With Carolyn's approval for Kaden to meet Holly, Freya was quick to tap her comm badge and call him to Sickbay. The sooner he met Holly, the sooner she could as him what she wanted to know.

When Kaden got the call he figured Freya was hungry so he stopped by the promenade to get them some food. He came into sickbay with their meals blocking his sight clearly needing a little help he was grunting doing the best he could trying to trip or bump into anyone.

Freya was cradling Holly who was sleeping peacefully when the doors finally opened. "Hey!" Her smile beamed as she kept her voice low. "You brought food! Good I’m starving!! Come and meet Holly!"

“I would like to but...a little help?” Kaden said struggling to see over the food.

Freya nodded her thanks as one of the nurses helped Kaden offload the food onto the small table nearby. “That better? I would have helped but as you can see I’ve got my hands full.” She looked down at Hope, who was smiling in her sleep.

Kaden sat down tilting his head back relieved to have not made a mess carrying his and Freya’s dinner. “I guess the chef was so happy to finally get some business he gave us a bit too much...” After a few moments he looked back at Freya and fell silent watching her holding the baby in her arms. “Is that her?” Kaden asked just observing Freya and the baby clearly not wanting to ruin the moment.

"It certainly is!" Freya smiled as she looked at the tiny hand that was curled around her finger. "She went to sleep holding my finger and still hasn't let go yet! Hence why I couldn't help you." She grinned. "She sleeps well after a feed so don't be surprised if she stays asleep the whole time you're here. I can't wait to be a mum Kaden!"

Kaden rubbed his chin watching Freya holding the baby with interest it was actually a very beautiful moment he didn’t want to ruin. It was beautiful seeing Freya and the baby together she certainly was born to be a mother. “Well, you certainly will look good as once the baby will be born.”

"Actually there's something I need to ask you." She paused for a moment. "Would it be okay to bring Holly home? Just until they find a family for her!" She looked longingly at Holly then back at Kaden. "It'll be good practice for us."

Raising his eyebrows Kaden was a little surprised by the question. “You want to bring her home for practice?” He asked.

"No not just for practice!" She looked at Kaden then at Hope. "Kaden I....I adore her! If I could I'd be asking you if we could offer her a permanent home but I know having two babies around would be hard work! I won't promise that it won't tear me apart when I have to say goodbye to her but for now she needs a home environment." She looked at him almost pleadingly. "Please!"

Kaden had to admit he didn’t mind adopting the kid but Freya was right two kids would too much work for both right away. “This is a rather big favor you are asking me, Freya.” He began.

“I know” She looked up at him. “Maybe just for a few hours each day? Just so she gets some time out of Sickbay. The search is still going on for family so she won’t be here for too long, hopefully.” She looked at Hope. “I know if I was her mother, this isn’t what I’d want for her.”

Kaden rubbed his chin as he watched Freya holding the baby in her arms. “Okay, you can bring her home.” He replied.

"Are you serious!?" Freya almost shouted and stood up with excitement before remembering she was holding Hope. Gently getting up and placing the small baby back in her crib she turned and practically threw herself at Kaden wrapping her arms around his neck and showering him with kisses. "Thank you so much!!!" She looked back at Hope. "I'll let the medical staff know. In the meantime..." She looked back at Kaden. "How's about we eat and then go home and spend some more time trying for our own family?"

Kaden suddenly felt sad as he frowned on his face. “Freya, listen, back there in Hurd’s office I should apologize for how I acted I was mad...” He trailed off not sure what else to say.

Freya’s smile faded just a little. “It’s okay, I understand. It’s just....I couldn’t let an innocent man take the blame for hurting me. He was under control of the Remans he couldn’t help his actions. As for you being mad, I can’t blame you for that either, I was stupid and I shouldn’t have been.”

Kaden hung his head in shame. “No, I messed up again, I was so angry I wanted an innocent man to pay for hurting you,” He sighed. “It just seems I can never do anything right treating you like some whore cause I can’t handle the fact someone violated you. Being such a coward about kids at first cause I don’t want them to wind up like me. Which I still worry about actually but I am trying to focus on the good things...ANYTHING to keep my mind off that. Now this, wanting an innocent man to pay for something he really had no control over.”

“I wish you wouldn’t use that term...” She stepped away and moved back to her seat beside Hope’s crib. “Do you know how much it hurts when you refer to me as a whore!?” She hung her head. “I feel guilty enough that I couldn’t fight off whoever it was that....” She paused. “...raped me!”

Kaden looked at the floor frustrated at himself while he rested his arms on his knees. “See? there I go again, screwing up I just can’t ever do or say anything right can I?” He said in a rather calm soft tone as to not wake the baby near him.

“Don’t do that please!” Freya looked up at her husband. “I need you Kaden, the man I fell in love with. Not the man who wallows in every little mistake he makes! I want the charming, loving man who swept me off my feet.”

