Mission:
Episode 115 - Planting for the Future
Location: Shuttlebay 5
Timeline: MD2, 1100hrs
ON:
As Cameron docked the shuttle he pulled up a listing of the engineering officers who might have the skills he needed. Finding one and hoping the man was at least willing to listen to him he sent off a message to Warrant Officer Blackthorne figureing if anyone could at least give him an idea and a direction it would be a damage control specialist.
Warrant Officer Blackthorne
I would like to request a meeting with you when you are available in order to see if it would be possible to repair my ship the Dakota A that was damaged in the battle to retake this station. I would be willing to meet you where and when it would work best for you.
Regards
Cameron Wayne
He sent the message off and now all he could do was wait and hope well and start trying to get the supplies ready if he needed to do the job on his own.
Blackthorne was looking over the repair list for a ship that was due to dock in the next few hours when he received Cameron Wayne's message. After reading, pulled up a report of all of the Starfleet and civilian ships they had been repaired, and while the SS Dakota was listed as one that needed assistance, he couldn't find any report showing work had been completed.
Xelonul typed in a reply and requested Wayne take the Dakota to Aux. Bay Six on Level 220. After sending, he tapped his commbadge, "Blackthorne to Repair Team Three, meet me in Aux. Bay Six in fifteen minutes."
Cameron received the message and sent reply just as quickly. The Dakota would need to be towed into the docking bay it would take him about 2 hours to get her from the back of the scrap yard to the bay they had requested. With the message sent Cameron powered up the shuttle and headed out. He had hope now at least and he would do everything he could to make sure his ship was repaired.
Two Hours Later
Blackthorne watched as a tug, two workbees, and four drones maneuvered the Dakota into the bay.
"Damn." Blackthorne said aloud, looking at the condition of the little ship.
"That is what I said when I found where they had hid my girl." Said Cameron as he rolled up to Xelonul. "Cameron Wayne" said Cameron as he held out his hand
Xelonul shook Cameron's hand, but kept his eyes on the Dakota, examining the hull.
"Here is the initial external and internal surveys as well as what I was able to do on my own she is actually in better shape then she looks but I swear that is the last time I let starfleet use my ship as a boarding ship for the marines." Said Cameron with a dry chuckle
Xelonul shook his head before looking at the PADD. "I have a team ready to board her once she's secure, however don't expect any miracles. It's probably going to take a few months to have her ready for space flight again."
"I never expect miracles my customers might but I know better. Do your best and that is all anyone can ask. Oh and be careful of that starboard impulse engine she sounds rough and shakes when you fire her up. The port one is fine but I never could figure out what was wrong with the starboard." Said Cameron calmly
"Thanks, I'll make sure to have someone check that out too. Once I have a better idea of what we're dealing with, I'll let you know a more realistic timeframe." Blackthorne replied as he flashes a reassuring smile before heading toward the airlock to board the Dakota.
Cameron watched the damage control team for a few minutes before turning around and leaving the bay. He had other things to do now that he no longer was worried about his ship.
