Mission: Episode 113 - No One Left Behind
Location: Various
Timeline: MD3 - 0530hrs - Following 'Arriving in the Dewa System'

ON:

The Pegasus, Yorktown, Saratoga, Endeavour, Cutlass, Ark Royal, Buccaneer, Triptiz, and Tyr slowly approached Dewa II.

Mike took a breath, then stood. “Mister Conway, open a channel to the Romulan base on Dewa II.”

“Channel open.” Conway replied. “Romulan base, this is Fleet Admiral Mike K’Wor Bremer of the Federation Starship, USS Pegasus. It has been brought to our attention that there are Federation Citizens being held by you. It’s our intention to beam down Security and Medical personnel to verify this information then recover and treat them. Prepare to receive our away teams.” Mike said in a tone of authority.

A few seconds passed without a reply.

“Admiral, two Romulan ships are approaching, a d'Deridex and a Valdore. They appear to be patrolling the area but they haven’t spotted us yet.” Draven reported.

“Romulan base, respond.” Mike added.

After another few seconds a reply finally came over the comm, “Federation Admiral, this is Romulan territory and you do not have authority here.”

“Under the terms of the recent peace treaty and the updated Treaty of Algeron, we do.” Mike replied.

After a moment, a different voice was heard over the comm, “Admiral Bremer, we will await your arrival and allow limited personnel to be beamed down to verify the false claims of prisoners here. Advise us when you arrive.”

Mike looked back at Conway and nodded. A moment latter the Odyssey class USS Pegasus-C decloaked, followed by the Defiant class USS Yorktown, Akira class USS Saratoga, Athena class USS Endeavour, Saber class USS Cutlass, Vesta class USS Ark Royal, Interceptor class USS Buccaneer, Excelsior class USS Triptiz, and Ronin class USS Tyr. “We’re here, stand by to receive our away teams.”

“The Romulans ships have altered course and are approaching us slowly. Their shields are up, but weapons are on stand by.” Conway reported.

“An additional two warbirds are approaching, both new Dia Vectau class. They are taking the same posture as the others.” Draven added.

“Match their posture, keep the shields up and bring the weapons systems to hot standby.” Mike ordered. He then took his seat and tapped a button. “Pegasus to Task Force One, stand by to beam away team personnel down. Colonel Lennox will be in command of the away teams. The following personnel will be team leaders; Lieutenant K’Wor, Ensign Conway, First Ramata'tar, Lieutenant Vasha, Lieutenant Carter, Lieutenant Xalanth, and Lieutenant Aylek. Doctor Woodhouse will coordinate Medical with Doctor Boudreaux assisting. Commander Coleman will coordinate Science and Engineering teams of McWire, Vox, Cole-Bremer, and O'Riley.”

USS Ark Royal, Transporter Room One

Having received the Admirals orders, Lt Caveel, the assigned XO on board the Ark Royal, walked with Lt Xalanth to Transporter Room one on the Vesta Class starship.

"I'll have the Ark Royal on standby, sir, ready to beam you and any other officers, civilians or casualties up. Should the Romulans offer some kind of resistance, I assume we are to follow the Admirals lead?" he asked Xalanth

Xalanth was fully prepared in his armour and weapons ready to go. He nodded in acknowledgement. " That's the plan Lt. Follow the admirals orders and keep a lock on us in case things go pearhsaped."

"Understood, sir, good hunting," Caveel replied. As soon as Xalanth was ready on the transporter pad, Caveel nodded to the on-duty chief who beamed Lt Xalanth to the assigned team leader co-ordinates.

USS Endeavor-A, Transporter Room One

Commander Coleman received final confirmation of the transporter locations while en-route to the transporter room. As he got into the turbolift on the bridge, he had O'Riley and Vasha follow him, to be apart of their away team down to the planet.

Once he was in the transporter room, they stepped onto the transporter pad and told the operator, "Beam us down to the coordinates we received from the Romulans. Coordinate with the Pegasus and get us down there when ready."

Within a few moments, the transporter chief replied, "We're getting word that we're ready to beam you guys down. Prepare for transport."

