Learning the truth

447 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Mission 75 - Time of Change
Location: USS Endeavor-Bridge

On:

Commander Coleman sat up as he saw the ship come out of warp and he saw what was left of the planet that used to be home to the Romulan Star Empire. He was awe dropped when he saw it and he didn't realize it was that bad. He looked over at Major T'Lana really quick and said, "So, this is all that's left?"

T`Lana arched her eyebrow in a manner similar to Vulcans. She'd seen scans of the area after the supernova but his was her first look at her home... "It appears so."

She looked back at the sensors, "There are nineteen Warbirds in the area, and I'm sure some others that are still cloaked. I recommend we maintain our cloak and get what scans we can and depart the area soon.

There was next to nothing left. The blackhole that Ambassador Spock created had swallowed up the supernova itself, as well as the vast majority of the debris from the destroyed planets, ships, and stations in the system. The Romulan Major figured the Star Empire would soon build a battlestation in the area to protect their former home, and to send a clear signal to the other powers in the Galaxy that this was still their sovereign space.

She looked up and toward Coleman, "Commander, with the scans I have already taken, I can confirm the Enterprise-E's story on what happened here. I can also confirm there is no trace of what, where, or when Ambassador Spock's ship, or the Mining vessel Narada commanded by Nero are now. The entire system is filled with background radiation from the supernova and momentary blackhole. Couple that with the number of ships that have come in and out of the system since the event and it makes tracing them nearly impossible. However, both of their ion trails end where the blackhole's event horizon would of been."

Coleman sighed and said, "Appears they got sucked into the black hole that was created to try and save Romulus. Dang." He tapped a few commands, getting some last minute readings on what was left of Romulus and said, "Well, it appears there's nothing more to be done, except try and learn from everything and head home. Helm, take us home."

Then, the Helm officer changed course after a few last minute scans and started the journey home.

Coleman pondered about it for a minute, trying to gain some insight on what might have happened to Ambassador Spock and Nero. One could only ponder.
