Mission: Episode 102 - The Rising Tide of War
Location: Promenade
Timeline: MD1 1820hrs

Wandering through the promenade, eyes wide, Aria Davis paused one mid stride and turned in a slow circle as she took in her new surroundings. After multiple transfers aboard various transports, the young woman grinned as she took in all the lights. All the sounds. All the space...

Bars, restaurants, stores selling everything from clothes to art to pets... She was going to need bigger quarters.

Although first she’d have to find them.

Snapping out of her plans to buy an insane amount of shoes, Aria turned, hitting straight into someone walking in the opposite direction. She winced as the poor man was sent crashing against what had once been a wall but was presently just a collection of support beams to make scaffolding for the repair teams to work. As he fell into them, first one beam was jarred free, then another.

With a startled yelp as the whole structure began tumbling down, Aria grabbed his arm and pulled with all her might before he was buried under it all. With a huge bang and kicking up a dust cloud, everyone was staring at the commotion. Aria flushed bright red as her unfortunate victim just glared at her, dusted off his tunic and hurried off.

Huh. She had never seen a Vulcan look so angry.

“Oh boy...” Aria breathed as she turned her attention to the mess, feeling like the collar on her uniform was a little too tight all of a sudden.

“What happened?” A lieutenant in engineer colours demanded, surveying the damage as he looked around him. Everyone else had moved on, leaving Aria standing there, her belongings in a bag slung over her shoulder with a guilty look on her face.

Swallowing hard, Aria pointed one the direction the unknown man had gone. “I... eh... this man. Well, he fell. Into that -“ she pointed behind him to the carnage, “I’m not sure but I don’t think that was up to safety standards. He didn’t hit it that hard and it just ... well, did that. Are you in charge of this?”

The Lieutenant stared at her.

“Sorry about the mess,” she apologised as she took a step back, offering a small smile and a little wave before disappearing into the crowd. Oh God, she was gonna be kicked off the station before she could treat her first patient.

Head down, she walked quickly, apologising often as she bumped into people or straight up almost tripped over her own two feet. And then she stopped short, a slow smile forming on her lips as she saw what was surely a sign from the gods that this day was not so bad after all.

Ice cream!
