Lieutenant Siaxx Dvald sighed softly as she had finished her plate of desert as she picked up the datapad she had loaned from the Starbase Library, it was a novel from Earth's literature, one she found fascinating if a little florid.
'The Lord of the Rings' by J.R.R. Tolkien and she had managed to slog her way to page fifty when she saved it and placed the PADD back down as she sighed, old English was a little too florid for her reading tastes yet several of the humans in medical had sworn she'd love it.
Siaxx began plotting how she would exact her payment because she was not enjoying this novel as they said she would as she raised an eyebrow at the name of Barad-dûr and Orodruin also known as Mount Doom.
"One has to really love knowing every detail to like his stuff," Phoenix pointed out as she gleaned on what Siaxx was reading.
Siaxx raised an eyebrow as she glanced up at Phoenix. "Indeed... but do have a seat and enhance my evening.." she grinned up at the human woman. "you look bored.." the Bolian commented with a smile, she wasn't as allergic to Phoenix as others seemed to be.
"Usually am. Tis why I go bar hoppin' a lot," Phoenix answered dryly. "Green Dragon barkeep told me I couldn' come back there until I paid for the damages done to his mechanical bull... Though I really don' remember what I done to it."
Siaxx smiled as she indicated the three chairs. "Pick one... and let me tell you what you did..." she commented with a smile, clearly what followed was going to be good as the Bolian had the look like the cat who ate the bird.
"So what did I do," Phoenix asked as she took the nearest seat to her.
"You began cheering as you wrapped your arms and legs around it and held on for dear life... the guys were taking bets and.... I won." she smiled evilly at the other woman. "trouble was.... you were so drunk that it threw you off as I won... that you got up and kicked it once." Siaxx explained. "you won me thirty bars of latinum." her grin widened.
"That would explain why my ass is so sore," Jillian grimaced slightly as she rubbed her cheeks. "Glad ta know you got rich off it."
"I need not worry for cash for a long time." Siaxx smiled. "But it was worth it though.... you were highly entertaining, hammered out of your mind but you hung on for over two minutes." the Bolian snickered. "The barkeeper of the Green Dragon needs to get laid.." she added as if stating a well known fact.
"He does have great booze though," Phoenix admitted in longing. "Seedy place. Few fleeters come there... which makes me wonder why you ended up there?"
Siaxx smiled enigmatically at the other woman. "I like the ambiance.... the men like me as they know I can sort them out after fights and the like.." she explained evenly as a grin appeared on the Bolian's face. "The Bartender is an intresting case."
"You didn' seem impressed with tha guys, in the hospital the other day," Phoenix noted conversationally, yet with a hint of skepticism. "...Yet you want conversation with me. I take it I aint like most humans you seen before?"
"Nope.... You speak your mind, regardless of who you're speaking to. I respect that." Siaxx responded evenly.
"That's cause I got nothin' to lose," Phoenix noted bitterly as she made a grand sweep in the air. "Station's littered with families of officers here. Support systems. Social systems set up where the moms watch their behavior, so they can be the PTA presidents, the soccer coaches, or whatever else people with families care about. So for me? I've no kids. No mate. No family about to support me. No need to impress anyone in any social circle. So I have no reason to cull my behavior, cuz they aint a social ladder I want to climb here."
Siaxx waved her hand as if dismissing a pest. "Bah, who cares... you get out of this place what you want to get out of it.." she commented. "Who cares if you don't get on with everyone and grovel for their understanding when things go badly... Torilla was the one who taught me much in the ways of getting along with others.... in order to do that... I must first get along with myself."
The Bolian looked or almost peered at the Human Major. "Yet.. you don't .... do you?"
"Most folks think it's self pity I wallow in," Phoenix shrugged dismissively. "I do loath myself. But pity isn't even close to explainin' it. Cuz I don' want pity from anyone... Self-destructive anger, I think is what best describes why I live through pain and drink myself into numbness a lot."
Siaxx raised an eyebrow as she regarded the Major. "Pity is not a word I would use with you." she commented evenly. "Self-Hatred... that suits you much better..." she sighed as she sipped her drink. "Your body language tells me as much..."
"I used ta observe a lot myself," Phoenix admitted quietly. "Now all I care 'bout is gettin' through a workday so I can get plastered enough ta forget 'bout it."
"Sounds like you need more people around who actually care about what you think." she commented as she raised a hand, within seconds a waitress appeared. "A Bottle of Black Bush Irish whiskey, two glasses and Ice..."
"My ancestors were Irish. I should," Phoenix retorted with a grin.
"You'll like Irish whiskey." Siaxx smiled.
