Mission:
Mission 78 - Colonial Uprising
Location: Admiral Bremer's Office, SB400
Timeline: Current, Stardate 65551.4
Mike was in his office looking over department reports. Change was going on aboard SB400 again. Several crewmembers had been reassigned leaving vital positions open that needed to be filed. Colonel Sosuki had been reassigned to Starfleet Academy as an instructor for Marine fighter pilots. Ensign Driggett was now aboard the USS Texas as their Chief Conn Officer. Captain Mark was now at Starfleet Command working with Starfleet Intel, training new Intelligence Officers. Lieutenant Wright was also back at Starfleet Academy, training the next generation of Chief Petty Officers. In all, six Senior Staff Officers were no longer aboard. To make matters worse, Captain Greenwood with the USS Avenger and Vice Admiral Stryfe with the USS Alabama would be leaving SB400 soon too, with the ships returning to patrol duty.
The biggest opening though was at Excutive Officer. Following her abduction, holding for 'debriefing' by Starfleet Command, and other deamons from the past that continued to plague her thoughts, Lieuentant General Janice Fultian-Bremer decided to retire from Starfleet. Of course she still lived aboard the station, taking care of her and Mike's children, they were still married after all. With the Staff shortage though, Janice had offered to help out as needed, and hard already been asked to give two speeches and chair a lecture on Modern Marine Training. Because of that...she still put on her uniform every day...after the kids were settled.
Admiral Bremer had been hard at work trying to get new Officers in to fill the open positions, thankfully a friend of his was on the way.
The USS Essex commanded by Vice Admiral T'Lar was in the area. The Essex was in route to Starbase 400 for replinishment and overhaul of her engines. T'Lar and Bremer went way back to the early days of the Fourth Fleet. She was someone Mike could trust and rely on and he knew her crew was excellent. Once the Essex docked, he was going to ask T'Lar to take over the job as SB400's XO, with her experenced Senior Officers filling those openings in the SB400 staff. The Essex of course would remain her ship to command, assigned to SB400.
To make room for the Essex, Mike ordered that the USS Durga be docked for a complete system overhaul. By the time that was completed, the Avenger and Alabama would be off on their own again. The station would still be down one assigned vessel, and Bremer was already looking to see what ship was avaliable to add to SB400's already impressive force.
Things were working out well, almost too well, and Bremer was concerned about what complications might arrise....
