Accessing the Damage

Mission: Mission 80 - Outpost
Location: Starbase 400, USS Falcon
Timeline: Following, 'Damaged Ship Approching'

ON:

Holly stood beside K'Temoc watching the injured ship come in and then spoke to him feeling his emotions roll off of him in waves. " We'll do everything we can Captain to make sure the Falcon spreads her wings again. I've gotten parts for worse off ships than this, but we're going to need all the hands we can get to get her back up, sir."

K'Temoc turned to Holly and smiled, "Thank you." He paused for a moment, then tapped his comm-badge.

"Chief Blackthrorn, report to docking bay twenty-two with your Damage Control Team. We have a damaged ship docking."

Coleman walked behind them, looking at all the damage that the ship had and made mental notes of them all. Coleman spoke up and said, "I'll help make sure she's back up to spec before no time. I might not be Montgomery Scott, but I can come close to it."

K'Temoc smiled. Once the Falcon completed her docking, the three Officers boarded to the ship.

"Jonathan, head down to Engineering and get the Chief Engineer's report. Holly and I will check the Bridge." K'Temoc ordered.

A moment later, the door opened and K'Temoc stepped foot onto the Bridge of the USS Falcon for the first time in many many years.

"Commander Reynolds, I'm Captain K'Temoc."

"K'Temoc...? Same K'Temoc that used to Command the Falcon?" Reynolds asked.

"That's right." K'Temoc replied in a surprised voice.

"Nice to meet you Captain. I've only been in command of the Falcon for a few months, but I remembered the name from reading though her Ship's Log." Reynolds replied.

K'Temoc nodded, then looked back at Holly. "I want full diagnostics of all ships systems. Start with Life Support systems, I'll check Tactical."

He then looked back at Reynolds, "We have quarters aboard the Station for you, and Doctors King and Brislan are in Sick Bay awaiting your injured."

"Thank you Captain, we'll get our hurt transferred and everyone off the ships shortly."

K'Temoc and Reynolds shook hands, then the Commander and his remaining Bridge crew left, leaving just Gillo and K'Temoc.

K'Temoc looked around the Bridge for a few minutes, then took a seat in the command chair. He let out a deep breath, then started a diagnostic of all command systems before moving over to Tactical One to start his work there.



Coleman made his way down to Engineering. He had to avoid several repair teams on the way down there, which were working on several things themselves.

Once Coleman got down to Engineering, he made his way to the Chief Engineer and introduced himself. "Commander Coleman, Chief Engineer of Starbase 400. What can I help you with?"

The Lt. Commander looked up and said, "Lt. Commander Ezri Tadzi, Chief Engineer. We've got a mess down here and need quite a bit. Mind helping with our impulse drive?"

Coleman smiled and said, "Sure, I don't mind at all." With that, they got to work on fixing the impulse drive and making sure that it was back up to specs.



Holly looked to K'Temoc when he asked her to start running diagnoses and then went to operations once he was done speaking. A slient gesture that she heard and understood what he was saying for her to do. There were allot of people still on the bridge till she had logged in and was beginning the system diagnostic that was when the bridge seamed to empty out and she was left with the Captain on the bridge. Both individually trapped in their own little worlds working on getting the ship back up.

Knowing that there was some personal attachment that the former Captain of this ship had she was carefully going through the numbers before she spoke to him to let him know some results were coming back to her. All look favorable in her mind to repair the ship fully, " The life support system is stable and doesn't seem to be having any issues with only some minor damage to the back-ups which could have been caused by anything sir. It looks favorable though for us to be able to quickly fix it Captain."

“Thank you.” K’Temoc replied as he continued to look over the Tactical Systems.

Then, the comm channel chirped and Coleman said, "Engineering to Bridge. I've assessed some of the damage down here, sir"

“Very good” K’Temoc replied, “Make a full report ready to pass off to Chief Blackthorne’s Damage Control Team then report to the Bridge.”

"Aye sir, I'll send it off right away." Then, the comm channel chirped and went dormant.

K’Temoc leaned back in the chair for a moment while the diagnostics on the Tactical Systems finished. His thoughts drifted back the day he took command of the Falcon. Then he remembered the Falcon’s raid on the Dominion Ketracel-White facility in the Pelosa system during the Dominion War, then to the day he transferred from the Falcon to the Yorktown.

He wanted to make sure the Falcon would be ready when she left Starbase 400.

“Holly, check on the ship’s guidance and flight control systems next and get a report ready for the damage control teams.”

"Aye Captain." Holly went from the lifesupport systems to the flight control systems to see how much work the damage team would have ahead of them. She knew that this would take a while as there were a lot of system integrated into one another that would have to be scanned more than once to get a full picture of what was going on. She settled into the seat and went about guiding the computer what to scan where and how with the computer doing most of the work for her. That was about the time she remembered he would possibly want a time frame and spoke once the scan was in progress, "Captain, estimated time for the report is a few minutes."

Coleman came to the bridge and went to K'Temoc and said, "Sir, I've submitted my report to Blackthorne and his team and they said they should be able to get the Falcon quickly sir. I just had to come up here and work on testing some of the ODN line to the Bridge and I thought you'd like to check the report as well." Coleman then handed him a PADD before heading to the Engineering station to check on the ODN lines.

K'Temoc looked over the PADD, "Looks good, thank you." He hadded the PADD back to Jonathan then finished up his review of the Tactical Systems.

"Port pulse phaser and Quantum torpedo launcher will have to be replaced, that's where the asteroid hit. Thankfully they were able to shut power down to those systems before any kind of overload or feed back could cause additional damage."

K'Temoc saw that Holly was wrapping up here work too. "Send your reports to Chief Blackthorne and a copy to myself." He was satisfied the Falcon was in good hands, and after the butt-chewing he'd giving Damage Control Teams Two and Six, he was certain any 'over sight' that helped lead to the loss of the Yorktown wouldn't creep up in the work now being down by Chief Warrant Officer Blackthorne and Damage Control Team One.

"Thank you both. Now...Vice Admiral T'Lar is throwing a party tonight in one of the Holosuites. You both should have your invitations waiting for you in your quarters. See you at the party." K'Temoc relaxed and smiled as the three left the Bridge.
