Mission:
Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: USS Avenger
Timeline: After Briefing
ON:
Ryan came onto the bridge and took his place. The other senior staff followed behind and did the same. Ryan wasted no time in getting underway.
"Lieutenant Graham, are we ready to bring the warp core online?"
"She's primed up and ready to roll Cap'n" Jackson replied with a smile.
"Good. Bring us under our own power. Lieutenant Gillo, disconnect from the starbase power grid."
Ryan looked toward Lieutenant Barker.
"Helm, prepare to clear moorings."
Lily pressed a few keys and said "moorings cleared Captain" lily said.
Holly heard the order tapping few commands into her panel she was able to tell the starbase that they were ready to power up on their own. The base let their power feed die off and disengage and Holly saw the ship take over.
"Ensign K'Wor, Hail starbase control and request permission to undock."
K’Wor tapped the comm, “Avenger to Starbase 400, requesting permission to depart.”
“The comm Beeped as Admiral Bremer replied from Ops, “Permission granted Avenger, good hunting.”
Commander Coleman went and waited by the XO seat on the bridge. He turned to Lt. Gillo and Graham and said, "How's the power output and ship systems doing as we disconnect from the starbase moorings?"
Jackson punched in a few commands and scanned through the list of ship's systems, "Everything is operating within design parameters. No problems to report."
Holly looked at her board, "No abnormal spikes in energy. The ship seams to be holding it's own, sir."
Coleman smiled before saying, "Very good. Keep watching for any changes as we leave the starbase."
Ryan nodded to Coleman. He was already showing himself as a good executive officer.
"Lieutenant Barker, Take us out nice and slow. 1/4 impulse."
Lily eased the engines to 1/4 impulse power "
The ship began to creep toward the opening of the docking berth. This was not the first time that he had been through this routine. He sat and watched as they cleared the perimeter of the starbase.
"Lieutenant Graham, are the warp engines ready for a test?"
Jackson swiveled in his chair to face the captain, "Warp engines are ready, willing, and able. Just give the word Cap'n"
"Lieutenant Barker, Set a course to Boyden V, Warp 6."
Lily had already set the for boyden V " course already set Captain" she engaged the engines to warp 6
"Engage."
Lily hit the command and the ship went to warp six and on a course for Boyden V.
K’Wor smirked as the ship jumped to warp. It sweet though, he knew this could be his last mission before heading to the Academy in the fall. Still, he had a job to do now and he glanced at the tactical display. SIF and Internal Dampers. Everything was within normal operating parameters.
Commander Coleman sat down in the seat usually reserved for the exec and grabbed a PADD and started working on a few things for the mission. Before too long, he looked up at Lt. Baker and asked, "Lt. Baker, at our current speed, what's our ETA to Boyden V?"
"7 hours sir."
"Good. That will give us some time to get settled in." Ryan commented
"Lieutenant Gillo and Lieutenant Graham. Now would be a good time to increase the sensor range on the new array. I would like a report within the next 2 hours on your progress."
Jackson's ears perked up at the sound of 'new array' and turned in his chair, "We're all over it Captain." He replied half grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Ryan looked at his executive officer.
"Commander, you have the bridge. I will be in my ready room."
Commander Coleman nodded and said, "Aye sir." Then, he looked back at the PADDs he had been working on as the Captain walked across the bridge and headed into his ready room. He worked on a mission report for the science department and the crew as well.
K'Wor watched the Captain walk across the Bridge to his Ready Room while he read over Captain K'Temoc's report of the Yorktown's engagement with Clark's Pirates, which seemed to now include former Pegasus Chief of Security Jon Westmoreland and Starbase 400's Tactical Operations Officer James Winter. The young Acting-Ensign started to prepare a ship's readiness report for the Captain, he had a feeling it might come in handy.
