Mission: Episode 113 - No One Left Behind
Location: Deck 40, LTC Lennox Office
Timeline: MD1 1300hrs

ON:

Geneviève was fairly confident in her newfound posting, already having made friendly with the local security, Lieutenant Xalanth, meeting and rubbing elbows with her new LTC should be a cakewalk, allegedly. She'd always been the friendly sort, never really knowing a stranger as she openly floated like a social butterfly from person to person effortlessly. It was one of the sideline perks of having worked as a doctor so long, you sort of began to read people before they even opened their mouth, intrinsically knowing what to say and how to act.

Or maybe she just assumed too much.

Running one quick svelte hand through her blonde curls that framed the side of her face, she quickly cleared her throat and flattened out the front of her uniform dress before tapping on the chime just outside of the Colonels' office. The vibration and subtle 'Brring!' of the chime sounding off, she took a step back and awaited patiently the sound of his voice to beckon her inside.

Lennox was meeting with First Lieutenant Taz when the door chime rang. Taz's tail swished as Lennox hollered out "Enter".

Geneviève stepped forward upon the command, the door of the Colonel's office swishing open with a mechanical hiss of compressed air to reveal the two men inside. Stepping through the office threshold and towards his desk in four easy strides, Geneviève gave a polite dip of her head in greeting to both men, settling her hands behind her back as she eased into parade rest.

"Good evening sirs, I am First Lieutenant Geneviève Boudreaux, your new medical officer."

Taz looked at Lennox as they both slowly stood. The big Krazzle looked over the new Medical Officer as he let out a low growl. "We asked forr a new Division Commanderr and a Rregiment of Marrines and all we get is a Doctorr?" He let out a low growl again.

"At ease Lieutenant." Lennox said to Taz. He then looked Boudreaux over, "Welcome aboard Starbase 400 Doc. I'm acting Division Commander Colonel Danny Lennox. This First Lieutenant Taz, the acting 4th Marine Regiment Commander while I sit in the 'big chair'. Please, take a seat."

While the growl that the Krazzle officer had given her was not an ideal greeting, she was undeterred, simply raising a quick, blonde brow at their musing. She had not been informed that they were so low in numbers, only that they needed a Doctor somewhat badly- but trying to explain that while the other First Lieutenant was so obviously irritated didn't seem like breath well spent. Instead, she gave another nod of acknowledgment and made to take the offered seat.

"Well met to both of you, thank you sir."

Slipping a hand down the back of her dress, she sat down in the chair to Lennox's left, a quick glance to the Krazzle officer once more whom was to Lennox's right. Tucking one leg over the other demurely, she settled her hands into her lap and leaned back so that she could face Lennox head-on.

"My apologies for the miscommunication, I ain't on par with a whole regiment, but I was told that you need a doctor somethin' fierce."

"Never mind my surly subordinate here." Lennox replied as Taz let out a low growl again. "We've been short handed for a while now."

"Overr two yearrss." Taz added.

Lennox smirked as he nodded. "Go check on the Kearsarge's maintenance, make sure the engineering team will be finished on time."

"Yess Ssirr." Taz replied as he stood. He gave a curt nod to Lennox and Bourdreaux before leaving.

"I know you never served with a Krazzle before since Taz is the only one in Starfleet, but I'm betting you've never had a convocation with one either." Lennox smirked.

Geneviève nodded in kind to the Krazzle Lieutenant as he left, turning back to face Lennox with a slight furrow of her blonde brows, but across her lips played a somewhat amused smirk. "Never in my life sir..I imagine he can be far worse than that?" She mused, her smirk gleaning ever wider to reveal white teeth beneath her lips.

"Or is growling like he might bite a compliment?"

"As long as you're not wearing an opposing uniform, you should be okay." Lennox laughed. "Have you gotten settled in yet? Anything you need?"

"Settled is a strong word, I feel like I more or less meandered my way in, dropped my bags and came to see you, sir." She smiled, taking a moment to gesture to the bright yellow duffel she'd brought in along with her. "As far as needing anything- I suppose I do have a few questions if you got the time? For one, I ain't ever served on a station before, so where am I receiving the injured? Am I just playin' nurse until we get sent out to a battle?" *She asked, a bit harshly before realizing how it might have sounded, already backpeddling a bit with a quick show of both palms upright.*

"Wasn't meant as a bad thing- I'll play nurse all day long, just wonderin' mostly if the influx of patients is gonna be more or less."

Lennox nodded, 'good questions' he thought. "Usually, Marine Medics serve rotations in Sick Bay, which is on Level 700 of Section H1 of the station. We haven't had a dedicated Marine Medical Officer in a while, so I would imagine the same would be true...and with a station this size there's always something going on in sick bay. I've also seen a few medical officers taking time to do rotations a the medial facilities down on Kaleb IV. However, I also expect you to keep your other skills sharp too, that also includes rifle and side arm training."

About that moment, the monitor on Lennox's desk beeped. "Looks like we have a mission briefing, come on." Lennox said then stood.

Genny simply nodded her head at the Lieutenant Colonel's words, taking into account all the places she might be subject to work, though arguably the medical setup on Kaleb IV sounded the most intriguing. As interested as she was in learning more about life aboard a starbase, the sweet call of dirt was like a siren song. However, she had few precious moments to respond as Lennox's monitor beeped, alerting him to the briefing, a smile instantly brightening across her face.

"Now we're talkin'. Lead the way, sir." She stood up with almost a jump in her step and waited for the taller man to head towards the door first, seeing as how she wasn't sure which way to go.
