Mission: Episode 114 - A Time and Place for Everything
Tim stood in the observation lounge looking out the window as the USS Barre made its final approach to Starbase 400. He had been on Betazed for the last couple of months after suffering some injuries to his head and mind and he had been ordered to take medical leave on Betazed. He could wait to hold Olivia and the twins in his arms again.
Tim turned around as he heard the doors behind him swish open and smiled as a young Ensign entered the room. Smiling Tim said, “Ensign Wilder what can I do for you.” Looking a little shy and trying not to show it she said, “Sir, we are approaching Starbase 400 now, and they have given us permission to dock.”
Tim nodded as he watched the ship maneuver into position to dock with the station and he was nervous and excited all at the same time. As the ship finished docking he grabbed his bags and headed for the docking port. Tim reached out for Olivia and he could feel her warm embrace. Taking a deep breath he entered the station and saw his wife and kids.
Olivia was eagerly awaiting TJ’s return, she and the twins were there eagerly waiting to greet him. “TJ!!” Seeing him enter the station she practically ran to him, wrapping her arms around him she gave him a romantic kiss.
Tim wrapped his arms around his wife as he returned her kiss. He didn’t want to let her go he was so happy to be back home. Looking at her and smiling with tears in his eyes he said, “It sure is good to be home”. He knelt down and picked up the twins and gave them a hug and kiss as well. Looking over at Olivia he said, “how has everything been since I’ve been gone.”
“Actually...pretty quiet” Olivia smiled. “I’ve been helping out more with the Counselling side of things, instead of making and changing appointments, and updating personnel files, and everything else that goes with being a Counsellor’s aide. It’s been nice seeing patients again.”
Tim smiled as he looked around at the space station. It was good to be home. Grabbing his bags he said, “let’s head back to our quarters so we can spend some more time together.”
“Good idea” Olivia smiled and nodded. “It’s been so lonely at home without you!”
Tim walked with his wife and children to there quarters and as they entered he put his bags down and looked around. He tried to keep his emotions in check as he was sorry he had missed so much time with his family. Putting one of the twins down he sat on the couch and sighed, “I have missed so much, And I plan to make this up to all of you.”
“You don’t have to make anything up to me” Olivia smiled. “It’s part of the job, we both knew that when we married. I’m just glad to have you home again.”
Nodding he held her close vowing that he would never let this happen again.
