Mission: Episode 113 - No One Left Behind
Location: Holodeck

Diana swung the bokken back and forth, then put it back in the barrel and chose a heavier one. Diana metaphorically dove off the deep end into a virtual shark tank by asking for Lt. Xalanth and Commodore Pike to meet her in the Holodeck for a workout/training session. She not only wanted to prove herself to them, but she also wanted to see them in action before anything big came up.

The door slid open as in stood the security chief. Dressed in the gym bottoms with only his fang knife clipped to his leg and bonding bracelet on his arm the lizard even then was an impressive sight. " Ensign. Heard you wanted a workout." He asked politely as he dropped his gym bag at the holodeck doors.

Diana gulped. She'd seen Xalanth from a distance, but up close was INTIMIDATING! Shaking off her nerves quickly, Diana walked over to him and extended her hand. "Welcome, Sir. Yes I did. I wanted to do a bit of sparing to get the feel of you and the Commodore's fighting styles and maybe beat you. I mean! Gulp," Diana wanted to hide under a rock.

Xalanth let out a chuckle. Soft yet still firm. " Relax Diana I can assure you I'm not that intimidating. Just breath in and out." He said noting she was looking at the faint outline of a scar running down his chest. " Courtesy of first contact between my people and starfleet." he explained.

Lee had gotten the request, he chuckled but decided to go along with it. He changed into a pair of shorts, shoes and a shirt with no sleeves. He then went to the correct holo deck, stepping inside as the doors slide open. "Hello Lieutenant, Ensign."

"Oh...I'm sorry, Lt.. I...Sir!" Diana snapped to attention as the Commodore entered. "Er...um...that is...ahem. Let's try this again. Welcome, Lt., Commodore. Thank you for accepting my invitation. Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Ensign Diana Ravenbroke, newly assigned to Security detail here. I wanted to train with both of you to learn your technics, and hopefully show you mine," Diana swirled her toe in the sand, waiting for their either acceptance, or rejection.

Lee stood there then folded his big arms across his chest "And how was you wanting to do this Ensign?"

Diana took a calming breath. "Well, I thought we could start with a couple warmup exercises, then spar three way, then I'd take you both one at a time, then you'd spar with each other. At least, that's the 'on paper' plan," Diana crossed to the barrel again, and after looking at the two men for a moment, rummaged around and chose two bokkens and tossed the longer one to the Commodore, and the heavier one to the Lt..

" I'll need to handicap myself for it to be a fair fight ensign. I am on par with a vulcan strength-wise." Xalanth said catching the wooden sword. " I'll replicate myself some training weights." He said as he began to do so.

Lee caught the sword himself "I am actually an expert on a few different forms of martial arts."

"Alright, Lt.. Oh. Well then, that will make things that much more interesting, Commodore," Diana was quite eager to begin. She had spared with a Vulcan, but that had been some time ago and Diana was curious to see if she still had it.

" Well." Xalanth said as he finished strapping on some arm and leg weights. " Let's see what you've got." He said striking a defensive pose.

"Alright then. HYA!" Diana relaxed for a moment, then attacked, forcing Xalanth's bokken down then turning to Leon and ducking as he almost took her head off. "YIKES! Ya'll are good!" Diana was impressed.

Lee brought out his left foot for a snap kick towards Diana

Xalanth had adopted his own clan's martial art style. Its name was unpronounceable in any other tongue than his own. Unlike many of the fighting styles of his people, it was more defensive in nature. Designed to cut with small yet well-aimed slices at the important arteries that would bleed the opponent to death whilst keeping the individual as strong as possible. " Not bad Diana." He said deflecting one of her blows. " Where did you learn tof igth like this?"

"Whoa! HYA! I had a lot of teachers because I have a strange knack for picking up anything I see or do practically instantaneously. I don't know why, because not only was my past erased, but somehow my BRAIN as well. HYA!" Diana swung at both men.

Blocking the blow Xalanth blinked as her words as he moved back in the sand. " Wait someone erased your brain? "

Lee used Diana's moment to try to push Diana into Xanlanth "How did someone do that?"

"UMPH! Good one, Commodore! I don't know, Lt.. So far, no one's been able to find out how or who or why. Well, they might know, but they haven't told me," Diana stepped in and swung at Pike's side while kicking at Xalanth's knee.

Xlanth blocked the swig and counted gently moving the tip of the blade along the side of her knee. " How far back do your memories go?" He inquired.

"Point one for the Lt.! A little over six years. Even now, I'll randomly have short term memory problems," Diana dropped down on her right knee and swung her left leg toward Pike.

