Mission: Episode 110 - An Endeavor in Discovery
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD2-2245hrs

ON:

K'Temoc stepped out of the turbolift on Level 7 and it was obvious he was unhappy.

"How the hell could they think now was a good time to start an engine overhaul!" K'Temoc said aloud to no one particular.

A couple of intel officers walked by and gave him a passing glance but weren't brave enough to ask what was wrong.

K'Temoc entered the small lounge beside his office and paced the flood for a moment. As he turned to leave Commander MacLeod entered. He looked at his friend and commanding officer for a moment before he asked the dreaded question.

"You okay?"

K'Temoc glared back at Mac for a moment before taking a deep break. "I'd told the yard chief to make sure the Yorktown was ready to depart, instead they put her to maintenance bay three for engine overhaul. She'll be down for at least a week."

Mac nodded. The Vanguard was also in one of the maintenance bays for needed overhaul work. "Can you use the Laffey or another ship?"

"The Laffey is undergoing repairs still. There aren't any other ships suitable for the type of mission we were assigned, or are allocated to other assignments." K'Temoc replied.

"What are you going to do?" Mac asked.

"I've sent a message to the USS Firefly and asked them to handle our patrol area. I've also asked the USS Hal Moore to head to the area as well as back up." K'Temoc replied.

Mac nodded, then walked to one of the food slots and ordered a glass of cold water.

"I guess I'll use the time to catch up on reports." K'Temoc added, sadly, as he slowly left the lounge and entered his office.

Sitting at his desk, K'Temoc found a message from his new wife. Danielle had received orders to attend a science conference at Starbase 211 and she would be gone for at least two weeks. "Better and better." He said to himself.

K'Temoc picked up a PADD and leaned back in his chair to read it over before adding additional information from the final battle of the recent war.
