Mission:
Episode 119 - "Shattered Mirror"
Location: T'Lar's Quarters
Timeline: MD3, 0930 hrs
Deela sat in the room that was once occupied for the mission briefing. She wasn't sure if she should feel good about things right now or worry. Things never go without a hitch. A plan was in place and that was good. At least she now had a way to get to the other universe and take care of Jack's doppelganger once and for all.
Deela finally got up and left. She checked in with OPS then back to her quarters to spend time with Raivyn before she had to leave for this mission. She picked up Raivyn from Alex's place. When they got back to her quarters, Jim was waiting for her.
"Why are you here? How did you get in?" She didn't remember giving him permission to enter her quarters without her.
Jim smiled, "I have my ways." He smiled, "I was just wondering when we are leaving."
"Raivyn, go to your room and wait for me there." She did as she was told. Deela turned back to Jim, "Change of plans. I won't need you anymore."
He cocked his head like a puppy dog, "Okay. What has changed, if I may ask?"
"We have a ship to take us. Starfleet has made that possible."
"And how are you going to get there without being noticed?" Jim was curious.
"I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you." Deela let out a small, short chuckle, "Look, I still don't trust you."
"I get it, I do. So, I won't ask you anymore about it. But I will promise you this. I will make sure Starfleet doesn't fail. I owe you a great deal and I won't let anything happen to you." He watched her for a moment, "So, I am going back to my home and if you need me, I'll be there for you."
"Thank you Jim. Hopefully, we won't need your assistance." Deela walked back towards the door, "You need to get back and I need to spend time with raivyn before I have to leave. She's all alone except for me and when I go on this mission, it'll just be her. Thank goodness that she has Alex and the twins to keep her company."
Jim also moved towards the door, "I wish you success Admiral. See you on the flip side." With that, he walked out and left.
Deela gave Raivyn the all's clear, "You're leaving again?" Raivyn asked.
"Yes, I do. I have no choice. You'll have Alex and the boys. Have fun with them and don't worry about me. Okay?"
"Okay." Raivyn smiled, "So what are we going to do for fun?"
"How would you like to go to the holodeck and enjoy the carnival?"
Raivyn clapped, "We haven't done that in a long, long time. Can we go now?"
Deela nodded, "Sure. Just let me change out of uniform then we'll go." After Deela changed, they left for the holodeck.
They had a lot of fun, something that they haven't had in a long time. They spent the whole day there. Afterwards, they left for the promenade for dinner. Deela watched her daughter as she went on and on about what they just did and how much fun it was. It was ice to see Raivyn smile again. With Jack gone to rehab, Brandon being in Starfleet Academy, and her duties here, Raivyn was left in the dust.
Once dinner was over, they went back to their quarters and played a few games of cards before she had to go back to Alex's quarters. Raivyn packed up a few things and they left. Standing at Alex's door, Deela took one more look at her daughter and hugged her with tear filled eyes, "Raivyn, always remember that I love you very, very much."
"I love you too. You be careful, okay? It's just you and me now." She kissed her mom on the cheek, gave her one more hug and then the door opened.
Alex stood there at the entrance, "You're back."
Deela smiled at Alex, "Thank you for doing this for me. I just want her to stay safe until I get back."
Alex nodded, "Raivyn, the twins are waiting for you inside. I want to talk to your mom for a minute, oaky?"
Raivyn did as she asked, "Bye mommy, I love you."
"I love you too." Deela gave her a wave.
Alex was interested in what was happening, "So, I was informed that Starfleet is sending you all to the mirror universe. Please be careful Deela. You know how treacherous they can be."
Deela sighed, "I know. I don't know how this mission is going to turn out but we will try our best to get back here safely."
"You'd better." Alex just had to ask, "And Jim? Where does he come into play?"
"No place right now. But if we do run into any trouble, he can help. At least I have him on my side." Deela still didn't trust him but he was in love with her and he wouldn't let anything happen to her. At least she had that on her side.
"Alright then. We will be here waiting for you until you get back. Safe travels Deela." Alex was a little worried for her.
"Thank you Alex. You have always been a good friend." She turned to go but then turned back around, "Oh, and I took you off the duty roster until I get back so you can concentrate on her and the twins."
"You didn't have to do that. But thank you anyway. She'll be safe. Good luck." Alex watched her go. The door closed behind her, "Okay kids. Unfortunately, it's time for bed. Raivyn, you can stay up a little longer if you'd like."
"I'm really tired. I think I will go to bed too. It's been a long day. See you in the morning Alex." Raivyn followed the twins back to their room where had Alex set up her bed next to Adora.
"Computer, hot chocolate with whipped cream." Alex sighed as she sat down in her chair with her drink. she couldn't stop worrying but hopefully, their mission would be a success.
