Episode 120 - Guardian at the Gate
Location: Bridge, U.S.S. Pegasus-C
Timeline: Current
Arev leaned back in his seat. Despite approaching his current problem logically, he could not explain to himself, or anyone else, what his current issue with the chair was. Something about it was not quite right. After a brief moment contemplating the chair, his attention was dragged back his console by a low volume chirp. The computer had finished compiling the results of a series of simulations for adjustments to power distribution algorithms during low and high alert situations.
Though he was half-Human, most people who weren't aware of that fact assumed he was fully Vulcan. Hew reviewed some of the information in front of him, and while dismissing some of it as unnecessary, a few of the adjustments were promising. He flagged those for further investigation, and saved the simulation results for a deeper review later.
Another chirp. EPS relays on Deck 8 were reporting a flow rate error. He flagged it to be checked later as he watched the computer automatically assign the issue to an engineering team for investigation, and repair if needed.
Arev scanned his readouts as various minor issues were flagged, sorted, reported, and assigned. Power fluctuation here, environmental irregularity there, a new quarters request. The list wasn't endless, but it existed.
The young officer had been on the bridge for hours monitoring his station. He leaned forward, then back again, trying to figure out his issue with the chair as the turbolift doors opened and Admiral Bremer and another stepped out of it. Arev briefly considered if he should say something about his "fidgeting" in his chair, but decided against it.
His duty shift had several more hours, and he was certain he'd be able to know the reason he needed the chair replaced, or fixed, by the end of that time.
