USS Essex
Deela left the bridge to check up on Vox. She entered the sickbay and looked for Dr. Woodhouse. Walking up to her, she asked, "Doctor, how is Lieutenant Vox doing?"
"It was touch and go for a bit." Anna said honestly. "It was her stab wounds I am most concerned about. They are healing but she isn't out of the woods yet. I need to keep her resting."
Vox opened her eyes. She scanned around the room till she saw Deela.
"I will be back on duty soon Admiral." She said shaking her head from being in a weakened state. She closed her eyes and sighed. "So long as my symbiont is okay, that's all that matters to me " she added, her eyes still closed.
"You will go back on duty when I clear you," Anna said in a kind yet firm voice. "And not a moment sooner." She turned to Admiral T'Lar. "She will recover as long as she follows my orders."
Dee chuckled. "Doctors" she muttered.
Anna smiled at her. "We are a different breed. I am dedicated to making certain when a patient leaves my care it is when they are ready." She grinned. "My fiancé claims its a power trip we play."
"I'm glad to hear that you will be okay Lieutenant." She smiled, "Now, don't make me order you to do what the doctor says."
"I haven't the energy to argue with the good Doctor, Admiral." Dee replied.
Deela almost forgot, "Oh yes, Neelix is sending over some of his cooking before we leave. That should make you feel better." He felt bad that she was attacked.
"I hope it's his legendary Delta Quadrant Chili" Dee said smirking.
"I believe it is." She needed to go, "Before I leave, I just wanted you to know that the parties involved are in custody. They will be dealt with accordingly."
"Good to hear Admiral and I can't wait for the chilli," Dee replied.
Dee layed back on the biobed and did her best to rest. Still, she had a nagging feeling that she wasn't going home to SB 400 as the Chief Engineer on the Cushing and worse, wasn't going to be on duty as the Assistant Chief Engineer at the station when they got back, well not until the good doctor said she could.
Anna saw Dee was awake and pulled up a chair and sat down. "How are you feeling?" She asked with a smile. She was waiting for the question everyone asked when in sickbay.
"I've been better but I'm certainly better than I was with a dagger stuck in my side. I'm a little sore and somewhat drained. You going to let me out of here any time soon? There's an engineering room on the Cushing that needs me." Dee replied.
"It won't be today." Anna said sternly. "You leave too early and I will have you right back here again."
Dee groaned. "Whatever you say, Anna. I will be a good girl and stay here. I will leave it to you to inform Commander Grian. " She added. "Oh and I don't plan on being carried off this ship when we get back to Starbase 400, I'd like to be on my feet if you have no objections."
USS Visionary
Commander Coleman had tractored in a vessel that was trying to escape the scene of a crime, per Admiral T'Lar's request. The security team was dispatched to the Main Shuttlebay to meet the guest or guests that were onboard and led them to the brig onboard the Visionary. Before he went down there and began any sort of questioning, Coleman wanted a more senior officer present to make sure that nothing went awry and to make sure that he asked all the proper questions of the suspects.
Turning around in his command chair, Coleman asked his Communication's Officer to open a channel to the Essex. He wanted to ask Admiral T'Lar a few questions, especially to see how she'd like to proceed with the persons of interest in the Brig.
Deela returned back to the bridge when she was contacted, "Ah, Commander Coleman. Congratulations in getting Aurelias in custody."
"Thank you, ma'am. I've got security watching over him while he's in the brig, but I didn't want to start anything like an interrogation until I got in touch with you first. I didn't know if you had questions you wanted to ask or if you had someone in mind that you wanted to do the interrogation?" Coleman asked, wanting to make sure that everything was done properly, so that it didn't go any sort of Talaxian or intergalactic law.
"Actually, Starfleet is sending someone here to deal with him and his abettor, who, by the way, injured Lieutenant Vox. As we speak, someone from Starfleet is en route to us. It has been taken out of our hands, so we will not be questioning him. Besides, we know what happened. There's a married couple who were involved and they gave the details of the plan that this Aurelias concocted. Not surprised though. We think he's Etanian."
"I remember reading a bit about the Etanians, but can't remember all the details right off hand. Mind if I ask for a quick refresher right off hand?" Coleman asked, remembering some bits about the Etanians, but not everything right off hand.
Deela took a deep breath, "The Etanians are a humanoid, warp-capable race from here. Their government was known as the Etanian Order. They're aggressive and expansionist. They annexed the colony planets of other species by staging a "natural disaster", then claiming the planet once the population had been evacuated. In 2373, they sent numerous artificial asteroids to bombard a Nezu colony planet. The manufactured nature of the asteroids was discovered by the USS Voyager crew, who were assisting the Nezu with the emergency. Voyager subsequently defeated an approaching Etanian starship, using tactical data collected by the Nezu Doctor Vatm." She was always interested in Janeway's stories of her time in the Delta Quadrant.
"Oh, that's right. I knew that it was something that Voyager had their hand in, but I couldn't remember their interactions with them. But, why would they want to do anything to the Talaxians? Have they had interactions here recently this far out? There's so much that I'm curious about," Coleman asked, curious as to the interaction between the Talaxians and the Etanians.
Deela agreed, "So am I. From what I heard, that couple who changed their minds in helping him, said that he chose this planet because the Talaxians didn't look smart enough to defend themselves. And the planet looked easy to overtake. What he planned to do was cause multiple distractions and go from there. Someone on one of the ships patrolling the area was helping him. Unfortunately for him, he didn't know that Starfleet would pull those ships out, sending them away and bring us in instead. His plan was foiled." Deela paused for a moment, "Personally, I believe he is not of sound mind to think he could pull something off like this. And why someone would help him, I guess we will never know. Those who have ideas of grandeur do irrational things." She was ready to leave this place and get back to Starbase 400.
"Yeah, it's something crazy. I don't think I could ever understand their motives behind everything," Coleman replied back, wondering the same as Admiral T'Lar.
Deela's XO interrupted them, "Sorry Admiral T'Lar but the ship that is picking up the prisoners has arrived and is ready to take them in custody. And the new patrol ships have arrived as well."
Deela nodded, "Thank you." She turned back to Coleman, "Well, there you go. As soon as the transfer is complete, we can leave this place and go home."
Thirty minutes later, everything that needed to get done, did. Neelix contacted her, "Admiral T'Lar, I just wanted to thank you again for your help. I dropped off the thing I promised that Lieutenant who was injured. Hopefully, the next time, if there's a next time, it'll be under better circumstances."
Smiling, "You are welcome. Maybe, one day but right now, I have six ships that would like to go home. You take care Neelix and if you need anything else, don't hesitate to contact us."
"I will. Safe travels Admiral." Neelix's face disappeared from the screen. Deela contacted the other five ships, "Our work is done here. Let's go home everyone."
