Mission:
Episode 114 - A Time and Place for Everything
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: Timeline: MD1, 1100
ON:
K’Temoc arrived in Ops just as he heard Mike say ‘Janice’. He walked over to the Holo-display in the middle of Ops and zoomed in on the USS Durga and eyed the ship for a moment. He then walked over to one of the Intelligence stations and tapped in a few commands.
About that time Draven entered Ops and looked around, taking stock of everything. He glanced at K’Temoc then walked over beside him.
“I scanned the Durga when I saw the hail come in. It’s Janice and the Durga we knew. Port bow thruster was still in need of work, just like it was before she left the Station. I then logged into her systems, her logs say they completed their mission and were in route back here.” Draven explained in a quiet tone.
“So they haven’t received the distress call before her final battle?” K’Temoc asked.
“Not yet, but would be in the next few minutes.” Draven replied. “I also took a moment to check out the Pegasus-C out there. It’s ours, just fifteen years older.” He handed K’Temoc a padd. “I think you know the Captain.”
K’Temoc looked and his eyes widened. He took a breath, then walked toward Mike who was still fixed on the screen.
“We need to talk.” K’Temoc said to his brother.
Mike took a breath, then looked over to K’Temoc and Draven. “What did you find.”
Draven explained to Mike what he just told K’Temoc regarding Janice’s ship and when it was from.
“I recommend against contact.” K’Temoc said in a solum voice.
“Would you avoid contact if that was Danielle out there?” Mike asked.
K’Temoc paused a moment to think, “No, probably not.”
“Mike, I know that’s your wife…but we don’t know if any interactions here will screw up the timeline. We’re already going to have Temporal Investigations crawling all of the Station and questioning everyone and every decision we make.” Draven paused, “If we’re going to talk with her, it needs to be secured and encrypted.”
“Or she can just beam into my office so there’s minimal contact.” Mike replied.
Draven nodded.
“When T’Lar arrives, have her get an update from Mr. Coleman. We need to get all of these ships back to their own timeline with as little impact as possible.” Mike stated.
K’Temoc and Draven both nodded.
“Admiral, sorry to interrupt.” Archer spoke. “We received some interesting information from the NX-02 Columbia from 2151, USS Nog from 3191, and the USS Enterprise-D from 2368. All of them reported trace chroniton and neutrino particles forming near them just before a blue/white anomaly formed bringing them here. We’ve asked the other ships to verify if they picked up the same.”
“We did.” Dax announced. “But it was for the briefest of moments.”
“Positive confirmation received from the USS Enterprise from 2358, USS Yorktown from 2588, USS Grissom from 2281, USS Zhang He from 2410, USS Farragut from 2382, USS Essex from 2208, NX-01 Enterprise, USS Voyager from 2373, USS Defiant from 2372, USS Pegasus from 2414, USS Pegasus from 2295, USS Excelsior from 2401, USS Leondegrance from 2304, USS Durga from 2397, USS Enterprise from 2287, and USS Avenger from 2375. Waiting on the other vessels now.” Archer reported.
“Wait a minute.” Draven said as he rushed over to one of the Intel positions. He took a seat and started tapping away. After a few moments he looked back at the others. “In some way, shape, or form…all of the ships here are linked to one of us.”
“Explain.” Mike said.
“Okay. For you. There’s two different USS Pegasus out there, plus there’s the Durga, Avenger, and Enterprise-D. The Pegasus-C is your command right now. The Pegasus from 2295 was under the command of one of your ancestors. The Durga is your wife’s ship. The Enterprise-D was the first ship you were assigned to after the Academy and has a member of your extended family aboard, and Worf later commanded the Avenger for a mission, the Aventine fits with that logic too. The Essex out there, we have an Essex here. The Nog from the thirty-second century named for Quark’s nephew, and Quark is aboard the Station right now.” Draven started to explain. “Each ship out there is either the predecessor of a ship we have assigned here, or has an ancestor of a member of our crew aboard.” He pointed at the monitors that listed the linked crew members.
“If that’s true, then this isn’t a natural occurrence.” Dax said.
“It’s probably a good bet that when they return home they’ll either have no memory of these events, or it won’t affect the timeline.” K’Temoc said.
Behind the group stood a nondescript crew member who smiled then walked away.
“Then let’s use the resources we have to find a solution. Let them all know we don’t believe this to be a natural phenomenon, but instead the work of something or someone. There’s probably a solution, so let’s form a dream team of personnel to work the problem til we have that solution.” Mike said. “Draven, we’re going to use Tactical Operations for this, so get it secured. K’Temoc, tell all ships to beam over a member of their crew they believe can help the most.”
“You realize we’re about to have the likes of Spock..maybe two, Data, T’Pol, Jadzia and Ezri Dax, Savok when he was still a Lieutenant aboard the 1702 Pegasus, and the list goes on.” K’Temoc said with a smirk. “I’ll also get Coleman, Stark, and McWire to join them.”
Mike nodded. He also had people he needed to talk to. “Let’s get it done.”
Mike turned away and started to walk toward his office, he knew he needed to talk to Janice…but he also knew that no matter what they said or did, it wasn’t going to change her future and his past.