"I'm in the fleet cause of an agreement I made with JAG and the Federation courts - Kill Cardassians for them durin' the last war, and stay out of prison," Phoenix finally spoke with frustration. "Since they are no longer enemies, I find myself with no enemy I personally see the point in fightin'. But I cannot resign without likely going back to prison. So it drives me bonkers, wearin' your uniform, feel'n like I aint gettin' anythin' out of it."
"They are not enemies... for now my dear... only for now." Siaxx responded evenly. "until they join the Federation, they will always be against us." she added.
"Still... I'm a warrior with no cause ta fight for. You're a doc with all sorts of reasons ta fix folks," Phoenix noted, tapping the table nervously with the tips of her right fingers.
"Well... they are doing research into growing new limbs... I can look into it for you should you desire."
"Not everyone is a candidate for limb replacement though," Phoenix reminded the enthusiastic doctor.
"I will look into it for you...." Siaxx commented with a smile.
"I don' want a new limb," the pilot corrected very firmly.
"As you wish." Siaxx replied evenly, clearly less then intimidated. "Is it because of the downtime it'll require or something else?"
"You seen the scar tissue on my arm," Phoenix spoke pointedly. "The blood poison that made me sick, weakened my immune system an' cell production. So havin' a new limb, or a prosthetic that looks like a new limb, will just add to the scars."
The handsome Bolian nodded her head for she had indeed seen the scars.
"Indeed... but should you change your mind.... I can make those scars go away..... the physical ones anyway.."
"Trust me... You can'. Side-effect of long-term exposure to merilite. It saturates the skin, breakin' down the skin cell regrowth. It's why many workin' in the mines I was in, go bald an' heal slower under dermal regeneration, and many have a worse skin cancer than melanoma. It's a poison, in airborne form, that has irreparable damage to the lungs, kidneys, an' eventually the brain - if exposed to it long enough."
And also a reason holograms worked in official mines. Phoenix knew the prison she was from, operated illegally, but not many Federation brass knew about it. And the ones that did, did not care, because of what the prison population was made of.
Phoenix took her drink from the waitress and began to drink on it. "Just some things you can' fix, Doc... I live in pain an' I accept it."
Siaxx raised an eyebrow. "Then I can at least help you in other ways." she accepted her own drink. "Ahhh.... Yoo Hoo Yoo Hoo.... Its the life of a pirate for me..." and with that she lifted the glass to her lips and poured the contents. "Ahhh...." she smiled. "Steal everything and give nothing back!"
"Yeah.... It's Yo-Ho." Phoenix shook her head in disbelief. "An' don't sing that in the Green Dragon. That's a bit... over-the-top."
"Most of the time, I don't sing for anyone." the Bolian woman responded evenly. "Besides... I try to be more then just a face in the crowd."
"That's not a bad thing... If you're a good guy," Phoenix admitted. "But it gets ta be a burden when folks hold you to an image that's not you. You either do nothin' ta change that, or spend a lot of time tryin' ta repair it."
"Exactly." Siaxx responded. "If you have to drink to forget your day.... no need to do it alone anymore, come look for me..... I will make it worth your while." the Bolian smiled.
"If I drink with random people, an' sleep with them, I'm less likely ta get tied down," Phoenix explained gently. "You're a lovely blue goddess I'd love ta explore some time. But I aint a relationship gal."
Siaxx chuckled softly. "Oh I never said I wanted a relationship... I prefer being single.... less aggravation and less stress... I'll live longer.." she said in response to the first statement as she turned a deep shade of blue to the second, it wasn't often she had someone say something like that on any level whatsoever. "Why thank you."
"Statin' a fact," Phoenix shrugged aside, and took a swig of her drink. "So you propose'n a friends-with-benefits sorta setup?"
Siaxx raised an eyebrow as a smile slowly graced her lips. "Sure.... if you wish..."
"Should be a mighty fine romp then," Phoenix spoke hopefully, then took another swig of booze.
"You'll find out." Siaxx chuckled softly as she sipped her drink. "Besides.. I can make it memorable."
It was lust in general, really, which compelled Phoenix to lean in and kiss the blue goddess passionately on the lips in the moment. As usual, Phoenix went all-in on the things she wanted. And at that moment, she wanted that connection to someone she was physically attracted to.
Siaxx's eyes opened slightly wider as the human woman kissed her on the lips as she found herself returning the kiss with one of her own. "Mmm..." as she was suddenly reminded of the Chief Engineer from her last posting, the USS F Scott Fitzgerald, one Lt Commander Renee Mitchell. "We should carry on this conversation...elsewhere.." the Bolian commented softly.
"Oh I agree wholeheartedly, Goddess," Phoenix purred as she gave Siaxx one more kiss. "That's ta hold ya fer the road."
