Mission: Episode 120 - Guardian at the Gate
Location: USS Kearsarge, Transporter Room
Timeline: Current

Location USS Kearsarge, Transporter Room

Colonel Ezekiel Bagwell boarded the USS Kearsarge. The back of his mind he knew that he had to assume command of the vessel, but in his mind this mission was more about having Marine support and a medical ship. He wondered if his service would be needed on this or if they were just a necessary step to ensure the safety of the fleet.

He wasn't alone his wife Anna and their son had boarded as well. "I need to meet up with Colonel Kyle, we'll talk about the command structure while I'm aboard." Ezekiel said is he looked over to Anna.

Anna smiled back at him. “I understand. I will drop off Gabriel to the Hola Nanny and head to sickbay to make certain everything is in order.”

Ezekiel gave her a smile, as he started to make his way up towards the bridge. The Galaxy classes I wasn't his favorite, but this wasn't his first time aboard one either. The one thing he could definitely say about this design that was it was family friendly. Ezekiel entered the turbo look by himself and then headed up towards the bridge waiting for the other Marines to arrive. He had a sneaky suspicion though that they're already up on the bridge waiting for him.

Indeed as the turbo lift doors opened onto the bridge, the hulking Caitian stood to attention as did the rest of the bridge crew.

“Colonel on Deck!” Sam announced.

Lennox, who wasn't assigned to the mission, had come aboard the Kearsarge to ensure the ship was ready to depart. He stood at attention waiting for Bagwell to give them the 'at ease' command as the senior officer.

Lennox wanted to go, but he understood he couldn't be assigned to all the good missions. Instead, he'd be the acting Marine CO aboard the Station while the task force was away. He had a few drills for the 4th Marine Regiment planned down on Kaleb IV in the area of Mount Colossus. The 9,452 meter tall mountain was surrounded by a handful of smaller peaks with valleys and a river running through. The southern continent of the eastern hemisphere was known for its heat and humidity this time of year...making for challenging conditions for the Marines to train in. Lennox had invited the other Regiment Commanders to also take part, but so far none of the other Regiments in the 1st Marine Division had agreed.

Anna dropped their son off, ensuring he was taken care of and headed to sickbay. Once she checked in, she headed to the bridge.

"Colonel Kyle, this is your ship and I want to thank you for the hospitality. You remaining command of the ship. I'll remaining command of the mission. I'm going to require the use of one of your conference rooms. For the remainder of this mission." Ezekiel called out in a respectful tone. His command was a Saratoga, and he was a guest aboard this vessel. Even though he was a senior officer, this wasn't a combat mission just yet. If it came down to that point then he would potentially take command. But there was no reason to, Colonel Kyle was a very capable Marine.

Anna walked onto the bridge, just catching what her husband said. She waliked over to her station and waited to hear what Kyle had to say.

“Thank you Colonel” Sam replied before turning to the rest of the bridge. “Company at ease!” He returned to the center chair, sitting confidently.

“Helm, plot departure course. Engineer bring engines online, all engines ahead One-Quarter.”
