Mission: Mission 82 - The Aggressor
Location: Skyline Lounge
Timeline: Following: "Lay of the Land"

Ensign Brody was surveying all of the shops and restaraunts along the promenade. He had been taking mental note of all of the establishments he felt could encourage illicit behavior. Nothing struck him as overtly suspect, but there were a few places where denizens of the sector seemed to converge.

He came across the Skyline Lounge. It was ornately decorated in a classy, modern style. Brody had heard excellent things about the place and figured now was as good a time as any to give it a try. He was rather famished.

As he stepped in, he could see that the place was crowded. He was greeted by an Orion animal woman. He fought urge to call her a slave girl in his head as he knew it was no longer an acceptable term. She was very attractive and caught his eye immediately. "Good evening, Ensign. Welcome to the Skyline Lounge." She looked at a PADD and around the dining area. "We're at capacity for our dining area, but I think we have a space at the bar. How large is your party?"

Brody looked to his left and right before looking back at the hostess with a smile. "It's a party of one. The bar will be fine." Sheela, the hostess, escorted Brody to the bar and he took his seat. He looked at the wall of spirits in front of him and imagined sampling them all.

A Bolian entered Brody's peripheral vision. He began to introduce himself as he strolled up on his newest customer. "Welcome to the Skyline Lounge. My name is--"

"Crumm!!" Brody immedately recognized the Bolian. They had spent quite a bit of time together when the USS Alameda was dry docked at Deep Space Six. Crumm had owned a restaraunt on their promenade and most of Brody's down time was flittered away in Crumm's company.

Crumm recognized Brody right away and shook his had with great fervor. "Mr. Brody! It's been many years. What brings you here to the Skyline Lounge?"

"I've been stationed here. I'm the Assistant Chief of Tactical and Security. What about you? You work here obviously." Brody was very pleased to have an old friend on the station with him.

Crumm stood proudly. "I own this place." He smiled as he emphasized the word 'own'. "I had some trepidations about this place when I first opened, but it's been busier than I could have hoped. My holographic waitstaff usage is causing the emitters to burn out."

"That's excellect, Crumm. I'm thrilled for you." Brody surveyed the interior. "I don't see a microphone. Are you not singing for your guests anymore?" Brody recalled his time at Deep Space Six and remembered how Crumm regaled the patrons with his baratone voice and relaxing songs.

"No, Mr. Brody. I leave that to professionals now. Besides, it gives me more time to focus on the daily operations and the satisfaction of my customers." Crumm also thought back to his time spent with Brody and how many of the evenings didn't end so well. "I hope you're not planning on starting any raucous activities in my lounge," Crumm joked. "I seem to remember you ending up in the brig more often than not. How's the temper, young man?"

Brody laughed. He liked to think he had come a long way in maturing since then. "Fear not my blue friend. Your restaraunt shall remain intact. I have no intention of causing any property damage this time. Besides, there's no one looking for a fight." The two men shared a hearty laugh.

"Mr. Brody, your Starfleet food quota is no good here. My favorite customer eats on the house. Would you still like your usual? One slice of New York-style cheese pizza and a large Slug-O-Cola?"

Brody was pleased that Crumm remembered after all these years. "Absolutely. That sounds perfect." Crumm turned to the replicator and punched the order into the console. Brody's meal appeared and was presented to him. Crumm's replicators were known for their ability to make food look and taste no different, or in some cases better than, the real thing. Brody saw a pool of grease forming on his pizza and immediately devoured it and chugged his beverage.

"Oh my. This hits the spot, Crumm. You've outdone yourself here." Brody let out a slight belch. His compliments to the chef.

"My pleasure, Mr. Brody. You are always welcome here. I'll be sure to have a table reserved for you in the event you want to entertain. Otherwise, my bar is always open to you."

The two continued their conversation into the night. Each man felt a much needed sense of security and familiarity as they were both new to Starbase 400. Brody and Crumm had always seen something in the other they wish they could exhibit in themselves. This made for a fast friendship which could now be maintained.
