Harper was sitting in the main brig looking over a PADD when the doors opened. Three men entered dressed as maintenance personnel.
“Little early today?” Harper asked.
“Yes sir, if that’s a problem we can come back at our regular time.”
“No, I don’t think that’s necessary.” Harper replied.
The crew cleaned the first two empty cells, then adjusted the power flow in the second.
Harper then drew his phaser before tapping a few commands on his panel. “Alright Clark, you know the drill.”
Clark nodded. He’d been in prison aboard Starbase 400 for years now and had started to believe he’d always be there. He walked one cell over and took a seat as the forcefield was raised.
The maintenance crew cleaned Clark’s cell, adjusted the power flow to the bathroom area, then stepped out.
Harper drew his phaser again to move Clark back to his cell. Clark let out a sigh as he walked back, but suddenly paused and looked back at Harper. He smirked as he felt the unmistaken tingle of a transporter beam.
The maintenance crew looked at each other and back to Ensign Harper.
Harper tapped his comm-badge, “Brig to Ops.”
“Bremer here. What’s wrong Ensign.”
“Sir, we were moving Clark between cells then he was beamed out!” Harper reported.
Walt Roebuck was sitting at Tactical Two. “Confirmed...beamed imitated from a site to site pad on Level 220.”
“That’s the Light Escort Bay.” He tapped in a few commands on panel, “Both Aquarius Class Light Escorts, the USS Tiger and USS Panther are accounted for and powered down.”
“Seal the bay and all other aux craft bays as well as the main docking bay. Also deactivate all trans...” Bremer was cut off.
“Just detected another transport, this time from Level 220 to a small ship holding position outside the bay. They’re moving off.” Walt reported.
“Tractor…” Bremer was cut off again.
“They’ve cloaked and gone to warp, masking their warp trail.” Walt added.
“What kind of ship?” K’Temoc asked as he entered Ops.
“It looked like a raider, Dagger Class.” Roebuck reported as he looked over reading at Tactical One. “We did get a look at the ship, mostly Human and Orion crew, however there was also a Klingon and two Romulans aboard.”
“Sir, security logs were tampered with. The transport inhibitor around the brig was put into a maintenance cycle just before the beam out. There was also another transport directly to that ship the brig maintenance area on Level 102. Sensors were shut off in that area but they did manage to get a Romulan bio-reading just before.” Roebuck reported.
“Want me to take the Yorktown and go after them?” K’Temoc.
Mike let out a deep breath. “No.” He paused a moment then slammed his fist down on the console to his left, cracking it. “Why would the Romulans aid Pirates in breaking Clark out of custody?”
