Honeymoon

Mission: Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: Alex and Lee's quarters on SB 400
Timeline: MD1 2140hrs - 'En route to Risa'

Lee was in their quarters packing his things for the honeymoon trip to Risa. He had already spoken to Maal and if Alex and Paul was ok with it then Maal would watch over Paul while they where away.

Alex was seeing her parents off. As she was coming back to her quarters, she saw Brislan in a hurry. Alex had heard a rumor but wasn't sure so she asked her if it was true. Brislan unwillingly and reluctantly answered her, not wanting to ruin her honeymoon. The Essex was about to leave so there was no time to talk to Deela so Alex left her a message of condolences.

He sensed her enter their quarters but didn't look up or look back:"Did your family get off ok?"

"Um, yes they did." She was a little upset at the news but knew that Deela would never forgive herself for ruining her honeymoon.

"That's good they did, Maal said he would watch over Paul if you would like while we where gone."

"That's fine. Maal is the perfect person for the job. I probably should get packed."

Lee sighed then turned to look at Alex, a sadness in his eyes:"Am sorry for the loss of Deela's husband."

"I can't believe it. This is the third husband she has lost. I wish she had told me so that I could give her some support but I understand why she didn't tell me. So, I am going to do exactly that...enjoy our honeymoon. She wouldn't want it any other way." She started to pack.

He nodded:"I know Imazadi, maybe she should just now take time for herself and her kids and let them heal."

"Maybe."

Lee turned back around and closed his suitcase then set it on the floor before walking over to Alex:"Would you like some help packing?"

"No, I think I have it. I just need to pack a few more odds and ends then I'll be ready. It should only take me five minutes at the most." She smiled at him, "But thanks for asking."

Alex finished packing her stuff and set it on the floor next to his. She was excited to get away and enjoy their time away from ship business. She walked up to Lee and put her arms around his neck, "Ready to get out of here?"

Lee smiled and put his arms around his new wife:"I am for sure ready."

"Me too. It's been long enough."

He took her hand and then grabbed their bags and headed out towards the shuttle."Anyone you want to say bye to before we leave?"

"I've already said goodbye to Paul and everyone else is already away for the new mission. How about you? Anyone?"

Lee shook his head:"No have already spoke with Maal and had a short conversation with Admiral Bremer so should be good to go."

"Good. Let's get out of here before something stops us from going." They left their quarters and made their way to the shuttle. Alex was excited to finally get going.

Lee smiled as they headed for the shuttle walking holding hands as he carried their bags. They reached the shuttle:"Do you want to do the pre flight check on the shuttle while I put the bags away?"

"Sure." She started the preflight check, making sure the shuttle was ready to take off. Once satisfied, "Starbase 400, permission to depart."

"Permission granted. Enjoy your honeymoon Captain..." The voice trailed off, not sure how to address her.

Alex looked at her husband with a smile, "Take us out Mr. Pike."

Lee smiled back at Alex:"Ok Mrs.Pike" He then took the shuttle up off the ground and then headed out of the shuttle bay and headed out towards space.

Alex smiled at Lee as she settled into her seat.

"Ok here we go" Lee said as he punched in the route to Risa at Warp 5 and then the shuttle took off towards Risa.

Alex sat and listened, "Do you hear that?"

"Hear what? I don't hear a thing."

"Exactly. Nothing but the sound of the shuttle's engine. No orders, missions, Paul...nothing."

Lee smiled then put the shuttle on auto pilot before leaning back in his chair and smiling looking over at Alex:"So how does it feel so far to be Mrs.Pike?"

Alex smiled, "It feels...right." It seemed like a dream and if it was, she hoped that nobody would wake her up.

He smiled at her and then reached over to hold her hand:"True it does feel very right."

Alex returned his smile.

"I see that Paul and Rachael are getting pretty close."

"A little too close. She's a lot younger than him. I'm just afraid that they are going to get very serious and when he goes to the Academy, Rachel will move on." She added, "Relationships are hard enough when you're at that age, long distance ones are even harder."

Lee nodded as he looked at her:"Yea true but you never know, maybe it might make the relationship stronger with the long distance."

"Her abilities are also getting stronger and I just don't know if Paul will be ready to handle it. But, it'll be a great learning experience."

He rose from his seat and headed towards the back:"Are you hungry?"

"I'm getting there. All this excitement, I haven't even thought about my stomach." Alex glanced a smiled at him.

He stood at the replicator then looked at her and smiled:"What would you like to eat Imzadi?"

Alex shrugged, "I don't know. Surprise me."

He chuckled:"You always say surprise me, and one of these days I'm really going to serve you gagh."

"You wouldn't dare." She caught his eyes. Her eyes widened as her smile disappeared, "Would you?"

He gave a smirk:Oh I so would and I would serve it live like it's suppose to be."

"Okay. Well then how about a nice lobster tail with tons of butter, rice pilaf and seasoned broccoli? Or better yet, maybe a 16 oz porterhouse steak with potatoes and a vegetable?" She was kidding of course, "Second thought, I'd rather have that when we get to Risa. Actually, a cup of Broccoli and cheddar cheese cream soup sounds really good right now."

He just shook his head and ordered the soup from the replicator. He brought the soup for her along with a giant salad for himself.

"Thank you." She laughed, "You should see the look on your face right now. It's priceless. You have to admit that both of those sound really good." She watched him take a bite of his rabbit food.

Lee shrugged then looked at Alex:"Hey there is nothing wrong with a salad once in awhile."

Alex looked at him and broke out in laughter. She stopped and continued eating her soup.

He gives her a funny look before sticking out his tongue and then going back to his salad.

Alex rolled her eyes as she took another spoonful of her soup. Once finished, she disposed of her bowl. "That hit the spot. Not much longer and we'll be on Risa." Alex sits back in her seat, "I am so ready to get out of this shuttle."

Lee finished his salad then turned to the controls:"We should be arriving at Risa in a couple minutes."

"Finally."

"Coming out of warp now" Lee touched the controls and the shuttle came out of warp near Risa.

Alex watched as Risa became big as life. It seemed like they had been in the shuttle forever.