The transporter chief put in a few more commands and the team was engulfed with the typical whirl of the transporter and the next moment, they were down on the planet.

Dewa II Surface, just ourside the entrance to the Romulan facility

Colonel Lennox with Gunnery Sergeant Agtx, Sergeant Calthier, and Corporals Nas and Schmidt appeared on the surface. They looked around for a moment at the harsh, barren landscape before the doors slid open to reveal a Romulan and three Remans.

“I’m Colonel Lennox, Fleet Admiral Bremer told you to expect us.”

The Romulan nodded, “Yes.”

A moment later the other away teams started to beam in. Along with Conway’s group from the Pegasus was Commander Tamarith. The Romulan officer walked forward and stood beside Lennox. “We require full access to your facility and database. Without interruptions.”

“Tamarith.” The Romulan said with a smirk. He wore a Tal Shiar Major’s rank, but dressed all in black. “In the interest of peace, we will endeavor to cooperate. However, any sensitive information will need to be redacted, of course.”

Lennox’s eyes narrowed, the Romulan was already stalling. Tamarith on the other hand smiled, which was something she rarely did. “T’Lak, you haven’t changed. You know my expectations.” She pulled out a tricorder and started to scan. “And I expect the damping fields in the lower levels to be offline in the next minute.”

T’Lak eyed Tamarith for a moment before tapping a button on his wrist device. “I will take you to our operations center so we can show you that no Federation citizens are here.”

T’Lak turned and started walking inside, followed by his Reman guards. Lennox nodded to Agtx and the big Gorn Gunny followed along with Calthier, Nas, and Schmidt.

Lennox leaned over to Tamarith and whispered with a smile, “I forgot just how ruthless you can be.”

“Intimidating, not ruthless.” Tamarith replied with a smirk as they fell in with the rest of the away team personnel and entered the base.

Once in the Operations Center, Tamarith attempted to access the database while several Romulans that were based there watched. When she couldn’t gain access she looked at T’Lak.

With a smirk, T’Lak unlocked the database, at least enough to keep the Starfleet personnel busy. A holo-map of the base appeared on the screen.

“The map is incomplete.” Carter said aloud.

“He’s right.” Cole-Bremer added, “Scans showed Federation member lifesigns in this area” she pointed to a section that showed as rock on the map “with access to it leading from here.”

Lennox looked over at T’Lak, “Major, don’t screw with us, today isn’t the day for it.”

T’Lak stood stone-faced. “Your data must be flawed."

“Coleman, can you access the full map?” Lennox asked.

"Give me a few moments. The datacore appears to be fragmented and it's taking me a few moments to make pathways around it. I'm also using the scans that we made when we got when we decloaked our ships and our own tricorder readings. Just one....more...moment..." Coleman replied as he was working with the Romulan technology, their own scans, and some of the information he knew of current Romulan tech. However, it didn't take long for everything to be worked around and the map to be corrected and fixed.

After a few minutes the map flickered and additional sections appeared, including the area Carter and Cole-Bremer referred to.

“K’Wor, you Conway, and Ramata’tar take your teams along with Doctors Woodhouse and Boudreaux. Lieutenant, go with them please.” Lennox ordered.

Danielle nodded then stepped over between K’Wor and Conway.

Anna walked over and stood beside them. She was as ready as the rest of them. "Yes Sir."

“Commander Coleman take your team along with McWire, Vox, and O'Riley to inventory the facility’s engineering and science assists. I want to know just what it is they do here. Lieutenant Xalanth, Lieutenant Aylek take your security teams along to escort.”

Deezell, trying her best not look nervous, stood ready for what ever was coming next. It had been a while since she had any contact with Romulan technology. The last time was when Vox was with Raekwon. She hoped she would be able to pull some of that knowledge and put it to use here.

McWire was standing next to Ensign Vox and was scanning the area with his eyes. It was his first time on a Romulan base and that made his heart pump a bit faster.

Deezell looked over in the general direction of McWire and caught his eye. She smiled nervously as she too had never been on a Romulan base and the only dealing she had with Romulans was in another life time when Vox was with Raekwon.

