Dinner and a Movie

Mission: Episode 110 - An Endeavor in Discovery
Location: Pike's quarters
Timeline: MD3 2000 hrs

Alex invited Deela to her place for dinner. It had been a while since they got together and just enjoyed some time with each other. She went through a bunch of movies, mostly thrillers and some comedy. Deela hadn't seen much, especially the 21st century movies. She found two possible movies for them to watch but she'd let Deela choose.

Alex thought that pizza and chicken wings would be nice to eat during the movie. The twins were there but they'd be going to bed before the movie. She sat them down and fed them their dinner. "Okay you two. You can play for a while but when Deela gets here, it's bedtime." They finished their dinner and went off to play.

Deela put on something comfortable with her being off duty. Brandon was at home with Raivyn but she didn't have to worry about them. She said goodbye to Jack and the kids and made her way to Alex's place. She rang the chime once she arrived.

Alex let her in, "Hey Deela. You made it!"

Deela smiled, "Was there any doubt?" Deela walked in and sat on her couch, "Brandon is on sister duty and I have the rest of the night off."

"Good." The twins ran in and hugged Deela's legs. They were excited to see her until Alex gave them a reality check, "Okay kids, it's time for bed." Of course, they protested. Deela offered to help get them ready for bed. Once they were down, Alex and Deela walked out of their bedroom, "So, I have chosen two movies but I wasn't sure which one you'd be interested in." She showed her the titles and Deela decided on the comedy.

Out came the pizza, chicken wings and wine and they sat down on the couch, started the movie and ate. They laughed although Deela didn't quite get all the jokes. After the movie, they talked.

Alex inquired, "So, when are you and Jack going on that honeymoon of yours?"

Deela sighed, "As soon as he gets back from this assignment he's on. It is taking a lot longer than he thought. You know how it is when your working with a civilization that is not as advanced as we are."

"I'm surprised that he volunteered to go right after getting married. There are others that could go help."

Deela shook her head, "Jack was intrigued by them and he was excited about going." She shifted in her seat, "I do not mind. He hasn't been this excited about anything in a long time."

Alex understood, "I get it. This job can get boring once in a while."

"Oh?" Deela joked, "I can always make this job not boring for you. There is a lot of things I can do to keep you busy."

Alex rolled her eyes, "Ha, ha, ha. Very funny. I'm good."

"I'm funny? Well, miracles do happen."

"Don't let it go to your head." Alex yawned, "Oh sorry."

Deela smiled, "I guess that is my clue to go." She stood up, "It was fun. We should do this more often."

Alex stood up as well, "We should. And next time, your place."

"Deal." They both headed for the door. When the door opened, Lee was there. Deela smiled as she walked out, "Hello and goodnight."
