Ryan sat in his new ready room staring out into the stars. He was trying to relax, but he wanted to get back out there. He leaned back in his chair to sit right back up as his door chimed.

"Come in."

As the doors opened it revealed a young ensign.

"Sir, I wanted to remind you of the event on the Enterprise."

Ryan had forgotten. He had been ready to head out and almost forgot about the ceremony for the decommissioning of the USS Enterprise.

"Thank you Ensign. I will be there shortly."

The Ensign nodded and returned to his station. Surprisingly Ryan did not have to change his uniform. Normally he would have been helping with something in engineering to get dirty, but he hadn't been able to. Getting used to letting someone else fix things after so many years of doing it himself was a hard habit to break. He stood up and proceeded to the Enterprise.

Ryan entered the mess hall. He looked around and recognized a couple of faces from the Enterprise. As he scanned the area he noticed Admiral Bremer. He wanted to review what his assignment for the first mission. Ryan came up to the Admiral.

"Enjoying your self Admiral?"
