Mission:
Episode 96 - A Visitor From the Past
Location: Operations offices
Timeline: MD 10
William had arrived at the COO's office shortly after he found out that she was back from the mission to the delta quadrant. He had not forgotten what Mr. Wayne had asked him and knew he would need his bosses ok before he could move things around to give the man what he wanted. It was this reason he now found himself in this particular spot. He reached his hand up and pressed the chime button while waiting for an answer.
Holly was in her office getting things settled now that she was back on station when she heard the chimes go off. She would respond back to the chime with one word, "Enter." Shortly after saying that she would look up to see who would be coming in.
William heard the command and walked into his bosses office then waited for her to acknowadge him before he spoke.
Gesturing for him to sit down once he got into the office she would then speak, "What brings you here Ensign Ramero?" Given the officer before her service so far she figured it had to be something of importance for this face to face.
"Well boss while you were gone a person came by my office wanting an area to setup a new business. That in and of itself was not an issue we have plenty of room. The issue is that apparently he is a mechanic and from what came out of a couple contacts I have on earth he worked alot of SFCE, fixing their shuttles and runabouts and the like. He would like to have either a small shuttlebay or a large cargo bay with an external entrance so that he could continue doing his work here on the station." Said William as calmly as he could. "Normally I would not have bothered you with this but I thought that considering what was being asked for you should be the one to make the call." He added
Raising a questioning brow Holly would look at her computer for a few moments before speaking. "Do you see any type of security threat to the station should we grant him his request? I am all for commerce, but got to weight it out properly that the risk is worth the reward." Already on her computer she would be pulling up the listing of what was being requested to be used and going through their uses and if the station could go without them should this be something worth the risk to do.
"Ma'am my honest opinion is that he is as trustworthy as they come. However that being said we would be able to watch him a little more closely if we assigned him one of the bays that opens to the internal docking area rather then to the outer hull. That way anything that came in would have to at least be scanned by our sensors. We would not want a cloaked shuttle to land without us knowing it would we." Said William calmly "Again though all I can really go on is what my contacts in SFCE tell me. I have to think that he could not have fooled them for several years without somekind of slip up and yet the only thing they tell me is that we would be idiots not to use him." He added
"Then based on the recommendations of your contacts at SFCE and your own personal recommendations I'll approve a internal docking bay for him. This is a move of good faith on our end, and the moment that he brings in trouble is the moment that the operation will be shut down." She then would offer a smile for a bit before adding. "Thank you for bringing to my attention the talent that we just got from SFCE. Is there anything else you would like to talk to me about?"
"No ma'am the rest is pretty much business as usual and nothing I could not handle." Said William calmly after all he knew just how busy his department head was and would never intentionally add to her work load.
Holly would then nod her head, "Understood. You're free to go then." It would be then that she would wait for him to make motions to leave before returning to the computer screen she had been staring at when he first came in. Seamed like her work was never done, but that is what she liked about the job.
Thank you ma'am." Said William as he rose from his seat and headed out the door he would let camron know what had been decided he should be happy with it and if people where happy then they did not cause problems at least that was what he had found.