Coleman smiled as he gathered McWire, Vox, and O'Riley. "Okay, lets head down to the main Science and Engineering labs they've got down here. Our primary mission should be getting everything squared away down in their engineering department, so that we can truly assess everything else because without proper power and a proper computer core, we'd pretty much going with one hand tied behind our backs. Vox, McWire, when we get down there, I want you two to begin working on the power systems. Mr. O'Riley, I want you to start working on the power systems with me. Lets head on out," Coleman said as he began leading everyone down the hallway towards Engineering.

Deezell looked over to McWire and mouthed the words 'We've got this' and gave him a reassuring smile.

Percy nodded to Vox and smiled back. "Understood, Sir" he confirmed back to Commander.

Vox and McWire headed over to the power systems. Vox whipped out her tricorder and scanned the various assembles and consoles. "It looks pretty ordinary but it seems somewhat over powered for what they need here. " Deezell advised McWire. "What do you think?" She asked.

"I agree," looking at her tricorder readings. " Those readings are high. This looks like this power system might be powering a hidden section. We should let the Commander know of our finding." Percy said "wouldn't say Vox?"

"Absolutely. It's suspicious and needs further investigation. Once reported, do you think we can find the hidden section?" Vox asked

"It is possible to configure our tricorders to the same frequency and follow it." Percy replied.

"Sounds like a plan. Let's try that. " Deezell replied already starting to reconfigure her tricorder. "Ok I think I have it." She stated as she began to scan. "This wall here is now showing as a holographic projection. There is something behind here they clearly don't want us to see." Deezell commented. "I can't quite get the right frequency to deactivate the projection. Can you try?" She asked Percy.

Percy took out his tricorder and started to reconfigure it to the frequency. "Almost there," he said " Just a little bit more" he then moved his tricorder closer to Vox's tricorder to amplify the frequency. The holographic projection started to fluctuate. "I think we got it Deezell," Percy said. In that moment it collapsed.

In front of them was a very large door. Twice the size of those found on the holodeck.

Deezelll scanned the door which showed a very sophisticated locking mechanism.

"They certainly want to keep this a secret with a lock like that" she mumbled.

"Commander, I think Vox and I found something of interest" Percy called over to the Commander to report their findings.

Coleman walked over to Percy and looked around to see what they were so interested in. Coleman bent over to get a better look at it and replied, "What is that thing?"

„ I think it is some kind of research device, Sir. My tricorder is picking borg technology. It could be some sort of weapon development. My tricorder is struggling with some other components. Ens. Vox are you getting what I’m getting? Percy asked

Coleman got up from the position from he was in and said, "Well, I would like to see what's in there too. So, see if you can maybe get in there or get past the blockage to see what's in there. I know they're working on the Borg Reclamation Process, so it could be from there, but I don't want it to be a weapon. I want to know."

"I am. I'd like to get this door open but I fear it's alarmed to the rafters." Vox replied.

Deezell got out of her small bag a device and attached it to the large doors. She then tapped into her tricorder for a god 5 minutes. "Okay I think I have it. Stand back. It could be rigged. " She said tapping the final sequence into her tricorder. There was a loud clunk and the doors slowly opened.

Percy went ahead walking into the room that Vox had just cracked open. He was amazed by her skill. As he entered pointing his tricorder towards the room he briefly looked back to see if Vox would follow him. He saw that the whole room was full of Borg technology. In the middle of the was something that his tricorder picked up as a weapon. “Vox come here, what do you make of it? Percy asked.

Deezell entered the large room. "Woah what have got here? Definitely Borg Technology. This is a big, no wait, huge deal. Percy, I would get command in here, quickly. " She stated.

Xalanth nodded as he and his team took up defensive positions around the tech boys.

“Carter, I know you have a few skill that can help Commander Tamarith with retrieving the information she wants from the database. Lieutenant Vasha have your team stand guard here.”

“Yes sir.” Carter replied as he walk over beside Tamarith.

“Gunny, take your mean and inventory the facility’s small arms.” Lennox added.

