Mission: Episode 120 - Guardian at the Gate
Location: Pike/Harrison quarters
Timeline: current

Deela had returned from the mirror universe with mirror Jim. They had stood at the transporter room on his ship to say their goodbyes. He leaned in for what she thought was a hug but he kissed her on the lips instead. It took her by surprise. She didn't return the sediment.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. If Jack wasn't in the picture anymore, would we have a chance to be together?"

Deela shook her head, "I can't answer that. He is in the picture so this is a mute point. I do thank you for your help with Jack's doppelganger. What's going to happen to him?"

Jim shrugged, "Not sure. If I did know, I wouldn't tell you. The less you know, the better. Just know that you'll never have to look over your shoulder anymore."

"You are right. I don't want to know. As long as he is out of our lives." She cleared her throat, " I got to go know. You take care." She stepped on the transporter pad.

""You too." He turned to the transporter chief, "See me after you're done here." With that said, she beamed onto the base.

Deela needed to get her kid that she hadn't seen for awhile. When she approached Pike's quarters, she stood there for a moment. That kiss rattled her a bit. She took a breath and exhaled before ringing the chime. Once she rang it, Alex quickly opened the door, "Deela! You're back!"

As soon as Raivyn heard it, she ran to her mother, "I missed you so much."

Deela smiled, "I missed you too. But I'm back now and I'm not going anywhere." She turned to Alex, "I guess yuou are curious as to what happened. It's over, it's finally over."

Alex hugged her, "I am so glad to hear that." She motioned her to sit down.

Deela sat down, "I Lee here?"

Alex shook her head, "No, he had to step out for a while."

"Well, it turns out that he was running what looked like a brothel but it really was a kidnapping and stealing from unexpecting men. He take them somewhere and torture them for his own pleasure. And their belongings, gone. Jim and his men were able to capture him. Jim won't tell me where they took him or what is going to happen to him. He says it's better that I don't know."

"He's right. You didn't do anything that might jeopardize your job, did you?" Alex was concerned.

"I wanted to kill him with my bare hands but I didn't. Jim took care of everything so I wouldn't have to."

"Good." Alex was relieved, "Do you want a glass of iced tea?"

"Sounds good. Please." She waited for her to return to her seat.

Lee growled as he entered their quarters, he was pissed and tired, some higher up crap in Star Fleet caused him to get demoted, not saying anything he walked in then headed straight for the bedroom.

Deela sensed his anger. She had only been back for a few hours so she had no knowledge of what happened since she was gone. Alex looked at Deela with an expression she hadn't seen before, "Deela, Can you excuse me for a moment?"

Deela nodded, "Sure. Go see what's wrong?" She was interested too. His anger was strong.

Alex walked back into the bedroom, "Lee, what's wrong? What has you so upset?" She had never seen him like this before.

Lee wasn't ready to talk about it. She didn't push him anymore about it. She walked out to talk to Deela, "Sorry about that. I can see how upset he is. I have no clue what happened."

Deela hadn't been back and wasn't up on the details of what had been happening on Starbase 400. She gave her a sympathetic look, "He's really angry right now. He feels a little betrayed too. I Haven't been updated on what's been happening here. I'll try to find out for you. When he's ready to talk to you, you'll be there for him."

"Thanks Deela. I'm glad you're back. And I'm sure your daughter is happy as well."

"I have missed her. It's kind of lonely without Brandon and Jack." Deela was really missing them.

"You can always borrow my two." Alex smiled.

"I could." She smiled back, "Well, I better get Raivyn home and spend some time with her. You never know what may come up, pulling me away from her again."

"If you need to take off again, I'm always here for you."

Deela nodded, "Thanks."

"Raivyn, mom is ready to go." Alex called out.

Raivyn walked out with her stuff, "I'm ready." She turned to Alex, "Thank you for keeping me safe. It was fun too."

Alex's kids came running out, "Raivyn, do you really have to go?"

Raivyn laughed, "I do. But I'll come visit you again. I'm sure of it." They formed a group hug.

"Bye all." Deela and Raivyn left and returned to their quarters where Deela replicated a nice meal and talked about what happened. They sat together, holding each other.

"It's just you and me now. I love you. I'm glad you're back. Is the bad guy gone now?"

"He is. We are safe now. We will never have to worry about him again."

Raivyn sighed a sigh of relief, "Does that mean Jack is coming back to us?"

Deela felt sad again, "Honey, I don't know. Everything is up in the air when it comes to him. Maybe one day." She didn't know what was going to happen with their relationship. But that wasn't something that Raivyn should be concerned right now. "Raivyn, whatever happens, just know that I will always be here for you."

"Unless you have to go on a mission. But that's okay. I know that you are a big part of Starbase 400 and you have no control when you need to leave. I get it."

"And I hate it when I have to leave too. But that is the price of running a Starbase. I'm glad you understand." Deela hugged her tightly.

"I do." Raivyn was really happy, "How about some popcorn to go with a movie?"

"We can do that. You pick the show and I'll get the popcorn." Deela got up as Raivyn picked the movie.
