Mission:
Mission 82 - The Aggressor
Location: Admiral Bremer's Office
Timeline: Following 'Escalation'
ON:
Sevlek had just left and Mike was glad the meetings were over for the day...but that's when his monitor beeped.
An incoming messed let the Admiral know that Counselor Dallas had left the Station. She had received orders and had a new assignment. Mike wished he'd had some warning, but he wasn't concerned.
Counselor Delair was extremely capable and Bremer already had a good working relationship with her.
He grabbed a raktijno from the replicator and tapped his Comm-badge, "Counselor Delair, report to the Admiral's Officer please."
Anandra had been doing some light reading when the Admiral's voice came over the comm. She bookmarked her page and tapped her commbadge to respond. "Aye sir, right away." She set the book aside and hopped out of her seat, leaving her quarters and making a beeline to the nearest turbolift.
Though logic would dictate that she was not 'in trouble', Anandra found herself contemplating recent events, deliberately searching for any misgivings or mistakes that might have resulted in a call to the Admiral's office. Even as she stepped out of the turbolift into the corridor that would take her to his office she could recall nothing anomalous from her service record thus far at Starbase 400, so her next best assumption was that this had to be something routine. When she got to the door she rang the chime and then waited. Once beckoned, she stepped inside, standing straight, but not rigid. "Counselor Delair reporting, Admiral."
Mike stood from his desk and flashed a welcoming smile, "Counselor, please come in. Have a seat."
Mike waited a moment before continuing. It gave him a chance to find the correct PADD too, which he handed to Delair.
"I've just received word that Counselor Dallas received transfer orders and has departed the Station. I'm promoting you to Chief Counselor for Starbase 400. Congratulations."
She returned his smile brightly, stepping toward the Admiral and taking a seat in one of two chairs in front of his desk. She took the PADD, hardly looking at the screen before the Admiral's words registered and her gaze shifted directly back to him. She was sorry to hear that Dallas had left them, but ready and willing to accept the responsibilities and challenges of holding the Chief Counselor's position for the second time in her career. "Thank you, sir. I trust I won't disappoint you."
"You're welcome, and I know you won't." Mike replied. "I'm sure you have work to do, dismissed."