Siaxx had never been called a 'goddess' before as she rose to her feet in one elegantly smooth motion. "Mmm." she smiled at the human woman. "your place...or mine?"
"If you don' like messy, then yours," Phoenix suggested with a very hungry grin.
"My place it is.." she responded evenly. "Come on then.." she plucked the PADD off of the table as she turned and walked out the door, she knew the human woman followed at her heels.
Phoenix was never really fond of relationships. But as she followed the young doc, this interesting symbiosis she was forging with Siaxx actually had a fun, mysterious appeal to it. Granted, most on the station probably would not get it, but then again, human relationships were not as complex as many other races of the quadrant. And that was probably why Phoenix tended to have such a large carnal appetite for aliens.
Bolians were generally laid back and very easygoing, they also didn't hold onto too many attachments except those of family and even those were flexible. Siaxx led Phoenix down the Promenade and off down a side hallway towards a turbolift which the two women entered.
"Deck Sixty, Section Ninety Two." Siaxx commented as the lift got started.
"You smell perdy," Phoenix commented as she smelled the back of Siaxx's neck. The pilot smelled of booze (which came out of her pores from drinking so much) and often sweat because she generally sweat a lot in her cockpit.
Given enough time, Phoenix could shower and get the stench of a hard day out of her, but the alcohol scent was yet another major issue for her. It would probably take a while to detox it out of her completely.
"I tend to shower a lot." the Bolian answered evenly. "Maybe a long hot shower would help you unwind after a long hard day of shit." she commented. "Force of habit I guess.."
"Human gals mostly use perfumes and sprays that smell horrible, in my opinion... We don' smell near as perdy as your folk," Phoenix admitted, then sniffed her jumpsuit with a nod of approval. "Suppose I could go with a shower romp."
"Sounds like fun" the Bolian replied evenly. "It will be... fascinating."
Phoenix took the glove off her metal hand and flexed it in deep thought. It felt cold to touch with most folk. But there was just no way around not using it to play with Siaxx. "Hand isn't gonna bother your skin, is it?"
"Depends.." Siaxx responded. "the prosthetic... is it cold?"
"It can be. More so in space," Phoenix answered a tad timidly, for she did not want that to be a major turn-off.
The Bolian raised an eyebrow. "Mm...." she mused as she walked down the hallway, the human woman behind her. "It'll warm up in the shower... of that, I'm sure."
Phoenix had a bounce in her step as she followed Siaxx to the doc's quarters. She was not normally this excited when she paid for a carnal service, so to say Phoenix was in a good mood? Was an understatement.
"I often fly CAP in the afternoons, so I can sleep in a bit, when I get hangovers," Phoenix added as she pat her flightsuit.
"Ahh.." Siaxx commented as they reached their destination. "Will you be wanting to stay the night...?" she inquired, it was a fair question.
"We'll play it by ear," Phoenix promised with a huge, toothy grin.
"I do have more then one bunk, just in case." Siaxx commented with a smile as they walked into her quarters and all things considered, they were rather Spartan with only a few trinkets scattered around to show that someone lived here rather then empty quarters. "Anyway... the bathroom is through that door and my room is first on the left." Siaxx explained as she slipped off her jacket and boots. "Ahh much better..." she commented.
Piece by piece, Phoenix left a trail of dirty clothes on her way to the shower. Once she was in, she turned the shower on to the old-fashioned mode. Water pouring from the shower head above, and running down Jillian's body. It actually felt good, letting the warm water seep into her skin.
"You gonna join me?" Phoenix called out as she braced her arms in the front of the shower, and let the water run down her back.
"Sure.." the Bolian commented evenly. "Give me a moment." she added as she slipped off her clothing until she was wearing nothing whatsoever and then she scooped up her clothing as she tossed it into a basket nearby that was clearly left for this purpose, clearly Siaxx was anything but a messy housekeeper.
She then turned to admire the human woman. "Mmm.." as a smile spread across the Bolian's face. "Nice." and with that she stepped into the shower to join the human woman within.
"So a bunk bed?" Phoenix asked out of curiosity, then began to kiss lightly on the right side of the Bolian's neck while she caressed the woman's bald head with her fleshed hand. "You aint got a full bed in this place, Goddess?"
The Bolian sighed softly, clearly it had been quite some time since she had done this. "Only me..."
"Relax," Phoenix spoke soothingly. She was very different now, herself. No burdens, no shields up. The pilot was even gentle as she lathered up a loofah and began to wash Siaxx's back. "I've done this many times. So you're in good hands."
Siaxx raised an eyebrow as she blinked, she then breathed out slowly as she relaxed. "Alright.... its been awhile for me.." she admitted. "I tend to... not play well with others."
