Dressed in an ancient Samurai dress and staring at an empty dojo, Robert Smith stood up from his meditation. Katanna in hand he began swinging it around. Twirling the ancient sword as he preformed some skilled moves with the blade, even envisioning fighting an invisible enemy.

Robert was doing this not just as a work out, but as a way to get his mind off things.

*Flashback - New Orleans - Hideout*

Petrov was leading Robert to where Amy was being held, the intimidation factor in Smith was enough to make the Russian very uncomfortable.

"Don't try to be a hero for your friends, or you won't live to see a court-marshal." Robert whispered into Petrov's ear.

As they entered a control room, two men wearing dark uniforms turned to see Robert and Petrov.

The taller one spoke. "You kept your end of the bargin I trust? Petrov?"

Petrov felt the poke of Robert's phaser in his back. "He did."

The tall one nodded. "Very well, Mr Smith, I must thank you, and as an additional reward, I shall not only return your girlfriend, but give you this as well."

Smith's special forces training kicked in as the tall man reached for a phaser and fired. He dragged Petrov into the phaser's path and took all of it. Robert fired his phaser and a gunfight ensured.

As the battle rages, Smith took down another traitor, but as he ran for better cover, a shot rang out as Robert's shoulder suddenly felt it was on fire. As he fell, a 3rd traitor was moving in for the kill but was shot down by Robert. The engineer tried to get up but the pain was unbearable. It became extremely dangerous for him as two shots struck his other shoulder and his left leg. Robert screamed in pain as he collapses, unable to move. The tall man advanced further with a phaser in his hand. Robert tried to move towards his weapon but was unable to.

"Bremer survived, but you won't see the day."

A shot rang out, but the tall man just stood there, his eyes glazed over. Robert looked behind the tall man.

Bremer stood there with Amy beside him, in her hand was a phaser, looked as if it was just discharged. The man falls forward dead as Amy ran to her wounded boyfriend.

Bremer gave Amy a hand as they wraped Robert's arms over their shoulders as they carried the wounded engineer to safety.

*End Flashback*

Robert continued his workout, when he got a call from the bridge. "Bridge to Lt. Smith."

Smith tapped his badge =/\= Smith here.

"Please report to the bridge. Admiral is meeting with the staff in an hour."

Robert took a towel and wiped his face. "I'm on my way," he then sheathed his katanna. "Computer, end program."
