Olivia was strolling along the promenade on Starbase 23, her mind was anywhere than where it should have been and She suddenly bumped into another person. They both ended up sitting on the deck before Olivia suddenly realised who she’d bumped into.

“Freya Ross isn’t it?” She looked at Freya as she offered her hand to help Freya up. “I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

Freya offered a smile. “It’s fine” she took Olivia’s hand.

“That it isn’t!” Olivia sighed. “Take a seat and let me check you over, I know you didn’t hit the deck that hard but in your condition I’d rather be safe than sorry.”

Freya nodded and they walked to a nearby seating area and sat down. “So what was on your mind that had you so distracted?”

Olivia sighed as she checked Freya over making sure she hadn’t bumped her head as well as checking her pulse. “Well there’s going to come a time when we have to retake Starbase 400, with both TJ and I working I don’t have anyone to look after the twins. I’m not sure they’d settle with anyone else.”

Freya nodded. “You’re on the Pegasus aren’t you? You’re doing my old job marine medic?”

Olivia nodded. “That’s right. I didn’t realise the position used to be yours though ... any pain in your back anywhere?”

Freya shook her head. “No I’m fine, really.” She smiled.

“Truth be told I’m just ... scared of leaving the twins again. Last time I left them aboard Heyerdahl Station I was stuck in an alternate universe for months!!”

Freya nodded. “Then you stay here with them. I’ll go in your place.”

Olivia opened her mouth to speak and closed it again. “How can you? You’re pregnant Freya!”

“Only five and a half months.” Freya countered. “If I wasn’t on early maternity leave I’d be working up to my seventh or eighth month.” She smiled. “Besides I’d only be helping out in Sickbay aboard the Pegasus. That I can manage.”

“What is your husband going to say about that?” Olivia looked concerned.

“He’ll understand, he might be mad at me to start with but I’m a Starfleet Officer, I do what I have to do. Once this little one comes along then I’ll be more conservative with my decisions.” Freya smiled.

“You promise me you’ll take care of yourself first.” Olivia gave Freya a worried look.

“Of course I will.” Freya nodded and smiled. “I don’t intend to be putting myself in harms way.”

Olivia nodded. “Okay. You’re pulse is fine, any aches or pains that worry you please get them checked.”

“I will” Freya nodded. “Thank you for the medical, it wasn’t really needed. It wasn’t like you knocked me flying or anything.”

“I know but I should have been watching where I was going.” Olivia shrugged her shoulders.

“It happens” Freya smiled. “Now stop worrying and go look after your twins. Say hello to your husband for me too.”

Olivia nodded before getting up and heading on her way feeling somewhat more relieved than she had before.

Watching Olivia go Freya smiled to herself before heading on her way. She still had to work out how to explain to Kaden that when the time came she’d be heading out with the fleet.
