Mission 75 - Time of Change
Location: USS Avenger-A Engineering
Timeline: Current
ON:
The excitement was mounting for Ryan. Although he had lost his first ship he commanded, he was able to start fresh. He wanted to see what the new Avenger had in store for him. The doors slid open from one of the access hatches. He stood on deck stunned. The corridors were brand new. There were a few engineers still putting the finishing touches on the EPS manifolds, but Ryan ignored that. This was now his ship. Ryan proceeded to Engineering to see what she had in her.

Ryan entered Engineering. As he expected it was bustling with engineers putting the final pieces together before her launch. He looked about to see if he could find the Chief Engineer. At first they all blended in and he couldn't tell, but out of the corner of his eye he noticed an officer that had an abnormally dirty uniform. This was common of Lieutenant Johnson. Couldn't keep out of anything related to the ship, even 5 minutes before a meeting sometimes.
"Lieutenant Johnson." Ryan spoke up.
Johnson turned around and after a moment snapped to attention.
"Sir!"
"At ease. How are you liking her so far Lieutenant?"
"It will take a bit to get used to all the space here, but overall she is a good one Captain."
"Good Lieutenant. Do you know when she will be ready for her shakedown?"
"If things continue as they are we will be finished in about 12 hours. I cant wait to see what she has out in space, sir."
Ryan smirked.
"Neither can I Lieutenant. Let me know as soon as we are ready and I will get clearance from Admiral Bremer for our shakedown. I will be on the Bridge."
"Aye sir."
Ryan nodded and made his way out of Engineering and toward the Bridge. He would need to test out his new chair, and find out what he was going to do with all the extra space in his ready room.
