Ryan sat in his quarters reviewing the construction reports on the Avenger. The ship was space-worthy and would be ready within the hour for a test run. There was one thing missing. Would the Avenger return to the boarder and patrol or was there something special the Admiral needed? Ryan was tired of being on the station for so long waiting for the Avenger to be completed that anything outside of the station would interest him. He placed the last report back on his desk and began to stand up when his door chimed.

"Come in."

The doors opened to reveal a young officer wearing a gold uniform.

"Sorry for interrupting sir."

"No, you did not interrupt me. I was about to head back to the Avenger. What do you have to report?"

"Sir, the Avenger is complete. The remaining teams are putting the finishing touches on her and will be out within the next half hour."

This was faster than the last report showed. He hoped that it didnt mean that quality was sacrificed.

"Thank you Ensign. Alert the crew to return from shore leave. We will depart in 2 hours. Dismissed."

The Ensign nodded.

"Aye sir."

The Ensign left Ryan's quarters. Now he needed to have a chat with the Admiral.
