Personal History | Geneviève is a tenderhearted, southern Belle at heart. However, as said southern belle, and as a mama, she will also tell you when you’re being quite a dumbass. She prides herself on being tough- but fair. A necessity if one is going to make it on the grueling fields of Starfleets’ battlefronts, of which she has been on two. Dealing with grown people who don’t like dealing with medicine or doctors- and nearly having to force them to if they don’t wanna die is practically a personality trait at this point. Geneviève was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is the youngest of the four Bourdeaux siblings. Unfortunately, she was also the only one to be born with the unfortunate red gene showing up bright as day the morning she was born. To counteract the bad luck this brought to her incredibly superstitious family, her mother gave her the middle name of 'Clover' so that she'd have a bit of luck to balance it- but little did the family know that this precocious little one would live up to the name. She was always a sweet, playful child and grew up to be an incredibly kind, energetic woman. If Geneviève was in the room, there were bound to be laughs from her shockingly witty and humorous nature. Her childhood and early teens were filled to the proverbial brim of every different culture and alien species one could think of. In a huge city like Baton Rouge, it was impossible not to love and absorb the melting pot of people that ultimately absorbed her young heart. Though of course, with so many people clustered together like sardines, accidents and messes were always bound to happen- which kick-started what she wanted to do in life rather quickly Ate age sixteen, the youngest one could volunteer to do so, she got her CPR and first aid license, eagerly awaiting until she was eighteen to begin school for EMT training. Once suitably trained and fully licensed, It soon was no longer a big deal to see pink, foamy blood spattered on the pavement on a saturday night or a gutted Ferrengi tossed off the docks from a deal-gone-bad. There was ample scene and opportunity for her to help where she could, and soon enough it became partially second nature to do so, though at some point just after she’d turned twenty, she began experiencing her first burn out. Being a medic wasn’t all it was cracked up to be- you could help a lot of people a lot of the time, but sometimes, despite all best efforts, there was no way to save them. At some point during her 21st birthday, she came back to the career, but this time as more of a nurse-esque position, more so working with new arrivals to New Orleans off of the docking ships, kids who’d never been vaccinated, ear infections, on-call transport in the medical bus to the inner city hospital- really boring stuff. It had been a good slide back into the medical world after taking a brief break, but this had to change. She was young and wildly experienced, there had to be more than this. But she would, ultimately, continue this route for a solid two years. Academy years: She moved to San Francisco following a nasty breakup with a long time boyfriend and joined Starfleet, along with several other girlfriends with intentions to do the same at age 22 with..admittedly low scores in several areas, but her medical skills were admirable- especially for someone with half-ass formal training in the downtown slums of Louisiana, it was enough for the counsel to give her a chance.. Once accepted into StarFleet academy, she started making multitudes of friends and throwing herself whole-heartedly into her chosen field, branching out to anyone and everyone she could. She was at least obedient and quiet enough in class, she was here to learn after all, but the courtyards were open season for anyone not careful enough to walk briskly past her or foolishly seat themselves with an open spot nearby. This was actually how she’d met her ex-husband, Kalrek. A Romulan on a Second Chance scholarship to help non-allianced aliens reach their fullest potential, and to hopefully win more alliances. Though Romulans were so few and far between to chance upon in the flesh- she just had to know more about him..which quickly devolved into her becoming pregnant her third year of academy. Kalrek had done the right thing, or at least, what he thought was the honorable thing to do, and married her. The makeup-tests she had to make up her fourth year while heavily pregnant as she was were difficult, but she was excited and happy for the extra tutelage and experience as she spiraled forth in her education, further than she’d ever seen herself going with only gall and self-esteem pushing her forwards. She gave birth to a chubby, healthy baby boy the day before graduation in 2401- she was sent a holopicture of her commission on a PADD at Starfleet Academies' medical center. |

Service Record | Service years: Her first assignment was the USS Sidewinder began shortly after with newborn baby in tow, but unfortunately unaccompanied by her newly minted husband, and reigned under the Captaincy of Captain Yacobi Dathrik. The first few years of the tour of the Sidewinder was supposed to be Diplomatic endeavor as Turkana IV had officially severed ties with the federation, wanting to be its own isolated entity. The Sidewinders’ diplomats had beamed down and tried to talk sense, to help them understand why it was imperative for a colony to have the backup of the federation, but as the months turned into years and discussions went nowhere, harsh diplomatic talks turned into a hostage affair, murders, and a ground fight, of which Geneviève was quickly deployed into to help all sides heal and recover- but as the fight waned onwards, she was ordered to only heal her own ship members. She would never forget how people died in the streets, begging her to save them, to heal their bloody wounds that dribbled out into the dirt. She’d thought she had joined Starfleet to make the universe a better place..this just wasn’t it. She transferred to the USS Titan shortly after the Federation gave up on Turkana IV, followed shortly behind was her divorce papers being served. Kalrek had been ‘kind’ enough to leave behind his divorce declaration when he had left back for the Romulan Empire after gathering all the information he’d needed. Starfleet had her investigated upon the discovery, but nothing came from the investigation except her deep regret, anger and Starfleets’ condolences. Her next assignment was both easier and harder in its own ways. The forty-year civil war had just ended on Mordan IV, and while the civil war had ended, injuries and long-term health effects still permeated the social status of all peoples from both sides. She had spent the last seven years aboard the Titan dealing with the aftermath of the dead and wounded of the war- her transfer only happening due to the assignment being officially finished this year and the ship becoming decommissioned. Upon its decommission, she was promptly transferred to the USS Eminence, having hitched a ride aboard the USS Horizon for the drop off of new crew on the edge of Federation space. |