Lee saw the move coming, side stepping then shooting out a knee towards Diana, not hard enough to do damage.

" Hum." Xalanth said as he deflected another blow. " Are they sure your memories are gone and not blocked? That happened to me once." He said shuddering slightly.

Diana had been caught off guard by Xalanth's comment and had been knocked off her feet. "UMPH! Point for the Commodore! Hm, not sure about that, Lt.. It definitely warrents investigating though," Diana rolled to her feet, glancing at a wall clock. "Let's take a break, then we can see if we wanna do pair offs or quit today,"

Xalanth nooded. A bleep from his coms caught his attention as he turned and headed to his bag. " Excuse me one moment. Just need to take my medicine."

Diana cocked her head. "Medicine? You need medicine? DIANA!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" Diana wanted to replicate a HUGE rock and hide under it.

" Relax ensign." Xalanth said as he popped two of the pills and downed them. " Courtesy of a precursor civilisation. Long story short I was killed, and resurrected only with a genetically created organ that gives me the ability to blend and move through shadows. " He explained.

Dianna's jaw dropped. "That is so AWESOME!!! I mean, the blending into and moving through shadows bit...not the other thing, that sounds kinda scary," Diana shuddered involuntarily.

" It would be a pretty useful ability to have if not for that every time I use it it feels like I'm being set on fire." Xalanth replied shuddering. " The medicine keeps it switched off. All the boys and girls in Starfleet medical can do sadly."

Diana nodded, then started thinking. "Did they try mixing norep with Asinolyathin?" Diana asked out of the blue, not even sure if those two things would go together much less help the Lt..

" They've tried everything including cutting it out of me in one go. It grew back before they had half of it off my nervous system." Xalanth said before his brain stopped at what she had said. " How do you know what those two meds are?" He inquired.

"I...they're...Um...I haven't the foggiest," Diana blinked, not sure HOW she had come up with those meds. "Er...I...maybe it's something from the past I don't remember?" Diana was shivering.

Lee stood there watching the other two, he decided to take a few steps back to watch them.

" Have they done a mind meld and other telepathic probings?" The lizard enquired as he deflected and got in another small tap on the ensign's leg.

"Drat! Point again! Hm...come to think of it, no one even SUGGESTED doing that, and I remember that there were several Vulcans around at the time! Wonder what their problem was?" Diana swung and caught the Lt.'s shoulder with the tip of her blade. "Yay! Point for me finally!"

" Wait." Xalanth said pushing at what she had just said. " They didn't have someone do a mind meld? Just who was in charge of your treatment may I ask?" he said his gut getting that feeling when he encountered a mystery.

Diana froze, thinking. "You know, now that I'm actually having a conversation with someone about it...NO ONE did anything other than...WAIT A MINUTE! They didn't check my head AT ALL! WHAT THE KRILL?!" Diana was getting angry now, starting to shake slightly as her teeth started to elongate.

Xalanth stopped as he looked over at Lee. " Commodore, have you any idea why they wouldn't have checked her head?"

Lee stood there thinking for a moment or two "It is possible that they did check her head and just didn't let her know, or there could be a deep rooted reason to why they didn't."

Diana decided to sit down as she listened to the two men talk about her. She was getting a little nervous because she couldn't DO anything! A shiver passed through her, causing her chest to constrict in the same way it had when she woke up six years ago alone on Starfleet's steps.

Xalanth scratched the back of his head as he looked over at Diana. " Would you like me to ask for the investigation file about your case? Maybe I can find out what's going on with you. "

Diana's head jerked up. "You'd do that for me!? Yes, of course I would! Thank you!" Diana jumped to her feet and saluted Xalanth.

" What kind of security chief would I be if I didn't," Xalanth said looking over at Pike. " Want to help out commander?"

Lee stood there looking at the two of them, raising an eyebrow "I am sure me being ranked Commodore would have a bit more security clearance then you Lieutenant."

Diana giggled as she glanced at a wall clock. "Yikes! I didn't realize we'd been in here for so long! I'm sorry, Sirs" Diana blanched sheepishly.

" Well then we'd best get back to work. This place isn't going to run itself is it commodore?" Xalanth replied.

Diana walked over to where she had dropped her gear and grabbed a towel, rubbing her head to get at least SOME of the sand out of her hair.

Lee looked at the two "Time for me to go." He turned around then headed out.

" I'd better get going as well. I'll talk to you later Dianna." Xalanth said heading for his bag.

"See you both later!" Diana grinned happily as she finished packing her gear and headed out of the Holodeck.
