Timeline: MD1 - 0310hrs

Kah'lyn had boarded the USS Pegasus, she so far hadn't been noticed by security who were busy with the evacuation. She had a padd verifying her identity but somewhere in all the rush it seemed to have disappeared which wasnt necessarily a good thing.
She'd encountered some prejudice in previous assignments due to her Romulan looks, so she was expecting someone to spot her sooner or later. She didn't have a clue where to go so she stayed put where she was out of harms way. Right now she wished she'd reported in instead of just joining the evacuation rush.
Bremer was walking with Tom Vercetti and Vito Ruso along the corridors of Deck 10. Mike was looking over a PADD, "It's a solid plan. Do you think you can pull it off?"
"We'll just need Lek and one or two others to make it work. We'll also need a small, fast ship to get us in close." Tom replied.
"I have a lead on a ship already." Vito added.
"I might have another way to get you there without a ship, but get it anyway." Mike replied.
The three walked into 10-Forward. The lights were dim as the stars were streaking by out the windows.
"This place doesn't get much use anymore." Mike said.
"I beamed all of the restaurant's inventory to its storage area. I beamed Mister Weddy's there too." Vito smirked, "I felt back for the poor Bolian."
"Well, looks like someone is getting a little use out of 10-Forward." Tom said, pointing to a figure sitting alone in a dark corner. She was in civilian clothes and seemed to not want to be noticed.
Mike looked over and studied the person. "Who's there?" He called out.
Mike then spoke softer to Tom and Vito, "You're the only two civilians we brought aboard the Pegasus."
Vito slowly walked over to the other side of the bar to stand in front of the doors there. Tom stayed back by the doors the men just came though as Mike stepped forward.
"Are you alright?" Mike asked.
Kah'lyn moved forward in the shadows, she had to be seen eventually. "I'm Lieutenant Kah'lyn Chiara" she stepped into the light infront of Mike. "I came aboard during the evacuation." She waited for the inevitable disbelief at her statement.
"I'm sure you have proof of this?" Mike asked coldly.
"I had my transfer orders Sir" She held her hands out to show she wasn't armed. "I lost my PADD during the rush to get aboard the ship. I'm the new Operations officer and Computer Specialist. I was originally supposed to transfer to the Saratoga but with her destruction, I requested transfer to Starbase 400 personnel."
Mike studied the woman for a moment, then he noticed something, points on her ears. "Kah'lyn is a Romulans name." His eyes narrowed. "How did you get aboard THIS ship?"
"I ... Arrived at the station just before the evacuation, everyone was leaving so I just joined the nearest ship." She had been expecting this reaction. "I'm not just Romulan, I'm half Human too."
"You're also being taken into custody, at least until your identity can be verified. If you're lying to me." Mike glared at the woman.
"Vito, scan the room, make sure she hasn't placed an devices. Tom, get her out of my sight." Bremer ordered.
Tom and Vito glanced at each other for a moment. Both knew the repercussions if this woman was a Romulan spy or saboteur. They also thought Mike might be jumping to conclusions. Still, she was hiding after sneaking aboard the Flagship instead of reporting to the Bridge.
Vito pulled a tricorder from his bag and started to scan as Tom walked up beside the woman, "Come on."
"Room is clear. No explosives or surveillance devises." Vito added.
Kah'lyn put up no fight as she looked towards Mike. "I'm not lying Admiral and right now you need every pair of hands you can get. I know my job and you can have security attached to my hip if needs be!" She looked at Mike defiantly. "Please Admiral."
Vito looked at the Admiral for a moment.
"I'm going to need a dedicated computer access in my quarters." Tom said, "Vito will supervise. Most of the other Operations and Engineering personnel are working on repairs."
'A damn Romulan, wearing the uniform.' Mike thought to himself. He'd ever been prejudices toward anyone wearing a Starfleet uniform before. She, he had a dislike of Romulans growing up, but even that subsided for years. Then Janice was killed. He just couldn't forgive, forget, or give an millimeter right now.
"Verify who she is, if she is who she says then she can help with the access. Then, to the brig for dereliction of duty." Mike said coldly. "I have zero tolerance for anyone going AWOL while good men and women are out there dying!"
"Excuse me Admiral I did not go AWOL! I only just arrived here before the evacuation. I expected the prejudice hence why I stayed out of the way!" She paused. "I maybe half Romulan but it doesn't mean I have to like it. I dislike them as much as you obviously do!"
Mike crossed his arms.
"The Romulans killed my mother and my foster parents!! So you see I have more reason to hate them than most!" Kah'lyn stood looking at Mike. "At least let me prove myself."
"Vito" Mike paused, "Take her to get the job done, then bring her to me on the Bridge."
Mike turned and left 10-Forward. He needed to beam over to the USS Mercy to visit the wounded warriors that had fought so hard in the previous days.
"Come on kid, I'll get you something to eat while you work." Vito said.
"He's hurting," Tom added, "The Romulans killed his wife, nearly killed his eldest kids, and now have taken over Starbase 400. He needs time, like we all do."
Kah'lyn nodded, her own anger towards the Admiral changing to sorrow. "I'm sorry to hear that, I understand how he feels. At least he doesn't have to look at the very thing he hates in the mirror every day." She sighed and looked at them both. "Thank you for being so kind, not everyone would be so understanding." She offered Vito a smile. "Get me a cola and a burger with fries and I'll get that job done for you in no time!"
Vito smirked. It wasn't the usual food he helped to serve at Tom's restaurant, but he was sure a replicator could help.
"I did my Academy rotation on a Galaxy Class I know this baby like the back of my hand!" Kah'lyn grinned. "If I'd have wanted to disappear I'd have hidden somewhere other than ten forward. It's is the hub of gatherings normally."
Tom nodded, "This place hasn't been used mush in years with the Pegasus assigned to Starbase 400." He looked around his old stomping grounds. "Well, another war, another reason for me to set up shop in here for a while I guess."
He walked behind the bar and tapped in a few commands. "Vito, you two get to work, I'll get our other gear stowed. Then I'm going to bring a little life back in here."
Kah'lyn looked at Vito as she tucked politely into her food, finishing off what was in her mouth before speaking. "Okay, show me what you need done."
"This way." Vito replied.
