Captain's Ready Room

With Nineteen hours to go before they enter the area Commander Winter in his ready room. Saratoga didn't have her normal compliment of fighters so he wasn't terribly busy discussing deployment operations with any marines. He was wondering about the mission thou. Bajoran Intelligence had uncovered a nugget one they didn't expect.

Tal'ura had met with a Tholian diplomat prior to the events that led Shinzon of Remus to go mad with power and eliminate the Senate. "Captain's Log Supplemental: Saratoga has deployed on a mission brought forth in part thanks to the Bajoran Intelligence Service. They've gotten information that tends to let us believe the Tholians have gained access to Romulan Technology and in particular Cloaking Technology. With over a century of hostilities with the Tholians my crew and I are running a risk of developing a Tachyon Detection Grid along our side of the Border,we are expected to arrive at the Coordinates of the Border, the Dorelle system in approximately nineteen hours."


Exiting the ready Room He noticed everyone was hard at work.

He approached Ensign K'Wor. "How is the Grid Coming along Ensign?"

"We have the specs ready, Engineering is replicating the parts and starting assembly now Sir. Basically, we're using the standard Starfleet design, but with programming upgrades to keep the Tholians from doing what the Pegasus did on our way to Earth."

Looking at the map they would arrive just after lunch in the system designated to receive the tactical upgrade of sensors. Winter had a hunch. "What's the nearest Tholian base?"

The young Acting-Ensign pulled up a map of the Federation/Tholian border. "Tarant III, three light years inside Tholian space adjacent to Xavier Fleet Yards. It's commanded by General Tozrax. According to Starfleet Intelligence, he's in command of call Tholian forces along the border." He continued reading, "Intel reports say he is aggressive, but xenophobic like all Tholians. Will not cross into Federation space unless highly provoked, but if a ship wonders into Tholian space he's given standing orders to attack and capture or destroy. He's known to be an excellent tactician, but with an ego...even for a Tholian. He believes in his species superiority to a fault. If another ship crosses into Tholian space he will press his attack even if he is at a disadvantage. Poor diplomatic skills, but he's been successful in battle and hasn't needed to use diplomacy."

"Let's make sure we stay well on our side of the Border. The first system on our deployment is the Dorelle system, let's raise the Governor of Dorelle V. Are you and Mister Thorin ready with your tactical drills?"

K`Wor nodded, "Yes sir."

"Outstanding." He clapped the younger man on the shoulder. "I look forward to reading the results. Make sure Governor Dew is on a secure channel Ensign. I'd hate to have to spill her morning coffee." He then walked down to the command area to take his seat.
