Piecing Things Together

Posted on Thu Dec 20th, 2012 @ 11:48am by Fleet Admiral Mike K`Wor Bremer & Commodore Leon `Lee` Pike & Commander Jonathan Coleman

628 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Mission 81 - Revenge
Location: USS Pegasus, Admiral's Ready Room
Timeline: Following 'Checking the Runabout'

ON:

Bremer had been locked away in his Ready Room for the last thirty minutes, looking over the data collected from the runabout, debris, and sensor scans.

He leaned back in his chair, and while he didn't have all the answers yet, he had a gut feeling who was behind the attacks. However he didn't want to jump to conclusions...

He tapped his comm-badge, "Harrison, Pike, Coleman, K'Temoc report to my Ready Room."

He waited til everyone arrived a few minutes later.

Coleman pressed the pad outside the Admiral's Ready Room and waited for the response. When he heard the Admiral say 'Enter,' he walked into the ready room and said, "Commander Coleamn, reporting in sir."

K'Temoc stood to the side, leaving the two chairs open for someone else to sit in. He folded his arms.

Lee walked into the ready room and stood over against the wall.

After everyone arrived, Bremer looked around the room. "What have you found?"

K'Temoc spoke up first. "Mister Roebuck and I spoke with Harry Kim, Paul MacLeod, and the Security Chief on Alpha Centauri. After looking at all the data, stardates of the attacks, and the methods used, it's my opinion they were carried out by the same person. We were able to reconstruct a flight path that would allow the attacker plenty of time to attack each of these people and still make it here in time to intercept the runabout."

"I thought Alpha Centauri Security determined Slater's death was suicide?" Mike replied, even though he didn't believe the suicide theory from the start.

"They missed something in their investigation. At 0230 locate time the night before his body was discovered, someone broke into Slater's apartment. They bypassed the door locks like a pro, and were even able to provide proper Starfleet identification to get on site. The same method was used on DS9 when Mac's Quarters were broken into." K'Temoc replied. It's also my opinion, based on the information provided, that Slater knew his attacker. There was no sign of a struggle, and he never called for Security." K'Temoc replied.

Lee raised an eye brow:"Almost kinda wonder if maybe it's Section 31 doing this sir or maybe even your mirror counter part."

"My 'mirrior' is safely locked away on the Station, and I highly doubt Mr. Lokran would of let him out for a stroll." The Mike paused, thinking about the Section 31 reference...

"Mister Coleman, anything come up on your scans?" Mike then asked.

Coleman tapped a few commands onto the PADD that he had brought with him and looked over the data he had collected really quick. He looked up at the Admiral really quick, saying, "Sir, I have found some scattering neutrinos that were left behind by the attacker's ship, but for some reason, no matter what type of scans that I try and use or search patter, I for some reason cannot find any ion trail left behind by the ship. It shouldn't have decayed this quickly, which makes it odd, sir."

Mike paused a moment, "Scattered neutrinos, but no ion trail?" He thought a moment, could the attacker's ship still be in the area?

Coleman nodded. "Yes sir. I might be able to run a few more tests, but I might need the assistance of Lt. Vid-Lotilija to help me run those tests though. She has access to some of the scientific stuff in the Science Labs that might help."

Mike nodded, "Have Ms Gillo assist too, and do it. Quickly, if he is still here, we need to know it, and where! Dismissed.

Everyone turned and left the Ready Room, Mike included. He took his seat on the Bridge and glanced at the Sensors, waiting for a report from Coleman, Gillo, and Vid-Lotilija...