“Yesss sssirr.” Agtx replied as the Marines stood ready.

The Romulans and Remans in the room all looked at T’Lak who, after a moment, nodded. Then a Romulans went over to each of the Starfleet groups and proceeded to lead them to where they needed to go.

“Please remain here Major.” Tamarith added without looking up from the console she was looking at.

T’Lak paused a moment, then calmly took a seat.

K'Wor, Conway, Ramata’tar, Doctor Woodhouse Doctor Boudreaux, Monroe, and Cole-Bremer's group

The team of security, medical, and science personnel were about half way to their destination when their tricorders started to malfunction.

"The signals being jammed, but I can't identify the source." K'Wor said as he tapped in commands on the tricorder.

"I think it's partly from the radiation in the surrounding rocks. The deeper we get the worse is becomes." Cole-Bremer added.

"Do you still have life signs on yours?" Conway asked Doctor Woodhouse Doctor Boudreaux.

“There’s definitely signs of life” Ariana looked towards the Doctors. “I can sense that much.”

"I have signs of life as well," Anna replied. She looked at her equipment. "We need to help them quickly."

"We will continue forward." Ramata'tar said. "I will shroud and scout ahead."

As Ramata'tar disappeared Conway looked over at K'Wor. "Why did you let your little brother come along anyway?"

"He snuck aboard, I didn't 'bring' him." K'Wor said in rebuttal.

"But you knew about it. You're risking his life." Conway replied.

"What would you have done, turned the Yorktown around and miss out on the mission?" K'Wor.

"Yeah, to keep the kid safe!" Conway replied as the two stepped nose to nose.

"Both of you, shut up. No one knew he was aboard and when he did it was too late to turn the ship around. He's with K'Temoc, he'll be safe." Danielle said.

Conway eyed his step-mother for a moment, then looked back at K'Wor.

"What?" K'Wor said, "Say it."

"You knew, and if something happens to him it's on you." Conway replied before turning back around to see Ramata'tar.

"You're too loud." The big Jem'Hadar said.

"What did you find?" Danielle asked.

"Path is clear ahead, my tricorder resumed operation a few meters ahead." Ramata'tar replied as the group started to move forward.

"All but Conway. He continued to tap in commands on his tricorder as he looked around. He scanned the area again before catching up with the rest of the group.

After a few meters more the team arrived at a secured door.

"They should be on the other side of the door." Danielle said as he looked at the Doctors.

Ariana nodded in agreement. She didn’t need a tricorder she was more, or less a walking one with her Betazoid abilities.

"Yes they are." Anna replied. "My readings are picking them up." She was anxious to get in there and help them.

"Give me a moment." K'Wor said has he started to access the door controls. A moment later the doors released and opened, but only partly and not enough to get anyone in or out.

"Assist me." Ramata'tar said as he started trying to pull the doors apart. K'Wor, Conway, and a couple other Security personnel grabbed hold and started to pull. After a moment they were able to force the doors open a little more, enough to allow people in and out.

"Doctors." Ramata'tar said as he stepped inside and activated the lights in the room.

Anna immediately entered and went over to the first person she saw. She ran her tricorder and spoke with concern. "He is badly malnutrioned as well as the exposure ot radiation has taken a toll."

"Jax, take two men and set a parameter at the corner, don't let anyone in or out without mine of the Doctors' authorization." K'Wor ordered as three Ensigns nodded and went about their task.

"We need to get them beamed up." Conway added.

"We'll need to get them to the surface to do that." K'Wor replied.

"Not unless we can find some transport enhancers or pattern buffers." Conway rebutted. "I'll take Vasquez and Shrall with me to meet Sergeant Agtx at the armory, see if we can scrounge any up."

K'Wor eyed Conway for a moment.

"It'll be easier than trying to escort them all to the surface." Conway added.

Danielle nodded to the side.

"Go." K'Wor said in reply.

A few minutes later Conway's group arrived at the armory Agtx and his team were inspecting.

"Sergeant, did you find any transport pattern enhancers or or pattern buffers in their inventory?" Conway asked.

Agtx looked back at Corporal Schmidt.

