Dispatching the Vanguard

While waiting on the new Chief Operations Officer to arrive, Mike continued to look over the reports from the Saratoga.

There were at least three Tholian ships in the area, and possibly more cloaked. He decided to dispatch the USS Vanguard to back up the Saratoga.

Mike sent a message to Captain Weatherlight. 'Captain, I want you to take Ensign Driggett, Sogh M'Kota, and Colonel Sosuke with a group of his fighters and support Commander Winter and the Saratoga. They have been confronted by a small group of Tholian ships, but not attacked. You job will be to assist the Saratoga with her mission. Commander Winter will maintain mission command on scene. Acknowledge when ready to depart.'

Mike closed the message and sent it to James. This would be his first assignment as CO of the Vanguard, and the ship's first deployment since her repairs, but he knew he could count on them.

Mike then sent a Priority One encrypted message to the Saratoga to let her know the Vanguard would be on it's way. He then picked up his new Chief Ops Officer's Starfleet Record and looked over it again.