"I don' either," Phoenix grinned mischievously. "But I can play well just fine with you, Goddess."
The Bolian leaned against the shower wall as she looked at her reflection in the wall, she smiled. "I can make allowances for good behavior." she then smiled at Phoenix as she felt the other woman wash her back with a sponge. "Ahh....." she sighed softly.
"This is the first time in six years I aint been drunk, when romp'n," Phoenix admitted semi-nervously as she continued to sooth the Bolian's back.
"Drunk sex I find is just terrible.... " Siaxx turned to face the human woman who was better looking then she would have guessed as a smile graced her lips. "Mm... very nice."
"You're nice too," Phoenix purred back, then kissed Siaxx very tenderly on the lips.
Siaxx gently pushed Phoenix against the wall as she returned her kiss with a much deeper one of her own. "Mmm..." clearly she was enjoying herself.
Phoenix raised her head back to let Siaxx devour her neck. As she did this, the pilot also took in the warm water hitting her face. "Mmm... Yeah... better than... a whore," Phoenix surmised joyfully.
Siaxx traced a line of kisses across the human woman's neck, she was gentle but there was something demanding in how she did it. "Don't think about that.... just think of the two of us, here and now.." she smiled at the human.
The double meaning there gave Phoenix only a small moment of pause. But she was quick to get back on track. What she wanted, was to carry Siaxx to her bed and feast upon that blue body.
That might of been why Phoenix began to move her hands a bit roughly on Siaxx's hips. She felt she could be a good lover, with all that suppressed passion she had for life. But the friend part of the arrangement is what made Phoenix nervous.
"Not... great... at friendships," Phoenix panted as she began to lather herself up in soap. "Could try... with you."
"One day at a time." Siaxx replied evenly as she plucked a sponge off of the shelf as she began to gently wash Phoenix's back.
"So why aint a gal like you hitched yet?" Phoenix asked out of curiosity, arching her back with delight.
Siaxx raised an eyebrow. "Nobody really wanted me." she responded. "Most men don't seem to like girls who don't take relationships seriously."
"Most human males grow up in a society where relationships aren' open. Just a guy an' a gal ta keep the family name going," Phoenix explained gently. "A very closed-minded group, us humans can be." At that, Phoenix gave her date an apologetic grin. "Not your fault, Goddess."
"Yes... I noticed." Siaxx responded evenly. "You humans... such a closed minded attitude which has not helped you're species grow and develop." the Bolian commented evenly. "Doesn't help that most humans still hold onto the attitudes they got from their so called Middle Ages.." the Bolian rolled her eyes. "foolish if you ask me."
Phoenix began to message Siaxx's shoulders, as she let the Bolian wash her. "Well I aint one of 'em... Though many of my kind would still say I'm closed-minded in other things."
"I noticed." Siaxx responded. "Not that I'm complaining though." she sighed softly.
"Colony life is very different from big-world life," Phoenix went on to explain rather relaxed. "Ya aint got much in high-tech. So ya gotta farm, an' that's a good thing. Because the food tastes very different and natural, compared to replicator stuff."
"Its more flavourful." Siaxx responded. "I came from one of Bolaruses colonies... Venture.... one of three dozen that we have and protect." she commented. "Venture is our second homeworld but its still a rustic life and one learns to handle anything from everything."
"Sounds like my home," Phoenix smiled in bittersweet memory. Then she laid her head on Siaxx's chest so she could listen to the other woman's heart beat against the showered water. "I'd love to hear more about it."
Siaxx gently slipped her arms around the other woman's shoulders as she gently held her against her. "Well... most of the time the weather is pretty decent until the height of summer then the storm season begins."
"Raxus Prime was my home," Phoenix noted almost mournfully. "Had trees you could build small villages in. An' it had rollin' hills an' rained a lot. Cool. Never really hot or cold."
"Then the Cardassian's came.... basterds.." she sighed.
"Dominion raped Cardassia Prime of much of its resources so I see it as karma," Jillian laughed a tad too darkly than she intended. After which she caressed Siaxx's cheek with her metal hand. "You read up on me or somethin'? Cause not many outsiders know 'bout Raxus."
At that point, Phoenix shook her head like a wet dog to get a lot of the water out of her medium-length strawberry blond hair.
"I make it a policy to read up on anyone who does hazardous duty." she explained. "Marines and Starfighters were at the top of my list.... I make it a habit to have some idea of how to talk to the danger magnets in this place."
"Then I should get ta know you too," Phoenix countered with a playful, hungry grin. Then began to massage Siaxx's back. "Wanna play now?"
Siaxx smiled as she regarded the human. "I'm going to make you scream."
