Mission:
Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Starbase 400, Briefing Room
Timeline: MD1 1315hrs, Following 'Briefing aboard SB400'
ON:
A few hours had passed since the Staff meeting on Starbase 400. Roebuck had sent Doctor Romans a meeting request, and marked it to be held in the Briefing Room on Level 1, 'behind' Ops.
The Briefing Room hadn't been used as much lately as it normally was. With so many important away missions, Tactical Operations had been used for mission briefings because of it's capability to hold more people and it's larger display screen. In this case however, a private two person informal meeting didn't need the big 'CiC', so the Briefing Room was perfect...
Roebuck arrived before the Doctor. This was only the third time he'd even been in the Briefing Room in his year aboard Starbase 400, and two of those times were in the last few hours. He looked at the models of the Pegasus-B, Yorktown-F, Luna-A, Essex-B, Lexington-D, and Venator flanked the main display screens on the front wall, while the back 'wall' was actually a series of windows looking out over the top of Starbase 400 and toward Kaleb IV beyond.
After a moment of 'touring' the room, Roebuck sat the PADD he was holding on the table and took a seat to wait for Romans to arrive.
Romans rushed through the doors and looked around. He had received the meeting requests in time, but was rushing through making sure his staff was prepared for the upcoming visitors. He notice the Commander and proceeded towards him. "Commander Roebuck," he said as he approached the Commander.
Roebuck reached out to shake the new Doctor’s hand, “Thank you for coming, please have a seat. Have you had a chance to settle into your Quarters yet?”
Romans took the Commanders hand and proceeded to shake it. "I have attempted to settle in sir. But there are still a few boxes I need to get unpacked." He said sitting down in the seat, and placing his PADD on the table.
Roebuck also took a seat, "I know how that is, all too well. Have you had a chance to check in on Sick Bay? I know Doctor Brislen is away on the Essex, but Doctor Mclintock should be able to assist you."
"I have gotten to look around. For the most part its a standard sickbay. I've been inundated with reports and purchase orders the last few hours, and then after the Briefing I started preparing for the VIP's. I have the staff turning Sickbay 2 into the Emergency Sickbay for the Councillors. I have my staff coordinating with Security to have medication under tight control for that location to ensure the Councillors safety." Jason said, as he crossed his legs and became a little more relaxed in front of the Commander.
"Sounds good." Medical aid was not Roebuck's strong suite, but securing medication was a wise course of action.
"Is there anything you need at this time?" Roebuck asked.
Romans let the question sink in. Truthfully he hadn't had much time to think what he might need at this point. "Not that I know of right now as far as my position, I have sickbay in full control; however, I would like to know a little bit more of the requirements you would like to have out of me while he CMO is away on Mission. From my understanding while the Councillors are here, I will be ACMO."
Roebuck leaned back, with the Station's Senior Officers away everyone was having to step up. "That's correct, until Doctor Brislan is back, you are the Acting CMO. I was have the SickBays, Triage Wards, ect to be standing by...just in case one of the Council Members chocks on their lunch." Roebuck let a smirk cross his lips.
Romans chuckled, "well hopefully that doesn't happen. We have set aside Sickbay 2 for that sir, along with medical equipment that is being kept in secure lockup for their use."
Roebuck nodded, "Very well. If there is anything you need until the Admiral returns, let me know."
He stood up, picked up the PADD, gave a respectful nod and left the Briefing Room.
Romans stood quickly as the Commander stood and exited, after which he grabbed the PADD he had brought to the meeting, and proceeded towards the door.
