Location: Ops/Admirals Office
Timeline: After Bad News

Jewel was going to wait until after the wedding to talk to Mike, but she thought it was better to talk to him now. Jewel walked onto Ops and walked to Mike's Office and took a deep breathe. She pressed the door chime and waited for a response

"Enter." Mike said as he wondered if this day of meetings would ever end...

She walked into Mike's office it showed she was troubled she tried to hid it but it wasn't working at all. "Mike I need to talk to you," she said.

"What's on your mind?" He asked as he sat up a little taller.

Taking a deep breathe not sure how she was going to say this without crying again. "Mike, after the wedding I need to take some Leave of Absence for a few days. Need to go back to Earth..." she started then stopped for a moment she got up and walked over to the window looking out. She really didn't want Mike to see her cry.

"I got some bad news from my aunt last night..." She stated as a tear ran down her face.

Mike walked over and placed his hand on her shoulder, "Take the time you need. Is there anything we can do?"

She closed her eyes for a moment as tears ran down her face. She needed to tell Mike why, taking a breathe she continued. "There was an accident when my twins were on there way back here to be here for the wedding. They were aboard a freighter they were making a pit stop at Vulcan when something happened..." Jewel said taking a breathe before continuing and trying to control her emotions.

"They were evacuating the freighter and just as the escape pods were being deployed the freighter exploded causing the escape pods to crash land on Vulcan.....they found Jay and Liberty...." she took another breathe. "They didn't survive...there still investigating the accident to see if it was just a malfunction in the systems or foul play." Jewel said as more tears ran down her face.

"It will be after the wedding before everything is set up and ready. So I would like to take the Sutherland and go back to Earth for a few days after the wedding Mike." Jewel asked as she looked at him tears running down her face. This is the first time she lost her control of her emotions.

Mike nodded, "The ship is yours. She's currently being fitted for Slipstream...I'll put a second team on her to have the ship ready by next week...that'll cut your trip there from just over two days to just over four hours."

"Thank you Mike," Jewel said "I appreciate it," Jewel said looking at him as she wiped her eyes.

"You're welcome" Mike replied.

Jewel nodded and walked out of Mike's office and headed to the turbo lift. She ordered it to go to her office for a moment. But then changed her mind she needed to talk to someone. To get this off her mind and try to get it were she could work. She had so much to do, the wedding, and everything else. She decided to go talk to Deela T'Lar her very close friend.
