Edg'rrr slumped back hard onto his bed letting out a much needed deep breath. Twelve hours. Twelve long hours he was down in engineering reworking command pathways due to an upgrade order from higher up the chain of command than the chief. He was done though. He could now relax for the remainder of the night. "Sir?". Said Courage drifting from the hobby room flexing his large blue eyes. Edg'rrr chuckled with his eyes closed.

"Yeah Courage?". Said Edg'rrr tapping a paw on the floor in a random rhythm.

"You don't seem upset about being reassigned back to the base.". Said Courage. "Was the Visionary not satisfactory?". Edg'rrr chuckled.

"Oh no Courage. No.". Said Edg'rrr climbing more onto the bed and opening his eyes. "Captain was practically ordered to give me back to the chief for the upgrades. I'll be back on that ship soon enough. Plus the Captain said we could use some time at home after that deployment.". He thought back to the trip. "I was kinda right about a saboteur and another hand puppeteering things. Wrong about the method though. Still the adventure we had with that trader kinda made up for it.". Courage drifted closer to Edg'rrr tilting his head around recalling something.

"Ah yes. Your new friends. Dolphanai, Malorey, and Tyronuas if I recall. They seem like wonderful people.". Said Course as two shutters over his eyes kind of indicated happiness. "It makes me proud seeing how far you've come Edg'rrr."

"Yeah. Hehe, thanks mostly to you. Yeah they're good. Still, like me, they're learning.". Said Edg'rrr looking at Courage giving a toothy grin before his comm badge went off.

"Ensign Dolphanai to Edg'rrr Anisu.". Said a feminine voice as Edg'rrr tapped his badge.

"This is Edg'rrr. Go ahead.". Said Edg'rrr as the voice crackled a little.

"Edg'rrr I'd like to see you in storage area S4. Something was found off by a recent outage repair and the chief wants you to see if you can fix it right away.". Said Dolphanai as Edg'rrr sighed but slowly dragged himself off the bed.

"I'll be there with a spanner. Sorry Courage but duty calls. I'll let you know a bit more about those messages I got when I get back. I think a few mention a Voyager J or something.". Said Edg'rrr grabbing a few tools and departing. Courage however looked at the bed before the door.

"Dolphanai is a science officer and knows him as an ensign. Why would she-" Courage bolts out of Edg'rrr's quarters after him hoping to catch up. Edg'rrr meanwhile arrives soon after at the designated storage area. The lights having been shut off entirely. The room as dark as can be except for maybe a few sparks going off in a corner nearby.

"Dolphanai? DOLPHANAI I'M HERE.". Edg'rrr calls out hoping for another reply except his own echo. "Eh maybe she's nearby or something?". He takes out his spanner and a light before Courage bolted into the room.

"EDG'RRR DROP NOW!". Said Courage as Edg'rrr did so before he fired off one of Edg'rrr's stun weapons from his arm striking Dolphanai. Edg'rrr noticed from the light of the blast she was holding a rifle to his head. She flew back to the far side of the room.

"Got this boss!". Said a familiar voice as Courage fired more shots into the dark before a blue fist drove into Courage's frame buckling it slightly. The bot drifted back but fired and landed two shots on Tyronuas making him stagger slightly before charging up two more shots at higher power and knocking the Bolian out.

"What's wrong with you t-eh?". Said Edg'rrr standing up before Malorey tried to fight him. Putting up his fists and defending himself he landed a few blows into his friend, several landing on him, before Malorey cried out being shot by Courage and falling to the floor. "Alright Courage. Any explanations?"

"Just one.". Said an almost mechanical voice as Edg'rrr turned to face it but as if in some slow motion film Courage began to spark. As Courage turned to face his attacker more blasts struck him sending fragment after fragment flying in the opposite direction. Edg'rrr tried to run towards his friend. Tears streaming down his face as in a flash Courage's body exploded as another bolt struck Edg'rrr sending agonizing pain screeching throughout his body before falling into darkness. The figure wearing an enclosed environmental suit and windowless helmet walked over to Edg'rrr. They turned their head towards the remains of Courage where a single blue eye shine back before flickering out. "Pick yourselves up we got what we came for.". They said as beans of gold and red light engulfed both them and Edg'rrr. The other three picked themselves up before security could arrive fading away in similar beams of light.
