Mission: Episode 106 – Stalemate
Timeline: MD3 2130hrs

ON:

It was late as Mike sat at the conference table with T’Lar, K’Temoc, Pike, and Draven. He was reading over information on a PADD Draven had passes out to everyone present.

“Has this been confirmed?” K’Temoc asked.

“Yes. Klingon Imperial Intelligence, Cardassian Obsidian Order, Romulan Republic Intelligence, and Starfleet Intel all confirm. We even had a report from the USS Ajax scouting the area.” Draven said.

“So the Tholians and Breen have pulled the bulk of their forces from Romulan space while the rest of the remaining Typhon Pact forces have not only pulled back from the DS6 and DS9 fronts, but they also pulled their scouts ships out of the Fenris Rangers protected space, pulled back their advance toward DS12, and they have left only fifty ships in the Kaleb system.” Mike said as he read. “All of that to attack the Khitomer system in Klingon territory. That’s a major mistake.”

Deela shook her head, “They seem very sure of themselves to make such a bold move.”

Lee raised an eyebrow "They are going on a suicide mission, or this is a distraction for something bigger."

K'Temoc took a breath, “Now is the time we need an offensive of our own.”

“It is, and it’s already been approved. We’re going home.” Mike said.

“It is about time.” Deela was elated at the prospect, “So when are we doing this?”

Lee sat listening

“Tomorrow, the bulk of the Fourth Fleet will arrive here at Starbase 23. Elements of the Seventh, Fifth, and Ninth Fleets will arrive with them, as well as the Cardassian Third Order, the Eighth Klingon Battlegroup, and the last Romulan Republic Task Force. We’re retaking Starbase 400.” Mike said, confidently. “We’ll approach from three directions, SB400’s ships and the Fourth Fleet will move straight in from SB23. The Cardassians with the Seventh and Ninth Fleet ships will approach from Draken while the Klingons, Romulan Republic, and Fifth Fleet ships will move up from SB24. The Typhon Pact will see us coming and pull ships from their Khitomer assault to reinforce the Kaleb system.”

Deela pointed out, “That is all good and everything, but the Typhon Pact is not all we have to worry about. We also have Starbase 400 to contend with.”

"We should get SB 400 back as soon as we can." Lee spoke.

“They have access to SB400’s defensive systems, but that’s where the second element of the attack comes in. We were hoping to have a small cloaked ship take a small team to SB400 to knock out the station’s systems so they can’t use her against us, but we couldn’t get our hands on a suitable ship.” Mike said.

“What’s plan B?” K’Temoc asked.

“When the Pegasus met with the Dominion, they upgraded one of the Pegasus’s transporters with Dominion transporters. They have a range of three light years so we can get a team in before the fleet arrives.” Mike replied.

“Before we left the station, I left a few surprises for the Typhon Pact. We knew they would board the station. Not only did we fry the station’s computer cores and overload all power relays and conduits to weapons, shields, communications, and sensors, but it also left a program in the protected upper core memory. We know it’s still active because it’s sending signals hidden in common background noise. Recon scans and info from the USS Ajax says they did replace the destroyed shield generators with standard Romulan shields. They can’t protect against or detect Dominion transporters.” Draven explained.

“A five person team will beam in near to the upper core, disable the station’s communications and flood the station with Anesthizine gas to incapacitate their personnel on board so we can use the Station’s defensive systems as an added advantage.” Mike looked around at everyone. “We’re going to kick their ass out of the Kaleb system and deal a devastating blow to their remaining fleet.”

“I hope so.” Deela was tired of the whole situation, “I would love to bring my children home.”

Lee nodded "I as well would like to bring my family home."

K’Temoc looked around for a moment, “Who are the five?”

“Draven, Sergeants Agtx and Ermy for security, along with Tom Vercetti and Vito Ruso.” Mike replied. “I know, Tom and Vito are civilians, but they are former Starfleet Blackops and have a knack for infiltrating places they aren’t meant to be.” Mike paused as he looked around, “We’re going to need every available ship commander, tactical officer, engineer, operations officer, etc aboard our ships to make this attack succeed.”

“What he’s saying is, the five of us are expendable.” Draven added with a little smirk.

Deela turned to Draven, missing the inside joke, "What he is saying is that he has faith in the five of you. If he didn't, someone else would be in your place." She looked at him for a few seconds more before turning back towards Bremer.

Mike looked around again for a moment, “Questions?”

Lee shook his head "I currently have no questions Admiral."

Deela also had nothing, "I do not as well. But I will be re-assigning some of my crew. There are a few that just are not ready for something this big."

Mike nodded.

"Lee, we've also asked that the New Hampshire go with the fleet on this too. Have you spoken to Colonel Pike since we evacuated SB400?" Mike asked.

Lee shook his head "No Admiral, I haven't spoke with him since then, but I plan on contacting him right after this meeting."

"Good." Mike replied. "Dismissed for now, make any preparations you need. I'll send out a message to our personnel soon."

Lee nodded "Very well Admiral."

"Let's get to our ships and make plans to get underway. I'll send the battle plan to all ships commanders. We'll depart in three days." Mike added. "Dismissed."
