Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"

The turbolift doors opened on Level 98 and Mike stepped out cautiously. He looked around and saw no one, not even the Security Officer usual on duty by the turbolift Mike just stepped out of.
Level 98 had very little on it. A small office, head, locker room, and the Maximum Security Brig. The Maximum Security Brig held a few of the Federation's worst, including Mirror Universe duplicates of Fleet Admiral Bremer and Commodore Pike.
Mike took two steps out of the lift when K'Temoc came out of the small security office.
"What the hell!" K'Temoc said, startled.
"I thought you were going to Ops?" Mike asked.
"I was, but Lieutenant Ballard requested to meet me, he wanted to talk about an anomaly he found in the security database." K'Temoc replied.
Almost on que, Ballard stepped out of the office. "Apologies Admiral."
Mike gave a nod, "What did you find?"
Ballard glanced at K'Temoc, then looked back at Bremer. " Someone logged into the security database and erased transporter logs from last week, then logged in yesterday and erased transporter logs. I also found an anomalous log in from yesterday too. I haven't found out who or why yet."
Mike looked concerned. "Did you let Lieutenant Xalanth know?"
"I was going to let him know when I got back to Ops." K'Temoc replied.
A moment later, Ensign Harper stepped out of the turbolift. He stopped and looked at the three officers, then eyed Bremer for a moment.
"Admirals. Lieutenant. Commander Draven asked me to come down..." Harper started, but Mike cut him off.
"Where were you before you spoke to Commander Draven in Ops?"
"I've been in Ops all of Beta Shift sir, working Tactical with Lieutenant Roebuck." Harper replied.
Mike nodded.
"I'll go talk with Xalanth." K'Temoc said as he started to walk away.
"No, I'll do it. You let Admiral T'Lar know what happened. Harper, you and Ballard stay here and keep your eyes open." Mike ordered of everyone.
A few minutes later, Mike was in Xalanth's office. Mike explained what Ballard found in the security database. "I've also noticed a few oddities over the last day. I want to put Security and the Marines on alert. No one goes anywhere alone until we can find out what's going on.
"Already done sir. " Xalanth said gesturing to the pile of padds on his desk. " I have a string of odd occurrences. Replicators being left on, tool kits missing and a few reports of people who left the station still being here. I've already changed to security codes on the armour and began looking for suspects that arrived recently."
Mike nodded, then paused a moment. "Good. We'll remain at Security Alert Two for now. If you discover anything, come to me, personally."
" Yes sir. Hell of a time for it. " Xalanth said with a sigh. He could tell his Leilani was present again. She was probably waiting to surprise him.
Bremer and Xalanth left Xalanth's office and headed for the turbolift. As the doors opened, out stepped Metsker.
"Lieutenant." Mike said with a nod.
"Admiral. Lieutenant." Metsker replied.
"Lieutenant, have you seen Mac today?" Mike asked.
"Who sir?" Metsker asked.
Mike looked puzzled. Metsker was MacLeod's Tactical Officer aboard the Repulse and they had worked together for years now. "Commander MacLeod."
"Sorry sir, been a long day. I haven't seen him." Metsker replied as he turned to walk away. A moment later he entered one of the security offices.
Mike looked at Xalanth with concern.
Xalanth held out his arm to stop the Admiral from following. " Somethings wrong sir. He doesn't smell right."
Mike nodded. "Agreed. Stay on your toes and let me know if you see anything.
