pride and against her work ethic. "Alright... I won't argue... if anyone asks though, you relieved me of duty for one day because I hit on you and you didn't like it."

Tressa smiled at that; typical Siaxx. She just shook her head.

"You are dismissed, doctor."

Siaxx went to stand up but just fell back into her chair. "Well.. that didn't work out...so well.." she sighed softly as she then heaved herself to her feet. "Yeah... I need sleep." she paused. "anything else we need to discuss before I stagger and stumble out of here?" she paused as she hauled herself up to her feet for the second time. "Right..." and with that she showed herself the door