Kaden wasn’t sure how else to act he wanted to press the issue with Freya on what she would rather him do when he made a mistake he felt really lost. But he rather not keep pressing the matter and just let it go before deciding to move on from the matter. “So, did you want to head home and eat or stay here longer?”

“Well...” She looked at Hope who was still sleeping peacefully. “Let’s go home. I’ll let the medical staff know your decision in the morning.” She helped him to pick up the food he’d brought with him. “We’d best hurry up or this lot will be cold.” She paused just long enough to kiss Hope on the cheek. “Let’s go.”

Kaden followed Freya out of sickbay walking by her side. “You sure the baby will be okay with us? I am afraid Artemis isn’t going to take it well that now he has to share the love and attention” He began

“It would only be temporary, when we’re working she can go stay back in Sickbay where she’ll be looked after. It’s just....if she were my baby I wouldn’t want her being all alone in a crib in Sickbay I’d want her to be with someone who cared for her. Even if it was temporary.” She studied her husband. “If you’re not sure, just say so.”

Kaden shifted the food in his other hand as he wrapped his arm around Freya. “No, I want you to look after the kid by all means I understand where you are coming from. It’s just I guess it’s a big leap for me a bit to move on from looking after my cat to looking after a child with you but I want to try.” He said.

She smiled as she looked at him. “Let’s hope it’s not too much of a culture shock for both of us!” She grinned. “I want to have our own baby, nothing will dissuade me from that.”

“Are you going to miss it being just us though? I mean just a little at least?” Kaden asked.

"Of course!" She smiled. "Hence the trial run, to see if we can both cope with having the change of lifestyle."

Kaden kissed Freya on the head and lightly ruffled her hair. “Well, I hope we can I don’t want to wind up making a big mistake and we be in way over our heads.” He said.

“I’ll never be in over my head Kaden” Freya smiled. “I know now that being a mother is what I need.” She hoped Kaden would still feel the same about being a father.

Kaden agreed Freya needed to be a mom it is what she wanted and was born for. “I can understand your need for kids it’s what you desire in your life to make us parents. I still have a few concerns but I am willing to try to be a dad I just hope I can handle it.” He told her.

"I'm hoping you'll be pleasantly surprised.." Freya grinned. "Right now let's get home and eat, the smell of that food is making me hungry!"

“Well I hope you like what I got had them whip up authentic Betazed and Earth dishes for us figured we needed a good taste of home.” Kaden told her.

"In that case let's grab this lot..." She picked up the food and handed some to Kaden before tapping her comm badge. "Transporter room...two to transport directly to officers quarters."

Materialising in the corridor just outside their quarters Freya smiled as they headed inside. Ariana's door was closed and not wanting to intrude on her incase she was resting Freya settled the food down on the table. "Let's get stuck in!"

Kaden frowned and sat down in the chair he didn’t like transporters much it wasn’t cause he was scared of them he just rather use them for an emergency basis. The large Marine was always old fashioned walking to where he was going or using a sort of landing craft for away missions was just the way he was. “Freya, why did you just do that? You know I don’t like using transporters that much it’s a waste of energy.”

"I....I'm sorry I just thought it would be easier that's all." Her smile disappeared.

“Well I was enjoying our stroll is all was wanting to to see more of the station we haven’t been here that long and this place is big we haven’t got the full layout still.” Kaden replied he did like exploring his surroundings helped him settle in and feel better not to mention formulate a battle plan in the back of his mind in case hostile forces raided the place.

“Then why don’t we eat and then we can go for a walk.” She put out the food while it was still hot and started eating hers.

Kaden took a seat next to his wife and kissed her on the cheek before taking a bite of his food. “We could, but I suppose there are other times I can go exploring I mean we are home now might as well relax.” He replied.

“Okay” Freya smiled warmly. “I’ll have to sort a temporary crib for Holly for when we bring her here, we don’t have any baby things here.” She took another bite of her food. “I don’t even know what we’ll need for her!”

Kaden was about to take another bite before setting the fork down. “Uh, not exactly...” He got to his feet and walked into the other room where Freya and Kaden kept their collections. After several minutes Kaden emerged holding a box and dragging a unfinished crib behind him. “I wanted to surprise you but I sort of took the liberty of getting a few baby things for us.” He opened the box and set it on the table showing Freya the baby toys he bought as well.

“Are you for real?!!” Freya looked open mouthed at the selection of things Kaden had brought. “You....” She couldn’t speak as the emotion of the situation overwhelmed her. She simply gazed at the crib and toys with amazement as tears streamed down her face.

Kaden blushed as he rubbed the back of his head. “I started putting the crib together a little bit when I had some free time today.” He cleared his throat. “I hope you don’t mind.”

“Of course I don’t!” Freya wiped her eyes. “I think it’s wonderful. Why don’t we finish setting it up in our bedroom?”

Kaden was happy to see Freya in such a wonderful mood it made him feel that he wasn’t such a screw up like thought. “I don’t see why not.”

Freya smiled the biggest smile yet as they finished their food and headed for the bedroom to get started.
