Chiara was finished work for the day, arriving back at her quarters she was surprised to find a PADD waiting for her on top of which was an artificial red rose. She smiled as she picked up the rose, surprised to find it even had a scent like a real rose. Picking up the PADD she read the note from Croesus instructing her to meet him back aboard the USS Roane at 1830 hours.

Heading for the shower she quickly refreshed herself, leaving her hair down she picked out a dress that she thought Croesus would like and headed for the docking port where the Roane was berthed.

" Welcome back Lieutenant. This time you are my guest." Korel greeted. " The less attractive nephew is waiting for you in the galley."

Kah’lyn nodded. “Thank you Korel, I appreciate your hospitality.” She smiled warmly and headed for the galley.

Croesus had made arrangements for nurishment to be made and was behind the grill cooking.

" What's you pleasure?" Croesus smiled holding a spatula.

“My pleasure...” Kah’lyn grinned as she walked across to the grill. “It all looks and smells delicious! I’d like some help choosing please.”

" Well Darlin, it is custom on Earth to kiss the cook. Let's start there." Croesus puckered.

“Oh is it now?” Kah’lyn grinned and moved around the same side of the grill to give Croesus a romantic kiss. “Hmmm How’s that?”

" Great but you started the count down to launch quantum torpedoes. I may not make it through lunch. I booked us a three hour cruise on the Roane. I reset the holodeck and have an exciting adventure for us. The conquest of Q'ong." Croesus replied.

“Seriously? I can’t wait!!” She grinned from ear to ear.

" After a battle Klingon testosterone is through the roof. Its either more fighting or some good f......" Croesus started to say but was interrupted.

=/\= We have left dock.=/\= Korel stated over the comm.

“You we’re saying?” Kah’lyn gazed at Croesus with a wry grin on her face.

" I will just have to show you." Croesus lured her out if the galley and up to the next deck to the holodeck.

" Computer begin program Croesus 1."

Kah’lyn stood and waited as the program was set up around them. She smiled as they were presented with battle ready clothing and weapons, she stepped forward to choose hers, deciding to supplement her choice of bat’leth with a Klingon blade as well. She wasn’t used to blades but she would get used to it. “Are we on the same side or are we to be opponents?”

" It is time to take this to level 2.0. You are my enemy and if I win you are mine." Croesus growled.

Kah’lyn smiled. “You have to win first!” She backed away putting some distance between them, she had the whole holodeck program to hide in so she intended to put it to use.

Croesus recalled his favorite poem as a boy. A poem which was perfect for a young Klingon warrior.

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Smelling Kah'lyn he crept in a fortnightish way preparing for his attack.

Kah’lyn was hiding amongst thick overgrowth, hoping her smaller frame would help her hide. She would hear a heavy trodden half Klingon coming a mile off, or so she hoped.

" Come out and surrender Kah'lyn. Accept what awaits you." Croesus yelled. Swiping through folage her scent faded.

Kah’lyn swept around from behind taking advantage of Croesus’ back being turned. She raised her bat’leth ready to defend herself before attacking.

" Strike to kill. No defense," Croesus said attacking wildly until he was on top of her. " SURRENDER!" he yelled driving the blade closer to her cheek.

Kah’lyn raised the blade she had hidden away, holding it to Croesus’ neck. “I suggest YOU surrender!!”

Croesus looked at her blade placement and his own minimizing the possibility.

" Finish me then."

Kah’lyn drew the blade close enough for it to register as a deadly strike in their competition. “I believe I strike a winning blow.” She stared up at him, looking into his eyes.

There was no returning glow from Croesus but a slight change right before her eyes did occur.

" You should have killed me woman." the thing morphed from being Croesus to a black gelatinous being.

" I am the Q'ong....a shape shifter all Klingons fear. "

Kah’lyn tried to scramble free, using her blade in Defense as she tried to reach for her bat’leth. She had let her guard down and now she was regretting it. If this were real and not the holodeck she could get herself killed.

The Q'ong closed it did not see Croesus appear behind it prepared to strike. His bat'leth also had been forged to be a bow that propelled arrows. Three arrows pierced the head , back and right led taking the Q'ong down.

" Finish it off, take its head," Croesus yelled.

Kah’lyn nodded and practically growled as she swung her bat’leth and took the head clean off the Q’ong. She watched as it dropped before pulling herself up and facing Croesus. “I thought it was you!!”

" You stabbed me.....you stabbed Me," he rubbed his hair saying.

“It wasn’t you!” She stood grinning. “Besides I thought we were against each other in here?

" My dear in battle there is only your honor." Croesus replied. " I guess we are in stalemate?"

"Oh are we now?" Kah'lyn smiled as she approached him. Her hand was resting on her blade ready to pull it and claim a win. Behind her the bushes rustled and moments later another Kah'lyn appeared from behind. "Oh no you don't! He's mine!!"

Croesus was dumb founded at the prospects before him . The holodeck program was advanced enough to fool the trained eye.

" Ok then. You two fight it out and I will have my way with the victor." Croesus chuckled.

Kah’lyn raised a eyebrow in more typical Vulcan fashion than Romulan but she wasn’t one to shy from a competition. She battled it out almost getting beaten in the process before she finally made a decisive blow that took out her holographic self. She stood breathing heavily from the exercise of battle as she looked at Croesus. “If you want me, that come and take me!”

" Computer lock the holodeck door," Croesus replied as he began undressing.
