Mission: Episode 102 - The Rising Tide of War
Location: Starbase 400, Promenade
Timeline: MD2 1745hrs

ON:

Splendora had woken early. She'd spent a wonderful night with Tom that started with him accepting her marriage proposal and ended with ... well a nice night. She'd grinned the entire morning like a fool. After showering, grabbing breakfast, and leaving a note for Tom along with breakfast in the replicator she'd opened her messages and was happy to see that all the paperwork had come through.

She'd started it all when she was away. It had been an idea and after discussion with Braxton, Michael, Hades, and a few others the decision was made. She hadn't told Tom yet. That would come later and she wondered at his reaction but the stars seemed to be aligning.

She went to the center, opened it, and was happy to see that the repairs were nearly done. She'd hired her own repair crew not wanting to tax the station resources. After a brief chat with the yeoman of the Admiral she'd made an appointment to see T'Lar.

In no time flat she found herself outside of T'Lar's Office. She rang the chime and waited.

Deela was looking at a few reports when she heard the chime, "Enter at your own risk." She looked up from the PADD on her desk.

Splendora entered an smiled. "Now that sounded ominous!" She approached the desk. "Hello Admiral."

"Sorry, I though that you were someone else." Deela pushed the PADD to the side, folded her hands and rested them on her desk, "So what can I do for you?"

Dora smiled. "No problem." She walked up to the desk and sat down opposite T'Lar. "I'm not one for drawn out requests so here it is. I currently rent a space on the promenade. I am in the process of getting a new business started and I would like to rent another space. I do however require it to have a rather extreme make over due to the nature of the business." She pushed one of the several PADDs towards T'Lar. "These are the requirements I need. I will have a ship soon. I have done my research. I know that there are two cargo bay areas that are not in use on these levels." She pointed to the levels on the PADD. "In fact only access to them is via J-tube and that is why they are in disrepair and not in use. "I would like to pay for them to be fixed up and secured. The bays would be...off limits to anyone but my staff and security as well as the Marines and of course the station brass."

She pulled out a cube and hit a button that gave a 3D version of the bays. "Since they are next to one another I want to use the bigger one to store my ship. The smaller of the two I want to close off access to the station. The only in and out would be a force field tube that links the two. You'd literally be walking through space. If things go wrong I want the station protected and a way to vent the bay into space should it be necessary." She looked at T'Lar. "I bet your wondering what business I'm proposing."

She looked over the request, "The question did cross my mind. Okay, go ahead and tell me." Her request did sound reasonable. She would make her decision once she knew what she was planning.

"Bounty Hunting." Dora sighed. "The bays would be isolated from the station and in case of prisoner escape they could be locked down quickly. My staff would have their quarters on that deck since it's a closed deck and of course I would pay for those as well." She handed a few more PADDs to Deela. "These are pre signed agreements should you allow my request. I have secured contracts with Qo'nos, Romulans, Cardassian Union, Breen, and Bolians. Several more are in the works. It might actually make the station somewhat safer. Some of the contracts would be with the Typhon pact groups. They are less likely to go after a station that houses a service they use and contract with."

Deela like the idea but this wasn't a decision that she should make on her own, "This is something that I really should discuss with Admiral Bremer. I like the idea but I cannot make that decision right now. I would be willing recommend to Admiral Bremer that we allow it. I wish that I could give you the go ahead. There is a great deal to think about."

Splendora smiled. "No no. This is fine. I have to finish the licensing, obtain a ship, finish my contract probes and we'll see from there." She smiled at the woman. "Thank you for listening to me. I appreciate both you and Admiral Bremer considering this."

Deela smiled back, "You are welcome. As soon as we make a decision, we will let you know. Good luck on your endeavor."

Splendora smiled. They said their goodbye and she headed out. First stop was a certain Ferengi.

After her meeting with T'Lar Splendora decided to take care of another to do item. She knew where to go. Walking briskly she found herself outside of Mar'g's shop. While he was your typical Ferengi he did have a good heart. She'd always liked him.

She walked in seeing her mark right away. "Mar'g! How are you?"

Mar'g looked back to see who had walked in. Mar'g wasn't sure what to make of Splendora Sage after her transformation. "Uh, hi. I'm, um, good. Working on an inventory count to see what's missing after the Typhon Pact attack. Can I help you?"

She opened her bag and pulled out a bar of latinum. "How would you like to make a lot more of those?"

Mar'g looked up confused, "Yes please...what do I have to do?"

Splendora smiled, "I need a ship, not just any ship. I need one from the decommissioned Starfleet yard and I need it legally. It doesn't have to run of course I'll take care of that but I need it to have most of the features I will ask you for."

"Uhh" Mar'g stated, "Why not just ask Admiral Bremer?"

Mar'g turned to walk away, then looked back, "Actually, the reserve ships were all towed out of the station's bay while repairs are ongoing and are in orbit of Kaleb IV's second moon. What kind of ship do you need?"

"I need a ship that is a virtual fortress. One that is equipped as a prison transport. There are only a few in the fleet stockyards that were taken during the Dominion War but of course if you were able to get a Vorta prisoner transport that would not be in a fleet yard with papers I would be grateful." She smiled, "I could go to Bremer but I happen to like you Mar'g and I think you and I could have a long business relationship."

Mar'g blushed. "Well, there is one ship that might work. It's a Defiant class vessel, the USS Alcatraz. Her interior was modified with maximum security holding cells for high level prisoner transport. It know it was used during the Dominion war, and rumor has it that it even transported Bremer's Mirror Universe double a couple of times. It was decommissioned a couple of years ago but was recommissioned just before the war started, and I believe it's sitting in orbit Kaleb IV's second moon right now."

"Can you obtain it?" She asked sitting down without asking. She needed that ship. She'd heard of the ship. It needed the modifications she'd discussed with her newly acquired engineer.

"Umm, me?" Mar'g asked, confused. "I'm not a pirate, buuut, I think I might know a guy."

Mar'g scratched his neck for a moment while thinking. "The seventh Rules of Acquisition says, 'Keep your ears open', well I heard this person saying something about acquiring a ship without paying for it before. His name is Hexx and he's inside Zark's bar right now."

"I trust you to do this. The less you can pay the more latinum you can keep." She took out a PADD and handed it to him with a ridicules figure but one that would guarantee Mar'g's loyalty.

Mar'g's eyes widened. "That's...not a mistype?"

"No. A token of my trust in you. I find the Ferengi are misunderstood. The stars are lined with Latinum as they say and my business will be profitable. Why not share the profit."

Mar'g smiled a toothy grin. He then slowly walked over to Zark's bar. A few people were yelling 'dabo' over to the side. Mar'g stopped at the bar beside Hexx.

"What ever you're selling or want Ferengi, I'm not interested." Hexx said without looking up from his glass.

"It's...not what I want, it's what she wants?" Mar'g replied, pointing to Splendora.

Hexx looked back at the woman, then smirked. "Tell me."

Mar'g handed him the small PADD. Hexx read it for a moment, then looked up. Mar'g just smiled and nodded his head.

"Do you have a shuttle?" Hexx asked.

"Yes." Mar'g replied.

"Meet me at these coordinates in two days, be there with the latinum and I'll be there with the ship." Hexx replied. He shot the last of his drink, then left the bar.

Mar'g looked back at Splendora and gave a thumbs up.
