Mission:
Mission 82 - The Aggressor
Location: Pike and Harrison's quarters
Timeline: After meeting with Sevlek, etc
Lee had just finished the meeting with Admiral Bremer and the others. He punched in the code to un lock the door to the quarters that he now shared with Alex and Paul, he then entered.
"Imzadi I'm home."
Alex was on the floor doing her yoga exercises. When he walked in, she was doing a forearm stand. She gracefully moved into a scorpion stand, "Hi, how did the meeting go with that Sevlek guy?" She smiled as she held the position.
He smiled and looked at her for a couple seconds then blew out a breath:"It went ok for the most part. He basically told Admiral Bremer that he doesn't have to tell him everything that Admiral Bremer is asking about and that he only answers to the President."
She was now sitting on the floor with the palms of her feet together as she stretched, "I bet Bremer didn't like that."
Lee sat down heavy on the couch."So far I don't like Admiral Sevlek. He is hiding something big from us, from what I can sense. But with him being full Vulcan I can't really sense what yet."
"Yeah but if I know Bremer, he'll find out what is really going on." She stood up, "Was Deela there at the meeting?"
Lee nodded:"Admrial Bremer was pretty steamed that Admiral Sevlek won't share much. Don't know what to think with even Fleet Admiral Neychev not knowing anything about it. Yes Deela was there."
"I'm not sure but something seems to be bothering her. I can't pinpoint it but she seems a bit off."
He raised an eye brow at her:"What do you mean by that hun?"
"I ran into her early this morning to see if Brandon could spend the night here and she seemed to be preoccupied by something. She usually is really focused but this time, I had to keep repeating myself, like her mind was somewhere else. I can't explain it."
He sat there for a couple of seconds and thought:"Now that you mention it and that think about it Deela seemed to be bothered by something."
"I knew it. She's really good at hiding things. It's her damn Vulcan training by her father."
"So is Brandon staying the night then?" Lee slowly rose from the couch and headed for the replicator.
"No, looks like Paul has a new interest. A girl named Racheal Yamaguchi. She's younger than Paul but she's mature for her age. Something to do with her race. Anyway, Racheal is spending a few nights with us while her mom is on that mission involving the Gorn." Alex stopped as something just clicked, "The Gorn, that's it. Now I get it."
Lee stopped at the replicator and turned towards Alex:"What about the Gorn?"
"The Gorn attacked and boarded her ship. During a struggle with the Gorn, he was stabbed and died. By the time Deela got there, he was barely alive. He was able to get a few words out to her before he died in her arms. I don't think that she ever mourned his death."
He nodded slowly:"That's too bad about him. Had always wondered how she lost her first husband. Some people never do grieve for their loved ones."
Even worse, being part Vulcan and being trained in the Vulcan way, she has learned to suppress anything that might cause a major emotional response. I'm going to go see her I think. She needs to know that I'm there for her."
"Would you like something from the replicator Imzadi?" Lee turned back to get himself a cup of coffee.
"Iced water is fine."
"Oh by the way in case you didn't know, Maal is now dating someone." Lee had a big grin on his face.
Really? Maal? Who is it that has stolen his heart?"
Lee came back over and handed Alex her water then sat down on the couch with his coffee:"He is currently dating Ensign Saith Bartaan."
Alex's eyes widened, "No way. Isn't she the one with the temper?"
Lee sips his coffee and nods:"Yep the same Romulan.”
Alex snickered a little, "A Romulan and a Klingon, hmm, I wonder if that'll work? Then again, he is probably the only one who could keep her in line." She shook her head, "I didn't see that one coming."
He chuckled a little:"They seem pretty happy together so far from what have heard and seen."
That's good. I'm happy for them, I really am." She drank down her water and emptied it.
"I am too. Are you happy about us?" He sat there looking at her.
"Happy about us?" She got up and joined him on the couch, "What kind of a question is that? I'm very happy. I think we are good together.
He gave her a wink:"I was just checking is all. I think we are good together too." He put a leg on her lap.
Alex placed the palm of her hand on the top of his leg, "I can't wait until we are married, making this all official. You know what they say. All good things come to those who wait." Alex smiled brightly.
Lee reached over and placed his hand on top of her's "I can't wait till we are married either. I have never been so happy before in my life."
Good. You had me worried there for a moment when you asked.me if I was happy about us."
She smiles:"Sometimes do enjoy picking on you Imzadi. Also when he is ready I would like to adopt Paul, if you're ok with it."
Yeah sure. That would be great. But I still would need to ask him. When it is time, we'll both sit down with him and talk about it. I didn't want him thinking that he doesn't have a choice.
She nods:"I know and that's why suggested when he is ready and if he wants it."
"I appreciate it." She leaned over for a kiss.
He leaned over and kissed her back:"I love you Imzadi"
"I love you too." She looked at him for a moment and smiled.
