Winter was cautiously optimistic.

That was putting it mildly, Tozrax, the Tholian General in command of the Tholian Forces currently shadowing the movements of Saratoga had an itchy trigger finger. Maybe Tozrax was wanting to prove his worth to the Typhon Pact.

"Commander, we have an encrypted transmission coming in from the station, the Admiral has dispatched the USS Vanguard to assist and support us. Captain Weatherlight and crew should be departing within the hour." The young man, acting Ensign K'Wor reported.

Winter acknowledged with a nod. He was preoccupied with the Tholian General with the itchy trigger finger. "Next System on our list?"

"The Pepper System sir." Brandy said without looking up from her station. "Ensign." Winter said to K'Wor, "Dispatch to Captain Weatherlight same encryption we'll be in the Pepper system."

They didn't have any idea what would be waiting for them in the Pepper system. "Lieutenant Archer, begin long range scans of the Pepper System."

The Operations officer replied with a nod. Turning to his first officer, "Thorin, after the Pepper system we got the Chase System. Last I heard there's a big orbital station in the area, Deep Space Six If I recall correctly."

"Yes sir, I did my Cadet Tour there." The Andorian said cooly.

"I want you and Mr. Lee to prepare a briefing for Captain Elizabeth Longstreet. I'm sure she'll want every piece of intelligence information before she decide to even let us pass." Winter knew that Longstreet wasn't too particularly fond of starships.

"Aye sir."

James turned to K'Wor, "How many Tholians are shadowing us?"

When K'Wor annouced the number that was enough for them to open up a conflict with a single starship. But with Vanguard on the way it would make the Tholians a little testy.