"Yes, they had two pattern enhancers. Why?" Schmidt asked. "Sir."

"Get them. We're going to try to beam the people we found out instead of trying to make them walk to the surface." Conway replied. "Lester, Lawrence, help him."

Petty Officer Lawrence looked around. "Uh, I think Lester stayed with the others sir."

"Okay, let's get them and go." Conway replied.

A few minutes the group of six arrived at the holding area with the two pattern enhancers.

"That's all they had?" K'Wor asked.

"Yesss" Agtx replied, "mossst of the equipment were sssmall arrmsss, trricorrderrssss, and envirro-sssuitsss sssirr."

K'Wor nodded.

"With just two, we're going to only be able to beam five up at a time...if we can even get a signal through." Cole-Bremer added.

K'Wor walked over to Doctor Woodhouse, "Are they ready to move?"

Anna looked over to K'Wor. "Yes, the sooner we get them to sickbay the better." She was anxious to have her people start treating them.

K'Wor nodded to the Doctor, then spoke up to everyone. "Already, let's move. Defensive formation. Sergeant Agtx take point with First Ramata'tar. Conway, you're team cover the rear. We go strait for the exit."

Anna listened as K’Wor gave his orders and followed them as they headed to the exit. The doctor in her was ready to be back in sickbay to treat the injured.

Romulan Operation's Center

"Looks like the Doctors' teams are on the move." Lennox said looking at the map.

T’Lak eyed Tamarith as Tamarith nodded, "Confirmed, and they have several people with them they recovered."

T'Lak just stood there, looking at the map. Every so often he'd glance over at another Romulan at a side station. As the team with the POWs neared the exit the Romulan at the side station gave a slight nod to T'Lak that Tamarith and Lennox didn't see.

"I had no idea they were there." T'Lak started to say. "I've only been assigned here recently and before that it was a Tal Shiar command staff."

Tamarith rolled her eyes. She knew T'Lak had once been in the Tal Shiar, but later joined the Zhat Vash, however at the moment that didn't matter. The POWs and their safety did.

Lennox tapped his comm-badge. "Coleman, Xalanth, status?"

Coleman tapped his combadge and replied, "Sir, we've found something down here. We may want the the senior most officer down here to take a look at what we have collected. Otherwise, we can get what we can and show the Admiralty when we get back onboard."

" Coleman whatever your doing make it snappy." Xalanth yelled as he took aim and fired at something with his Tr100. " Hostile romulan guards incoming at least a century worth of guards."

"Colonel, I have their entire database. Including their encrypted database, back up drive, and the one they tried to secure before we beamed down." Tamarith said.

Lennox eyed T’Lak and smirked while the Romulan shuffled his feet.

Lennox heard someone coming down the corridor. He a moment to see who and realized it was the Security and Medical teams with several POWs.

"We're getting them to the surface for beam out Colonel." K'Wor said as he passed.

"Nice work, all of you." Lennox said with a smirk as he looked back at T'Lak...but T'Lak wasn't there.

"Where did he go?" Lennox said as he looked around.

Tamarith looked around too, "I didn't see him move."

Conway stopped and started to scan with his tricorder. "Readings are inconclusive. I can't get much of anything."

Elsewhere, T'Lak was walking down a hidden corridor quickly with another Romulan and an escort of two Remans. "You have everything?"

The other Romulan nodded. "We were also able to purge the files you requested before they were able to access them."

"Good." T'Lak said as they continued to walk.

After a few moments, the POWs were finally on the surface and were being beamed up to the Pegasus's Sickbays.

Coleman took several scans of what his team were finding about Borg Technology and tapped his combadge once more, saying, "Colonel, whatever it is, I've got scanned it and we can worry about once we're onboard our ships. Lets get out of here before those guards get us."

Xalanth was holding the rear putting more and more Tr100 shots into the oncoming guards. " Make it snappy people I'm running low on ammo." He yelled in a stern yet somehow calming manner.

Lennox tapped his commbadge, "All Starfleet personnel, return to the the surface for beam up."

Several minutes later, Lennox and Tamarith were the last to beam up.
